Id like to lower the rear end so that I can get more foot on the deck, this has turned up while searching http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZ6-Fazer-S2-RJ14-2009-MFW-Lowering-Kit-Drop-35mm-/130768980805 I reckon it replaces a longer link on the shock, would I need to lower the front end too ? Any advice greatly appreciated Thanks

  4. Hey guys finally got a new XT125R 2007 currently equipped with motocross tyres that definitely wont pass the MOT can anyone please guide me as to where I can find some decent road legal enduro tyres and/or how I can tell what tyres are road legal. I've scoured the internet but can't make sense of it some of them look good but don't look road legal any help/suggestions would be great thanks guys. current front tyre size 90/90-21 current rear tyre size 110/100/-18 however mcn review says 120/80 x 18 (one of the reasons I'm confused are because of numbers like these not matching)

Hi! I'm new to the forum (literally just joined!) but have found the various posts here really useful for fixing bits on my Virago XV 125. I have one problem which I am struggling to solve however, and I can't seem to find much information on it, although please correct me if I am wrong. There's a few symptoms and all are pretty intermittent, worse on some days and better on others: When riding the bike and coming towards a junction/roundabout/etc I clutch in, change down a gear, give it some throttle...but there is suddenly no revs (this is even before letting the clutch out). It literally just does nothing for about a second, then it'll spring to life, h…

Hey peeps. Just wanting to pick ya'alls brains and see if anyone could tell me what size engine bearings I would be needing for a full rebuild, the ones that are in it currently are noisy so I'm stripping and replacing the lot, but it would be nice to have all the new ones ordered before I do. It's a 1982/83 12W. Ta much Foameh

Hi all. Noticed a few days ago my spanking new bike (almost) has a 1 inch scratch on the tank. Something I must have done getting off the bike, zipper etc. What would be a sensible way to repair this, its down to the metal, an inch long, and 1/2mm wide. Thanks

Hi Guys, Thanks for helping me out last time. TDM is running like a dream with the exception of a very nasty grinding noise coming from the gearbox when I accellerate in 3rd. I have accepted the fact that my gearbox is shot and fully intend to do a strip and re-build in the summer however I need to ask a few questions. Firstly, how easy would it be to do the strip and re-build for a first timer? I will not be pushed for time as I wont need the bike until next winter so that would give me plenty of time to complete the task. Secondly would it be easier to purchase a new engine and swap them over? One of the reasons that I dont want to do this is that I know the engine …

Hey all, I'm in the process of doing a full resto on a 1974 DT175. While I had all the crankcase split, I replaced all the seals in the engine with new ones. Weird thing is that they didn't include the shift shaft oil seal. Not a huge deal, I can find one somewhere for a few bucks. What I'm concerned about is the amount of play in the shift lever. It has an odd linkage were it basically pivots in a hole in the crankcase. It seems to have a ton of play. Like, it moves an inch up before in actually starts to engage the mechanism. I dont think its the play in the linkage, I believe its the play in the seal around the shaft/the hole the shaft rests in. Sorry for the conf…

  11. Hello. Couple of questions if I might 1. Noticed this morning that my left hand indicator 'flasher' on the dash has stopped. Indicator works (clicks as well), but there is no flashing green arrow. Right hand side is fine. Popping down to my local bike shop tomorrow, and he asked if I could remove the bulb to identify/replace it. I've checked the manual, and can't seem to find if there is a simple method to access the bulbs on the dash? 2. I'm finding its often tricky to find neutral, I either get a green light, and its a false neutral, or it just clicks up from 1st, and it goes into 2nd. I know this seems to be a known issue on YBRs, but it seems to happen ev…

Hi All, again electrical problems, bane of my life... My YBR125 '09 stood outside for about 6 days, exposed to the elements, and now all the indicators have stopped working. None of the bulbs are blown, and I checked each connection, it's putting out 0.03 volts to each light. I'm sure the relay used to give a slight ticking when a indicator was on, but now it will give a slight tick when the indicator is selected, and the amperage goes from 0 to 1 Do I need to replace my relay? can I break the seal and fix it myself? Thanks in advance

Hi Guys, I know this isn't a yamaha (please feel free to move or remove as required) however this forum is the only place I have ever managed to get solid answers for my projects. The bike in question is a 2008 Hyosung GV250. I have removed the airbox and carbs for cleaning and would like to modify it with aftermarket parts. - However as this is my first time working on an engine, I haven't got much of a clue as to what I am doing here. I would like to remove the AIS and whatever it is that clutters the engine up. I have attached a diagram as to what I plan to do - if you could please let me know if this will work or if there is anything I should be doing instead. T…

Hey, I have a 2005 Dragstar 650 with 28k miles on her. Recently the speedo cable broke on me and when I drove it, and tried to redline it , the engine management light would come on and a rev limiter would kick in , like the bike was choking itself , there was 3 flashes of the engine management light when the kill switch was hit So I replaced the speedo cable thinking it was that causing the issue but its still happening :S Now there is 4 flashes of the engine management light instead What has changed since before this happened: *Engine oil change *HID kit installed ( No wires modified to do this - its plug & play) *Basic alarm installe…

  19. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had the knowledge to help me, I have a Yamaha DT 125, I have owned the bike since December and it hasn't missed a beat until last week when a rev problem occurred. (The bike wont rev past 6000-7000 RPM) The bike is fully de-restricted, hence the CDI but I know its not the cdi as it revved smoothly and freely until the other week. The bike has the Athena 170CC Top end, Dep pipe, PV Servo connected up and all jetted properly by a garage, I know the issue isn't carburettor related as I have stripped and cleaned it, Also I have given it a full service but it still occurs. The complete engine was rebuilt in November 2014 by a garage…
