Hi, I recently got an 03 r6 off a friend of mine. He hadn't ridden it much, and let it sit for awhile. After starting and stopping the motor a few times, the battery died. So i had it tested and recharged. Auto zone said it was still a good battery. Have been ridding it well since then, until this morning when i tried to start it up, and can hear the starter trying, but no joy in actually firing the bike up. Theres no choke, and its 95 degrees in Florida right now, so im not sure why it wont fire up. Its in Neutral, and kick-stand is up, clutch pulled in, front brake on. The Engine Start is in the ON position, still got nothing. No idea why. The only idea i hav…

Hi, ive only joined to the Forum today, have been looking about and reckon its going to be quite useful. first post of mine is a question. Being. i have recently in the last 2months purchased a 2009 Yammy R6, im looking to get a new exhaust onto it and have been advised by others to get a full system as opposed to an end can, reason being that by simply adding an end can it will not change the sound at all due to the silencer box. I quite have been looking and doing some homework on the Two Brother V.A.L.E Full system but can anyone give me any advice on what they think on this and any other exhaust manufacturers. Would really appreciate the help Cheers Guys -R6 Rac…

Hey guys. Was washing the bike yesterday, and noticed that my Throttle cable linkage thingy (The place where the cable links up to the fuel valve - I think) has snapped. I've temporarily fixed it with some cable ties, but I would very much prefer to repair it as soon as I can. Here's a picture for those who have no clue what I'm on about Any idea what it's called, and where I can get a replacement from? (Preferably in the UK) Thanks Tom

I bought a 2010 V-Star 950 Tourer today and there was a tool kit bag in one of the saddle bags with 3 tools in it. A spanner wrench of some sort and two other items I couldn't ID. This isn't the standard tool kit under the seat that comes with wrenches and such. Any idea what these are for?? Thanks for any help with this.

Hi Guys New here so hope I'm in the right place, at the ripe old? age of 62, I have just purchased a xv 125 virago so I'm a born again biker (brought up on the BSA bantam the TRIUMPH cub etc.) "Ace Cafe" blah......blah....blah...... those in the know, know what I'm talking about, back to the xv, I've bought this bike without seeing it and have been told it's a non runner, now I don't expect miracles just looking for a few pointers and opinions, they where supposedly told by a Yamaha dealer (in France) that one cylinder was low on compression, now I would have thought that the bike would start but run lumpy and be gutless when ridden, now that's my opinion, what's yours…

Hi everyone, I've got a 2007 R6 which has done 13k miles. I've started to notice that the bars are very "buzzie" or "vibey" over 8000 rpm. Im getting concern about this now to the point where I'm about to part ex it for a new Kawasaki can any of you guys tell me if your R6 does this too? Could it just be a characteristic of the bike? Thanks guys / gals Dep

Hey got a problem with my bike it will back fire when i let off the throttle and i have notice that is will misfire almost at 4000 rpm ,where should i start the carbs ,change coil already and plugs still the same! I have clean the carbs every year pretty much and for some reason it gets better but not solve totally. Voltage is 14.5 at 3000rpm so that's good ,i did however burn up the diode and replace it with a new one and it burn also! but i got one to work maybe my current to low or to high! I'm lost and manual doesn't help all to much .

Hello all, I have a 1993 SR125. I discovered that the forks were bent by the previous owner crashing (I assume) and decided to replace them so I bought some off ebay. Unfortunatly I hadn't realised that the later 1999-onwards model has a different fixing between the top of the forks and the top yoke, plus the disc isoon the other side. Of course the forks I have bought (I realised now) are off the later model! DOH! I have taken a few sets of forks apart before, so I have considered taking the stanchions out of the later forks and seeing if I could fit them to the old bottoms. Before I rip them all apart and see what happens (or sell them again on …

Hey all, new to this place, but just bought my Yamaha YZF 600R 1997, my first bike but can't ride it just yet, 2 weeks is when I got my 2 module exams for DAS so wish me luck! Should be a piece of cake. Anyway, I'm looking to get a pillion seat cover (rear) and a exhaust for my bike as it comes with standard. I typed "yamaha 600r exhaust" and "600r exhaust" on ebay and nothing come up for the bike, aswell as rear seat cowel and pillion cover. So just wondering if anyone knows where to get either and cheap? I don't want to spend alot, something which makes my bike sound nice and that can cover the pillion is all. Don't want a full system or a expensive Akropovic etc.…
