So asked couple of people with Elsies now who now really have me thinking my rev counter running 1000-1500 rpm too slow. Seen this fix on the aircooled RD site. Will get better the more you use it ,yes uses a magnet no damage will result in its use what happens is grease sticks between the bell and the rotor, normally happens when they have been left upside down for long periods. Soak a bit of rag with white spirit and stuff it up a pilot light hole and leave it for a few days, re soaking it when required. The vapour softens the grease, it worked on one of mine.

There was a little rust from tank sitting and not properly stored so I took the tank off cleaned ur up put a new fuel petcock in because the old one was shot, leaked, and fuel was only coming out one side nicely other side just trickled. But mind you it still idiled for at least 10 mins. no problem and ran at speed up to 40 to take it home to my place..Now it is very hard to start will not idle for more than 15 seconds and exhaust only coming out left side. Hey all I've had my 06 YBR for quite a while now and the lights for the speedo and rev counter have never worked. It's never caused an issue as I only tend to ride during the day time but my MOT is coming up and I've got a feeling it will fail with no dash lights. Was just wondering if anyone here knows which bulbs the YBR clocks use. The fuel gauge light works, by the way, so I'm not sure if that would suggest blown bulbs or a lose connection. I'm thinking I'll try changing the bulbs, failing that, I don't have a clue, I'm rubbish with bike electrics. Or if anyone knows of a tutorial or manual that explains how to pull the clocks apart and fault find, that woudl …

I'm having trouble turning my key to the lock position to engage the steering lock. It gets stuck halfway between off and lock. Is there just a trick or wiggle to get it into lock and withdraw the key ?

  9. (Important info = YBR 127 2007 Fuel Injection) So, been loving the YBR and riding in general. Been very lucky with the weather, so perfect for me to get some experience miles in. Back at work today, so set of, bike started first time no problem, (parked in the shade) Left it in the car park during the day, decided to meet the Mrs for lunch. (mainly just an excuse to ride, but we won't tell her that). (parked in the sun / a little bit of shade) Went to start it; nothing, Not a sausage. Ticked over, but no go. Turned off and back on again, paying even more attention, noticing that there was no wurring (however you spell it) noise. Pressed the started …

Hi I thought someone might be able to help me with this one as I just got the other half a YBR125 2008 and don't want her riding without working indicators. There have been some after market indicators fitted and they work fine up to about 10mph then they only work if you apply the breaks. I am about to start investigating but I'm not sure what to start looking for. The break lights don't appear to be blinking with the indicators Any help will be much appreciated, thanks in advance ::edit:: I have also found out that it indicates at whatever speed in Neutral and they only start working again with the rear break applyed not the front :S Found it to…

I've read lots of posts on the internet saying that all these bikes have same problem with the original speedo. Is there a fix for it or if not can anybody tell me if there is a decent aftermarket speedo that fits into same bolt holes for this? Also looking for a wiring diagram for the multi pin plug so i can test the harness to rule out faults there. Thank you

Hi all, I have a ybr125, and have recently changed my bulb, but have noticed it's still not working. I have checked the holder and it's ok, but I did notice both light elements are on at the same time. It is the correct bulb, so I'm not sure what may be the problem. Any ideas anyone?

Hi! My XT125 from 2007 has a defect speedometer. It is a electronic display that shows different informations. It is showing the speed as 0 km/t and not counting the distance, but it is able to show the rpm. It has a sensorcable that ends with a sensor close to the break disk. Nothing is mounted on the disk, so I assume that it some kind of sensor that can see whether it is close to metal or not and is used for counting the holes in the breakdisk. Is that correct? I assume that the failure could have something to do with the sensor and want to check it. Do you know what kind of semsor it is (reedswitch, inductive or ??) and how to check it? There are three wires in …

I've rebuilt motorcycle engines in the past and always used gaskets with flange sealant on both sides for the crankcase. can I assemble the crankcase halves without gaskets and just use threebond 1104/yamabond? the gasket kits are expensive to buy in aus. I could cut my own gasket if required as I have plenty of gasket paper. cheers

Having just refurbished the motor with new bearings, seals, rings etc ready for the winter. I also decided to replace the wheel bearings, which I've now done so she's back on the road. I've already clocked up over a 1000 miles in 11 months, shows you i'm using it!! The MOT is due in february and the front tyre is quite worn (to be fair i was surprised it went through the last MOT) Nonetheless, I've purchased a new Michelin X to go on before february. Now on further inspection, I note the spokes are rusting quite happily and I could do with replacing them, even more so as I'll be taking the old tyre off (might as well do it altogether) I'd like to do both whe…

Hi. My names Jack and I've just recently bought a 07 Yamaha XT 125 X. To cut a long story short the chain looked a bit loose and then saw the adjuster nuts on rear axle were loose too. So I thought that was why. I adjusted everything and chain was looking good. So here's where the nightmare begins. When I retightened the main big axle nut back up to the factory torque setting it just went all loose. My fears were confirmed the nut was stripped bare and has also damaged the spindle thread although not too bad. Does anybody have any thoughts on what I should do? I've thought Get a new bolt and cross thread it best I can and see if I can get it to hold tight. …
