I'm wondering if there are ANY tips or parts that could help in this department. As a rider I dont mind it too much but the bike, meh. I've had glasses fuses get pulled apart at their metal ends, a license plate crack where it gets bolted down, mirrors vibrate so much you can't make out what you see from them above 65mph, and bolts get unscrewed and fall off. I've replaced all these things bit its kind of like... (can't think of a good analogy right now)... I want to cure the root of the problem instead of just suppressing the symptoms. I would basically feel more comfortable going on a long distance ride on this thing without having to hear a new sound of something begin…

Guys i have managed to source a cheap master cylinder for the RS 125 DX and need to refurbish it... Now it says in Haynes to remove the dustcover then the circlip.. Thing is i have removed the dust cover but for the life of me i cant see a circlip in there and it wont allow me to pull the piston out. Have any of you lads done one of these or a similar one off a 70s disc brake yam stroker?... Kinda stumped what to do next

OK, now that you are all done laughing at the fact that Yamaha decided to call one of their scooters a "Beluga", I need some parts! I recently picked up a barn find 1982 Beluga/Riva 80cc and I need a carb for it and also a left hand side panel. I plan on restoring it (since my chappy is on hold due to a parts shortage!) and I need multiple scooters/mopeds in various stages of completion to keep me amused. My Yamaha collection is now equal to my Honda.......3 of each! THanks anyone who can help show Beluga some love.

I have been renovating a CT3 for the last year.....off and on..... It's now time for the engine. I have taken the top end off and have determined it'll be best to get it rebored. The bottom end it right on the limit of needing a refurb, and my question is.... Has anyone dismantled one of these engines, and how easy is it? I've read the manuals, but I wanted peoples' first hand responses...what are the main problems people have encounted? Best to do it myself? Pay someone else? Leave it alone?

Hi all. I am in the process of getting my motorcycle safetied and on the road but the front forks are leaking. I am being told by the mechanic that I need new seals and bushings (front fork piston). I can get the seals without issue but can't get the pistons in town or from anyone online so far. The part number is 278-23171-50-00 for those interested, and I believe it's number 7 on the microfiche for the front forks. Has anyone else had luck with certain suppliers that may or may not have this part? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, since I won't have an operating motorcycle until I can get ahold of this part Thanks, Cameron

So it all started last summer. At one point the bike was flawless, but then I wanted to replace the gigantic stock tail light for a small sleek one which I did with no problems for a week. Then I started loosing voltage going to the main headlight. Im bad with electrics as you will see, so I did the easy solution and just hardwired the headlight to the tail light, it just turned on when I turned the key. This was my hard wiring job for the headlight. The red wire with black tape on the end went straight to the tail light for power. That worked fine for an entire season. Then in the last couple days (first rides of this season a few months la…

I'm keen to replace the fork springs on an '81 XS250c (very soggy now !!). Having looked on sites such as Hagon for their progessive springs, they don't have a listing for the xs250 (only later xs400 models). Does anyone know if replacement springs are available. Would new "standard" springs help or is there a different make / type which would be OK? Or...without pulling a fork apart does anyone have the standard dimensions? Andy

Hey Guys, Have been trying to diagnose my lack of idiot light on my dash. I'm kind of stumped as to what to try next. So far I've - traced the neutral wire back to the connectors (sky blue) to test with a test light. This didn't work - replaced the neutral switch.. Still didn't work. Have looked at the wiring diagram and can't think of anything else that may be causing it not to work? any ideas Cheers

The electrical start seems to work fine. Its still around 50F-60F degrees here (15C) and after putting a heater upto it the electrical start gets it going within a few tries. I tried using the kickstart and I had a lot of trouble. Its giving me a lot of resistance. Some kicks I can only get it down about a 1/4 of the way. The kicks that I do get to go all the way are so weak it wont turn anything over. Ive kick started plenty of older bikes to know that its not normally this hard, and that it shouldn't stop after 1/4 kick. Let me know me if you have any idea about what the problem is, and/or the degree of difficulty to fix this problem myself.

YESTURDAY the weather was warm, the bike started right up with the electric start. My only issues were I had electrical problems with the head light (which I had hardwired to the tail) and loose tail light, and my kickstart was giving me tons of resistance, but the bike started fine with the electric start. TODAY, I went out and bought a new head light, tail light, fuses. I noticed my tail light had loose wiring, fixed that up nice and tight. In my fuse box theres supposed to be 1 20amp (main), and 3 10amps. I noticed the main (far left), and one on the far right was also a 20amp but it said it supposed to be a 10amp so I switched that out for a 10. I was hearing some…
