Hi people , Does anyone have experience of running an LC with no battery ? I'd only need to run front and rear lights . I read somewhere years ago that this can be done by fitting a resistor between the battery leads , but I can't find any info . Cheers .

Just a quick question folks, I am going to replace the filter on the FJ but have decided to go with the pod/individual filters instead of the single flat filter, main reason for this is it's much easier to get the carbs off with out the filter housing and it will give me much more room under the seat for another place to have some storage that's out of sight. My problem is that I don't know if I have to uprate the jets if I do this, is it normal to rejet with this mod or can I leave the existing jets in for now? The FJ club does a rejet kit but it's in the £100 range and I have to drill the old jet ways out for the new jets to fit, has anyone done this to any of your bike…

Can someone give me some insight with this ignition? This 175 has the European ignition which I`m not familiar with. I`m used to just on/off but this has 3 on switches. Can`t read the decal so can`t see what setting should do what. I see the first one switches on the neutral and oil light..second switches as first but also the front park light (which my other 175`s also don`t have)..third setting I see park light stays on. With all this the brake light is coming on on first setting..then brake and tail light on second..and only tail light on third. So something screwy at the back as when I apply brake nothing happens.

Rebuilding my bike soon and needing advice for what brands to go for and what to avoid. Found a kit which is a wiseco top end and hot rods bottom but I also need a new bore which they don't come with. The only bore I can find is made by cylinder works and I dont know anything about them. Has anyone used their products before and if so, how are they?

Hey guys, my big bore kit has blown a head gasket again so its time it went back to a 450. Decided while I'm at at I'll do the bottom end aswell. Which has me thinking, while its all apart I may put some stage 1 or 2 hot cams in it but first I'd like to hear from you guys. Has anyone ridden one of these bikes with cams who can comment on how much of a difference it makes?

Hi all, I have been having problems with my Yamaha XJ S Diversion/Seca '00 when switching the petcock from normal to reserve petrol. The bike just started choking. Now it is not working properly although there is lots of gas. I guessed some external elements were sitting in the bottom of the tank. What I did was removing the tank and empting it completely. Water. Yes there was some transparent liquid and lots of it. After refuelling the tank with clean petrol, The bike is not working neither. It starts but does not respond well at all. Actually there is an electric noise (kind of buzz) when it starts (sometimes) and when I switch off (some other times); the volume …

Hi all, Was looking over my bike and couldn't help but notice that where the riders foot pegs and mount are, it seems like it's overly sized for what it's exactly there for. So just wanted to know if anyone one knows if it's possible to get them replaced with a smaller version? See the pic for clarification as to what I'm talking about. Thanks, Rafen.

Hello I am the proud owner of a YBR 125, it's not the fastest thing around but I ride it into work every day. Unfortunately this morning I found that some thug has nicked all the bolts holding my front disc to the wheel (presumably thinking he'd be able to wheel it despite the disc brake lock), and apparently he got frustrated, and has smashed the internals of my ignition, slashed the seat, tank, and generally tried to break my bike. I've ordered a replacement ignition, but I can't find the disc bolts, I know they are 8mm Button Hex Bolts, 20mm long, but i don't know the thread pitch, anyone know what it is or where I can get some cheap? Many Thanks in advance

Hi Guys My 1997 xj600 was stolen last night, I've now got it back, however the ignition switch wiring has been butchered, someone in the past has cut it back and fitted spade connectors, there are 4 wires coming out of the switch but 6 wires in 2 block plugs, I have connected the wire together according to colour, it turning over but not firing

Hey guys, was thinking about cutting a few inches off my stock exhaust. Not only is it really long and at risk of getting damaged quite easily, its fairly scratched and dented at the end so cosmetically it doesn't look great. Im aware it'll make the bike a bit louder which isnt an issue for me, I've read mixed reviews on it altering performance and can't get a definitive answer. So will cutting 4 inches or less off the end make any performance drops?

Lately the key has been getting really hard to turn and get out of the ignition. I'm putting it down to the cold weather and assume it needs lubing. Before I spray WD40 into the ignition I want to make sure what the correct thing to do is? Thanks.

Ok Peeps just a quick question. I have Mikuni carbs on my FJ, now I thought as it was winter and I usually take the bike apart and check stuff that this year it was the turn of the carbs to get a through cleaning and refurb, so I took them apart and, long story short, I f++ked one of the carbs, (Bugger!!) anyway I have a spare set so not a major drama but now I have a set of 3 instead of a set of 4 so can anyone tell me what actual carbs fit my bike? I mean can I buy a single Mikuni carb and convert it using the jets and stuff from the broken one to make it the same as the one I screwed? Is there a number on the carb body that tells me what model carb it is? or how do I i…

Hey guys recently had a small crash on my ybr. Bike was fine but the only problem was I broke my clutch lever. I bought a clutch lever online which came with a new clutch cable, so I decided to change the old one. Changed the clutch lever/cable no problem. I was riding it for a week or so back and forth to work with no problems. Then one morning I tried to ride it. Jumped on and pressed the clutch lever and there's nothing there, no resistance at all. I've adjusted the cable at the lever and the midway point on the cable to there loosest setting but it didn't make any difference to my clutch. I don't understand why this is happening, anybody got any ideas/ advice? p.s I…

My sr 250 exhaust valve seat broke off the stem and now I am having a difficult time removing stem I've used the compression tool to push spring down and get at the collets but its not working out. The seat broke off apparently a while before it just stopped running and destroyed the piston head. I have the new parts for her but can't get that stem out. How Does one get the rocker arm off, does it have to come off to get stem out? Any ideas? I've thought about using heat on it would that be an option I should consider? thanks

Hey guys. So I'm fitting a new speedometer to my yamaha xt 125 x 2010, a koso dbo1r I think it's called. Any way, I stripped the bikes panels off, took out the old speedometer and began wiring my new one in. When I had wired the power cables I tested the Speedo/bike by connecting the battery back up and watching the speedo light up as it should. At that point I started my bike too just to check if it would. After that I began wiring the rest of the speedo, this including a 'rpm wire' which connected to the ignition coil. I then tested the bike again to find nothing. No electrics and therefore the bike wouldn't start either. I checked the ground and changed the fuse. Nothi…
