i bought my xvs as a unfinshed project it came with log book that was registered to the previous owner who i bought it off the frame has been resprayed an there is no frame number i can only assume that instead of the number being stamped into the frame its on a sticker like this ? Okay so I had what I thought was a reg/rect problem, which turned into a battery problem, which now I think is something worse. I have changed both of these and it still wont start properly. Even with a new battery it in it struggles to start and only starts once. Say if I rode it round the block it will start again cos its already going but if i go anywhere it wont start again. The guy at the battery shop said that it could be that my starter is pulling too much current?? Could that be right? Could it be something worse? The motor turns over, but doesnt have enough "oomph" to start it PLEASE HELP GUYS chris

hi all im having a hard time trying to think of the final gear ratio i should use for my project. the xvs 125 has a gear ratio of 59/16= 3.6875 (taken from sprocket ratio) but that is to pull the mass amount of weight that the bike has (dont know exactly how heavy it is) and top speed is about 60mph (with me on it and im 10.5 stone) but the bike im building is going to be allot lighter with a little more powerful engine (cbr 125 has a little more torque) so my question is what gear ratio should i go for? with the front sprocket being a 15 tooth and the rear being 59 tooth im gonna get a ratio of 3.93!! which i admit is mint for acceleration but the top…

just the latest update on the project nothing is on properly just wanted to see what it would look like not too sure on the drag bars at the mo, might need to get some handlebar risers or make some. but im loving the look of the exhaust, highly unusual to see on this stile of bike but it gives it some presence.

Hello Again Guys... Need a little help........you may or may not be aware that i purchased a XV535 quite recently, the person we bought it from is known to our family and lives close by. The bike we knew prior to purchase did not have any papers (they have been applied for via the DVLNI) and was originally purchased and registered in England. The plate has a 'K' prefix.....I was informed by the previous owner that the bike was a 1992 reg, but having looked through Motor Cycle News i have my doubts and have observed K reg described as 1993 therein....i'am awaiting the paperwork coming back from the DVLNI at Coleraine. Hello everyone... I have just joined the Club.........I live in Northern Ireland and am very new to Yamaha's. I currently own a Kawasaki ER6-F (09 black)and have also owned a Honda CBF125 (also black) but have very recently purchased a Virago XV535 (92 Silver), this new bike is very much a project as it currently isn't running but for £100 what do you expect !!! My hubby has already given her the 'once over' and has diagnosed that the fuel pump is faulty, so we have purchased a new fuel pump from ebay..... it arrived today so fingers crossed....lol. Hi, I had a baby drag which i loved to bits but after finding out that someone else wanted my baby more than i did (but without having to pay for it) i felt the need to not only get another dragstar but something a bit more manly, sad or what ... lol so anyway after having been out and got myself this beautiful little beasty shes a 1997 xvs650. Hello there. New to the forum and first post. Recently bought first v-twin (1997 XVS 650 with 22000 miles on the clock). Coming back to bikes after too many offs on sportsbikes. On test ride everything seemed fine. Bike had a full service history, and a stack of invoices. Is also HPI clear. Wanted a Dragstar as I had been told they were fairly bullet proof. Have now noticed that the bike vibrates on acceleration and as you go through the gears It is a more of a buzz than a real shake but very noticeable noticable all the same through the grips and footpegs. It does even out when you get to 5th but then comes back with a vengance at 55 - 60 mph. I have searched the forum …

01. My bike's label on the frame says it's XV 125S...But the XV 125S shown in xv 125s manual is a different one...my bike's year of manufacture is 2004. Hello people... Been several days now...mostly when I ride at 5th...say my bike speeds at 50kmph...suddenly it slows down just like gas throttle shuts and cuts off fuel flow..it slows a bit and again starts to run normally..this happens few times normally..this happens when I dont shift gears. It happens even in low gears..but doesnt seem to affect much..bike suddenly slows down and in few second it becomes normal.. I wonder if clutch cable is loose or something..May be throttle cable...hope it is not a huge engine issue..can someone help? Can someone guide me on this? I recently bought this bike so dont know what is going on...dont know what damage is within…

Hi guys, Have you guys ever bought spares from ebay? Can you trust those and them? It is not easy to find Virago parts in Sri Lanka..may have to all across the island to find parts..there are disassemblers of Jpanese bikes from whom u could get certain parts but not all..I bought the rectifier for my bike from such a place..they are original..not chinese crap.. But you cannot find all the parts you need in these places, I searched ebay and saw the gasket set I need badly as my engine has some oil leakages...what is the buying procedure at ebay like? Hi all, I bought this cool bike few days ago and I am the third user, the year of manufacture of the bike is 2004. But early owners have had some damages on the bike, like the silencers have some strange corrosion (holes underside, just like some acid has made them) and chopped appearance but they dont seem to affect much as engine sound is just fine. This morning after running around 30 killometers I washed the bike. Then left water to drain, I washed all the cylinder heads. All the spark plugs were wet.
