  1. Howdy, I always liked the low front fenders on the DT1 (and other older models). I have seen several DT100 photos from Europe that have this fender, but was unable to find a used one in the US. So, I took a chance and ordered a used Honda Trail 90 (CT90) fender (it was only $40). Got it today, and it is a perfect fit...the mounting bolts line up with no modification. I am in heaven! It is even a yellow that is fairly close to the rest of my bike. Still can't figure out how to attach photos. I am old, how do you attach something from a URL? I just want to attach a PDF or GIF like you do in Facebook.

    Hi. I own a 2011 XT660R and while wiring up my tail light did a very stupid thing. I know it was wrong I had my ignition on and while wiring up my tail light one wire accidently touched the black wire causing a click from the right side of my bike. I nearly kicked myself as I did such a stupid thing. I checked the fuses as the indicators and tail light stopped working. No blown fuses. So I took the right cover off and there I replaced the indicator relay thinking it had blown. But still no joy. No indicators or tail/brake light. No light in headlight when ignition on. But headlight comes on when started and horn works. What else could this idiot check or have popped. …

  5. New to forum having just bought a dt175mx 1980. Back in the day I worked on these a lot so pretty comfortable with everything accept diagnosing electrics. And talk about bad luck, the headlights and tail lights stopped working at the MOT yesterday resulting in a failure Have since discovered the lights are turned on and off at the ignition switch as well as the handlebar switch. Will leave the post just in case there is anyone else out there as stupid as me and the MOT tester!

    Hi all , I’ve just brought an xt350 one owner from new 12000 miles on the clock. ? I’m wondering what sort of top speed people are getting out of there xt350’s I can only get about 65 mpg tops on a flat and I thought it was a bit low ? I have given it a full service and compression is good, it seems a tiny bit underpowered for a 350 single to me , am I wrong ?

    Hello, I’m posting this as I really have run out of ideas. I’ve restored my dt175mx from a non runner. The engine is fully rebuilt, exhaust decoked, stator rewound, rotor is intact, carb has been cleaned and I’ve fitted new jets to suit the standards in the Yamaha manual I have. I’ve put a new coil and plug on. Timing is set as the marks state. Reeds look good and all rubbers are tidy. New air filter and everything nice and tightly done up. Oil pump is rebuilt and the exhaust has a nice blue tint. she fires up first kick, ticks over nicely, but once you ride it it it has nothing from 4 to 5 k., splutters and won’t rev.     Hi! I ordered intake manifolds for xt600 1998, 3tb. I Got different which I had. Original intake has black airbox connected to intake manifolds and I got manifolds without connections to air box. Question is, what is this air box? Can I live without it? Why they add this air box to 1998-1999 models? thanks!

    Hi. I am trying to get the bike back on the road, after rebuild it the headlight dosent work as there isn't any power getting to it, can anyone tell me which cable should take the power to the headlight . Thanks.

    I’ve got a project bike and I need to remove the blind needle roller bearing inside the left hand crankcase. It’s the one the gearbox layshaft sits in. I don’t have a puller but has anyone managed to get the bearing out by any other means? Cheers Lee

    Love this bike. About 14k.Engine is making a lot of noise. Runs fine. No smoke. Valves adjusted proper.Checked timing chain,gear and guides. All seem fine. Rockers seem ok.Cam looks ok. I'm at a loss. Any ideas. THANK YOU

I have a 1975 Yamaha DT 175 and the Head light is not working... the bike starts up fine with or without a battery in it and the horn and all other lights (turn signals and breaklights) work just fine with it running or not running... At the head light bucket I am getting practically nothing (like 1.2 volts) any ideas where to start on this I cant ride this baby with out a head light and I am terribly frustrated right now

  20. I’ve come into passion of an old dirt bike that only has a 9 digit vin but doesn’t follow the standard prefix. It’s a Yamaha 250 2 stroke with the four speed and is also street legal (maybe back in its time). The crank case number and number etched in the gram are the same. 510-200729 and I can’t seem to get a picture of it to upload but it is in my profile pic
