Someone in our local club bought a bike from the UK over the internet only to find out it was a scam. Ive included some details here in case anyone might know something. Bike is a 1969: Velocette Venom The ad: John, Here is every restorers dream! A nicely dry-stored Velocette Venom 500cc that has been sleeping since 1976! This example is in need of total restoration. Having said that the engine does turn over nicely and feels good. The gearbox selects all gears OK. I doubt there would be much trouble in getting this bike running and back on the road as is but really, to be safe I really recommend a complete strip down and thorough clean through. All alloy engine - …

Having only been riding 'big bikes' for just over a year now and being on the small and light side I was worried about taking a pillion. After reading up on advice and taking with other biker friends I bit the bullet and took my lad on the back today. We went for a bit more than a little jaunt as we did a 100 mile round trip to Lincoln! He loved it apart from his new lid pinching a bit and I learned a lot about carrying a pillion. He had already been on one of my mates bikes so he knew just what to do and once we were under way I hardly noticed he was there. Biggest problem was stopping and making sure the bike was upright to keep the balance right. On the return journey …

Hi all Just giving my Ace a good going over and one of my jobs was to get all the crud and surface rust off my exhaust system and give it a good spray to keep any more corrosion at bay. Having just stripped out the exup valve and given that a good decoke and polish, imagine my disheartenment when the wire attachment on my drill just uncoverded a 3mm hole in one of my downpipes. So I wondered if anyone of you chaps knew if somewhere like racefit et al did new systems that kept the exup valve? Failing that, i'll have to finish getting the worst off and see how much of it needs welding.
