    Anyone who has a XV Virago with standard handle bars would you measure them to see how wide they are. I am planning on buying one and just want an idea how wide it is just for storage. Cheers Martiniman

    Cut a long story short - had a breakdown yesterday about 100 miles from home on the A12 towards colchester... if anyone is from round there and kindly stopped to help me, thankyou so much Yet, I still had to get the AA to recover me (they took a long long time at a big big cost), because the bike wont start I discovered that it may be a fuel problem. The nature of my breakdown was similar to running out of fuel - i.e. full throttling it, yet, declining speed constantly... I was looking at the fuel tap this morning and took the second stage off to see if fuel was actually coming out. It didn't come out when on the "on" or "reserve" settings, yet comes out …

    Howdy people,i'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice regarding big bore kits.I currently have a nice wee xvs 125 with low miles and sound engine,but thinking about trying a BBK.If anyone has any experience with these and are aware of where to get one and costing it would be much appreciated.Thanks guys.

    Hello to everyone. New comer new problem I've 2001 XVS650 dragstar classic. She won't start in the morning. No spark at all Bump start! And starts. You can ride without any problem. Starts again (electricaly) when you stop as long as cooled down. Bump start required when cooled down. electric starter is ok. Repleaced with friend's bike starter. What would be your suggestions?

    Okay the service manual says to remove the drive sprocket on my xvs 125... which I cant seem to do. Everytime I move the spanner round, the wheels just turn! Is there something I should know? Chris

    Hi, I'm having problems with the Carbs coming away from the boots thus letting in air. I can't tighten the sercuring ring any tighter as this distorts to boot creating the same problem. Anybody got any ideas? Cheers Gary

    Hi, I own a Wild Star 1600cc. After the engine warmed up I push the choke back and the idle revs go really low. The engine won't cut out it just spins at a low rate. If I am turninf for example in a roundabout in first or second gear (depends on roundabout size), I can't do it without pulling some extra throttle. At idle revs it yanks. Adding a small throttle: everything goes smoothly. She does it in each gear. She is in a very nice condition with low mileage and the carburettor was never opened and everyting else is factory fitted (pipes, air filter, etc). Thank you for your help

    I have recently bought the xvs950a Midnight Star, my first cruiser, the bike is a real pleasure to ride but I am supprised at the amount of buffeting at higher speeds. I don't really want to make significant changes to the style of the bike but I am considering a short screen. How much of a difference will it make and any suggestions on makes, styles and suppliers (UK delivery).

  9. I have just got a 1300 midnight star 2008 with 3000 miles on the clock, and really pleased with my purchase. However, I find that the clutch feels as though it is not disengaging fully as there is a really heavy clunk when selecting gears especially first gear. Is this just adjustment or is it a characteristic of the bike ? Cheers

    Is there any one in nothh Hampshire who would let me come and listen to there engine? Mines done 650 miles now and I am getting a considderable knock from the back cylinder at crusing speeds. I thought that the valve clearences would be adjusted at the first service but I dont think it was done as I cant see any evidance of the rocker cover being removed. I'd like to compair rattles..

    Hi all, this might be a FAQ but are aftermarket/custom mirrors universal? I mean do you buy the mirror and it fits to the rod that comes from the handle bars? The bike in question is a XVS 125.

    Okay so as many of you know I'm on a dragstar 125. I think it needs some oil. Can I use normal auto oil or do I have to buy motorcycle oil? Moreover, how do I change it? Any online guides/tips?? Chris

    hi im needing to find some rear shocks for my xvs 125 bobber project but cant find any im needing the shocks to be 230mm (minimum) and have 14mm bolt holes preferably in chrome/ black/ white or red iv looked on ebay and found some 230mm shocks but the bolt holes are only 10mm so im struggeling to find any the size i need plus im not too sure how far they will compress once there on the bike. just wonderd if anyone could point me in the right direction?

    Hi folks, I own a Wild Star 2004 beast and refuelled today fully but the fuel meter won't go up to the full mark. If I turn the key both the speedo and fuel goes through the up and down sequence and than the fuel gauge goes 2mm only above the pin on the empty side. What is wrong? Has anybody experienced something like this? Thank you Regards
