  2. The old one was shot, but I can't even get that out of the footpeg mount! I have attached a photo, so you know what I mean. Is there a special tool, a special trick or something like that?

I have acquired a 1970 yamaha h3d, well that's what yamaha told me from the vin number. It has been sitting for 20+ years. The restoration is slow but is going fine parts are hard to find for that exact model but have been sourcing parts off various other similar models. Just wondering if anyone knows where these bikes were released and if there many made or if they are called another model because all the parts websites I have found do not list this model any info would be great

  6. Hi guys! Just joined the group.. I have been running my T500 Titan for about 20 years, but I am a brand new vintage Yamaha owner -just bought a non-running YM2C 305 last week in Albuquerque. The bike looked like a great candidate for resto as the chrome was great, tank is dent and rust free, and owner said it was running when last parked 12 years ago. It kicked over fine, and when I looked inside the exhaust ports, the cylinders and pistons were beautiful. I have run in to a couple of problems I hope someone can help with- 1. The prior owner once parked it somewhere wet. Water got in to the right carb, which I have been able to save, but it also flowed into the…

As title says it is running on two outside pots, inside pair run on same coil so I have a new one on the way, but I am curious would a faulty ignitor be the cause as I am unsure if it would run on two. Any info would be appreciated

Not a good day yesterday trying to sleep after a night shift one more to do when woken by an anonymous phone number about to rip into the telesales person about getting a proper job except it is the Police. Are you the owner of such and such a so and so registration number this and that, yes, were is the motorcycle, at this point you know the conversation is not going to go in your favour. No sadly it isn’t on my drive it is about 1500 yards away down a hidden lane, get dressed walk to it there she is. Ignition wires ripped out side panels missing, for some bazaar reason seat front is torn up in the air. They must have thought getting to the battery would start it…

Forgive me if this has been covered before and I'm sure it has but can anyone tell me if the crank seals can be replaced without splitting the cases on the DT125 1977 1G0 engine. Any experiences of this would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

hi guys. I found the old chappy in my granny in laws garage. I managed to get it running and it runs really well. I don't know anything about bikes but it runs. there are 2 problems with it though. the first being that after running for a while it looses oompf and won't go anymore then it has to sit for a day or 2 before it will start again. is it a heating problem? the 2nd problem I have is that my kickstarter is super dodgy. I think it was broken and then welded back on. now the weld is starting to break and the kickstarter is rubbing against the exhaust. any ideas on how to fix it? I spoke to a friend and he said you can't just weld on a new piece I would have to s…

Hi all, I tried to search the forum for this but didn't see anything. I've got a '79 model rear drum 250 and it looks like there should be a spacer on the nearside rear spindle between the wheel bearing and swing arm but mine didn't have one when I bought it. Does anyone know the dimensions or have a source for these? Any help appreciated. Looking at the drawings it also looks like a dust cover is missing but this is something I can probably live without for the time being. Cheers guys.

My '75 DT250B sat for a month or so while I re-did the tank, redkote, etc. Put it all back together and now it bogs down at anything more than half-throttle or so. Starts, idles, and putters around fine, but when I give it a twist, it bogs down and the engine nearly stops. When I let off the throttle, it behaves normally again. I'm hoping I don't need to try and get inside the carburetor (I'm scared I'll screw something up), so before I go that route, I'm hoping for other suggestions. It's fresh fuel, new fuel line, new in-line fuel filter and as far as I know, fuel is flowing from the tank without any obstruction. I'm thinking it's in the carb, but that's why I'm a…

Hi Guys, I have rescued a NVT rambler out the back of a wood mill, this uses an dt175mx engine, but guess you all know that!! needless to say the carb was gummed up good. I have cleaned it best I can and the bike runs, but only smoothly on half to full throttle, less than that and it bogs down. am I right in thinking the pilot jet controls the fuelling at this throttle setting? could it be this that needs cleaning some more? if so were is it in the carb? also I do not have any air filter on it, there is no air box. I have been trying to get it going on an open carb. will this cause the low rpm running issues? as the air boxes are unobtainable what c…
