There seems to be loads of XS400s about on this forum! I had two back in the 90's, a 79 road model and a SE that I did a fair amount of work on (note the nice clean wiring on the bars!). It usually had open drags on, but as we were going a long distance I'd fitted a motad when this was taken. Here's the current 'Rex's Speed Shop' Project Bike - a SR500 Street Tracker - my take on the flat tracker (boring to just copy a popular style when you can put your own twist to it ) All work carried out by the 'Speed Shop. Wiring and ignition will be custom built for this bike. There have been quite a few issues as the only remaining parts of the original bike are…

Good day. I just signed up so am new here. I own a Yamaha Nouvo Elegance 135cc AT and I have a question to other people who own one. Where do you access the chassis number? I can find the engine number easily enough but for the life of me I can't find the chassis number. I may be overlooking it so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

mt03. I realise that its not an ideal tool for the job, but its what i currently own. I am looking to do some touring sooner rather than later and was wondering has anyone done some serious miles on one. I would have to fit some heated grip and a box but would there be anything else to consider.

I'm back from Daytona and the bike was great in all respects. I'm keeping the bike and am doing the Montana trip in June. I am looking for suggestions on alternative exhaust systems. I know Yamaha just came out with an exhaust system for the 1300. Anyone have any suggestions based on your experience?

Hi all, newbie here so hola! I'm thinking about chopping in my Kawasaki Z1000 for something a little more dedicated, and have always wanted an R1 so just wanted a bit more info really. What I really want is the best road-going R1, so which is the comfiest, most supple, spacious model year to go for? I quite fancy a 2001-2002 carb model as they look great and I've heard they're pretty good 'all-rounder' - well, for a litre sportsbike at least. But are they much different to the earlier 1998/9 bikes? I do also enjoy the odd trackday, but any model R1 should be more than capable of this - more capable than me I'm sure! The other model year was a 2004 underseat ex…

The Italian Yamaha Sterilgarda World Superbike team, with riders James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow, unveiled its new livery for the 2010 season today at the team’s headquarters in Castiglione delle Stiviere to a host of journalists and sponsors. While slight styling differences make an appearance, such as the rider’s numbers largely displayed on either side faring, a white front fender and updated logo placement, the big news comes in the form of the added performance gains they announced from its '10 Yamaha R1Superbikes. The press release states they found an additional eight peak horsepower, lost 6.6-lbs and updated the radiator shape for increased cooling capacity…

Hi Guys I am purchasing a new TDM 900 in a couple of weeks but am unable to trace a supplier of a hugger for this model. All contacts I have made say that none are made, but I have seen one on a bike, in fact there is even a TDM 900 on the net for sale fitted with a hugger. The only ones I can trace are in Greece!! All the normal suppliers have been contacted- Powerbronze, Skidmarx etc. Any help or ideas are welcome. Thanks

First of all hi to everyone on the board! I am a new member and as such I´d like to introduce myself. I have lived arround the world and I´m now based in Argentina. I have had several Yamahas. Virago 750, 1997 gen1 Vmax, 2007 Mt01. Lots of fun!!! Now comes the question: Can someone give me clear differences between a R6 and a R1, I want a sports bike and found half of the shelf talking goodies about the R1 and the other about R6. I know they are both superb bikes. One detail, I am not going to use it in a race track!! Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm new the forum, and my 1986 FZ600 has been acting up. I recently bought it , and everything was working great. After about a week it started to get progressively worse , and now it just wont turn over. --I'm not sure if this is the issue, but I put mid grade gasoline in it. I took it too a mechanic and hes convinced that I need some fuel parts to get it working properly, so I found whats called a "used 1986 fuel pump set" on ebay, and I am currently waiting for it. --Others have told me the bike does not have a fuel pump The description below is from what I found on another forum, but unfortunately it was the users only post. Does anyone have any ideas?…

Yamaha unveiled the 2010 livery for its YZR-M1 MotoGP race bike ahead of the pre-season test in Malaysia. The 2009 MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi and runner-up Jorge Lorenzo are back on the track at the Sepang Circuit ready to continue their success in 2010. “2009 was the most successful year for Yamaha’s racing activities for many years. It will be difficult to follow such a performance but we are intending to try!” says Lin Jarvis, managing director of Yamaha Motor Racing. “We are lucky to have the same fantastic rider line-up with Valentino and Jorge and we are looking forward to getting started with our work on track.” For 2010, team engineers worked at improv…
