Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

I have an '86 tk carb on a later bike but can't find float height for it. It seems to be above the float bowl to main body seal ! It therefore leaks and I'm going to change the seal next week . I'd just like confirmation that the level can sometimes be above the gasket, I've never come across that before. Thanks in advance, Dave ps. I'm going to put a small washer under the needle to richen it rather than changing the jets.

hi everyone, i have an issue i would like opinions on. my 77 dt250 was running good I had put clutches in,rebuilt carb and when i got it out the other day it started right up, went for a ride around block and came back to adjust air mixture. adjusted and took off in first gear and went 100 yards and it died like power was shut off. put in neutral and it started right back up, same thing take off in gear and 100 feet did it again. revs up in neutral but when on the move dies?

i have an 02 dt125r and a work friend of mine has an 07 dt125sm, i was wondering if his rear shock and mine are both the same as his feels a lot firmer when you push the seat up and down, we have looked underneath and the preload/adjustment nuts are virtually in the same position but there is definately a difference as his feels firmer and mine feels as though it has a more smoother through action. both the rear shock springs are red

Hi All Yam fans I am hoping someone can resolve this one I have Just bought a dt175mx and have found when I pull away the clutch is grabbing on and off as I release it and its bloody awfull.I have changed the friction plates and Springs And it still does it. Hello YOC members! I've tried to fix a broken ignition wire on my bike, which was split in half. I took the plastic cover off the cable ends, and stuck them together. Without covering the wire with isolating tape, I started the bike and - stupidly - I turned the handlebar and the naked, cooper wire touched the metal fork which immediately stopped the engine. I thought: fine, the fuse is blown. So I checked the fuse box by the car battery, but all fuses were fine (I've changed them all, just to be safe).I've been told by my friend whom is a bike owner himself, that I should check the starter relay. Hi my Yamaha Tdr250 is sitting at 2000 rpm for about 30 secs before it drops back down to normal tick over . Any idea why ? ( recently completely refurbed the carbs with new jets , floats etc.)

Hi all! I've just bought a 1999 DTR 125 from a mate and took on a mini project at the same time! The bike is very clean and only has 4000 miles on the clock but it's been stood in a garage for about 8 years without being drained of any fluids or inhibited in any way so I have half a tank of rusty fuel and god knows what else to contend with! I'm determined to get her sorted and back on the road though and I'm looking at the next few weeks as a bonding process! Apart from the obvious need to clean out the fuel tank, drain and replace all fluids, replace the spark plug and filters, can anyone think of anything else I'll need to do? I've never worked on a …

Hi all, I'm trying to get the relay arm to frame bolt out, I've undone the small 14mm one but how on earth do you get the larger 22mm one off. My bike seems to have a piece of metal that stops the nut from being turned, I can barely get a socket on it. Is it supposed to drift out? The Haynes manual would seem to suggest not but I can't see how it's possible to spin it out. Cheers all

Hi guys, My brother sold me this motorbike years ago for £80. It's in boxes, I've never seen it together. I don't really know what it is, I'm a car guy, I've never worked on bikes before. When he sold it to me he said he thought it was a dt70? I've Googled a bit and can't find much on that... Can anybody shed any light? It's water-cooled... The cylinder and piston are scored so it needs a rebore or a replacement, what's best? Cheers guys

Hi all, My Tdr125 4GW currently has the standard 18 inch wheel up front but I was looking to put a 17 inch in its place. My question is will the look alike tzr brembo wheel fit as a bolt on option given 1 or 2 spacers .

How do from a newbie I've been given a dt125 in lue of some work and quite a few spares , first thing is I've looked today for the Vin/ engine number , i thought the vin would be on the top part of the frame near the forks, and the Engine number on the rear of the block , the engine number isn't there just a blank space (were these adhered or pinned into place or simply stamped,) after reading threads on here today about powder coating this frame has been coated and i cant see anywhere any numbers. Just thought id check it out before working on it , and how can the above be rectified, I have no v5 and don't know the registration. Thanks for any help

does anyone have a wiring diagram for a dt50mx 5m6 please with cdi ignition. i want to use the cdi system on a different bike to replace a points system. Pete
