  1. Slice Whilst I'm more than happy to munch my way through a kebab or two, I dont eat chocolate, deep fried or otherwise. A couple of months ago I played in a rugby sevens tournament, then the next weekend I played in a full 15 a side game. These two weekends bridged my 50th birthday, so not bad for someone with such a National stereotype to fill

  4. Anyone tempted to ride in just a T-shirt needs to read this girl's story.

  5. Sacha/Katie, I use a spray called burneze. Takes away the sting and cools the burn. Andrew, fortunately no blister to burst as I used the burneze straight away.

  6. I recon your right about about cruisers but then I like flying kites, I'm prepared to put up with picking up crap as the ride is worth it. Several years ago when I was looking for a Virago, I was amazed at how many people were selling their bikes with incredibly low mileage and all of it "dry miles", funny I thought bikes were for riding not sitting in a garage. I guess each to their own but seems a waste of dosh to me.

  8. Only joking Jimmy, the Scots have a bad rep for their health but as we all know it's only the info you get from the papers that most folks read and they only like the SENSATIONAL HEADLINE news not the humdrum stuff that normal folks do. so hope I didn't offend mate.

  9. Sorry I could make it guys. Perfect weather and it would have been nice to see you ahead of Squires. However I am down South at the mo, with a very clean bike as that was my activity for Saturday... Today's activity? BBQ and alcohol... Sweet!

  10. Stoney sounds like you could turn out to be a proper biker as opposed to a I only ride in the summe type of biker. Did my fair share of winter riding when I was younger, I know that I live in the south but even here we have had some bad winters, you name it and I probably rode in it ( i'm talking about the weather guys). Now I am older and wiser( I think) and as I only ride for fun on what is quite a heavy lump, I don't do snow and ice and if its really pissing down I may not go out. Your lucky as winter kit that is now available is much better than what was around when I was a spotty kid, my advice is to get some decent kit that will keep you warm and dry. There are plenty of guys here to give advice on what to get if you need it.

  11. The kickstand thing is about horses (no, I know horses don't have kickstands.) You get on and off a horse from the left, so when motorbikes first appeared they mounted the bike the same way they mounted a horse. Putting the kickstand down with the left foot puts that foot on the ground first and so is easy to dismount on the left, like dismounting a horse.

  12. Have you had a recent oil change? I put 0W in the first XJ6 I had and the timing chain clearly didn't like it. Noises can be quite subjective, but the XJ6 is a quiet machine, so maybe the catalyst matrix has collapsed (knock the bloody thing out, if it has). btw they don't test emissions during a bike MOT (unless visually the bike is smoking badly, not 2Ts).
