  2. Hi guys, sorry to keep asking questions but here goes... Removed my bashplate this morning and she is attached with top hat spacers and these go through rubber bushes....however I cannot seem to find any parts drawings with these bushes shown ?...I have gone through all years of the 175's and they all show just bolts going through with washers...no top hats and no rubbers .....any idea's of numbers or links to diagrams ? Second question what does this tapped hole do ? it's the 1 on the left looks like m8 it don't seem to go anywhere lol ? whilst your thinking, my exhaust tail section has 2 mounting bolts and cannot seem to find a drawing which shows this either ....and…

    hey guys I have a yamaha ag 175, (its mostly based around CT motor and early Dt125 chassis etc).. I have done a number of performance mods and am increasing the compression so I am thinking CDI could be a good add on. I bought a few yamaha ag 175s, a 1978 model I bought had a 2 wire CDI box (litle black box), but the unit still had points (but no condensor) was this some middle ground cdi unit that yamaha did for a year or two? or perhaps just for ag bikes for easier start/better reliability/lower maintenance? it seems they use the points as a low voltage switch, so they basically dont burn or wear/require readjustment, this is teh same concept as many add on cdi …

    Hey all I restoring old DT 250 and want to see if I can get the engine running before shelling out $$. For oil pump. My question is if I premix do I not fill with oil and how do I get oil back in the transmission? Have read that 4stroke oil is meant to be used in trannie but as first time working on bikes can not find a filler - prob starring me in face - and how much? Do I just put on side and fill through drain plug? Please help. I Can not find fill and are just tempted to turn engine on side and fill through drain plug...     Hello chaps, I need help big please to replace the needle of my Brazilian built Yamaha DT 180. I bought the bike as a rebuild project from a chap who unfortunately replaced the needle in the carb (and threw the original away) with a DT 175 needle, and so I don't know the numbers stamped on the original needle to buy an after market equivalent. The Yamaha part is discontinued. The carb on the bike is a Mikuni 24mm with the numbers 58W10 stamped above the auto lube tube inlet. As far as I know it's a VM2455. The original Yamaha part number for the carb assembly is 23K-14101-00 and for the needle is 584-14116-07. I've solved loads of problems from leaking…

    Hello all, please give me your advice on this problem I just had. So heres the story: Bike: 2007 FZ6 It was really nice out today and I decided I would throw the battery in the bike and have a spin. It was lightly winterized with a full tank of gas with stabilizer and battery removed. So today I did what I always do, put the battery in and then buttoned up all the fairings. I turn the key and it lights up like normal. I dont think I heard the fuel pump pressurize but I wasnt really listening for it. I flip the kill switch to on and hit the starter. Right as I hit the starter I think I heard a light click noise and then it all went dead. No power at all. I ch…

    Hello all, Well here is the story. I was riding my bike the other day, and my chain came off of the rear sproket but it continued to spin around the front sproket, it ended up doubling up on the front sproket at stalling the engine. when i tried to put the clutch in to get it out of first it was very stiff and it didnt want to spring back. Today while working on the bike i got the chain off of the front sproket and onto the rear. To do this i had to take the chain gaurd off which was connected to the stator cover and with that off i saw (its hard to explain) where the clutch cable went onto a shaft i assume and down into the gearbox to the clutch, this shaft w…

    Heya I own a xvs Dragstar 125 and my carb intake manifold needs replacing got cracks and running lean and fails past 50 so was wondering how easy or difficult would it be to come by a aluminium manifold so I can avoid replacing it again in future ?     Ok..after deciding to give this bike to my son for local use, finally ordered a set of friction plates to get my first DT`s clutch sorted (its slipping pretty bad). This is my first clutch repair so please bear with me. Friction plates have been ordered from Yamaha. Once received will soak them in oil overnight.

    Hi folks, I recently bought my son a 2006/7 DT125X. It had been advertised as being in original condition but, upon delivery, I noticed a bright blue wire leading from behind the headlight assembly to the chassis. I had previously read about a DIY bypass for the YPVS which entailed cutting a wire leading into the ignition block and earthing it onto the chassis and sure enough this is what has been done to it. I reinstated the wire as it should be as I think Mr Yamaha probably knows more about building bikes than I do but the YPVS did not work. Investigation showed that not only had the bypass been fitted but some bright spark had also cut the 5 wires leading from the …

    Just bought a thundercat Test drive went well everything worked as it should but on the drive home I stopped to fuel Up and Down the road I noticed the speedo wasn't moveing any advice on what is the issue or what to check and repair would be great . Thanks

    Hi there i have a 2010 fuel injecton model ybr. Last month it cut out on my commute to work . I was low on fuel and it was raining so done all the basics new plug new fuel checked wires etc nothing still so i look at the piston and it was chewed up and cracked. so ordered the 150 piston and cylinder kit fitted no problems went to start still wont start on button or bump start . I pulled off the fuel pipe at bottom to check fuel and it shot out with presure like theres a block somwhere in manifold but got no carb . Any help or ideals as i need this for work monday .     Hi All, a few months back MY XT started clicking/tapping then cut out, now she woint start. I have checked for compression as i have recently had the piston changed (no compression not an upgrade) and there is nothing wrond there. I have a spark but the engine will not start.
