Hi folks, I've been a biker for a year now and just now I need to get some new front pads for my '96 YZF600R Thundercat. I've been looking at Ferodo or EBC HH rated pads, can people please give me their opinions on brake pads, be it these or some others! Thanks

Hi guys I have following problem with my Yamaha. The spark plugs needs replacing but when I tried to take one of them out it took ages to do it. and that was one of those that are easier to take out. So how can i take out those two middle ones? I have no acces from the top as Carburettors are making it impossible to take them out. So any idea how to do it? I ordered from www.wemoto.com a set of 4 Bosh Spark Plugs and when they arrive I want to fit them straight away.

Hello All, This is my first post, and my first Yamaha! What’s happened is the f/r/h/s disc has started to warp and I have been looking to replace this part. However, along the way I have stumbled across sites where owners have converted to R1 discs and calipers... Is this easy conversion and is it actually worth doing? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks Moosa

i was looking at the new YRB250 the other day, and what a sweet little run-around it would be!! looking at the specs, i see it is fuel injected and not normally asperated (no carb). this got me thinking if people can chip thier cars, how long before you will be able to buy upgraded electronics for bikes at the small end of the market? you can buy alsorts of of whizzbangtecnicery for your 2-strokes these days, but sadly strokers are dying out so could the fact that bike makers are going over to electronic fuel delivery systems for most bikes be a blessing in diguise??? how long before you can buy an 18/21 bhp standard bike= YRB250, go on flea-bay to g…

First things first - the PDIL's (Prospective Daughter-In-Law) wee SR flew through the MOT on Friday afternoon, clean sheet, no advisories - woohoo! Now, riding it the 8 miles each way gave me an insight into just how gutless this little motor is, it just managed 60 on a long (mile plus) downhill incline, and holding 50 meant doing the left foot tap dance. Fair enough I'm 6ft and 15 stone, but the lad's old Suzy EN125 would pull 75 with me pinning it down, so it can't be impossible. It's currently running standard gearing and I'm considering dropping a tooth on the front and going up one on the back to let it rev out in top - comments/suggestions? It just feels l…

Hi guy's I have a Yamaha MT-03 2008 model and I am loving it to bits. I was hoping that someone can offer some advise. On the open road the bike revs at 5500 RPM (Red lines at 6500) at 120KMS, I would like to drop the revs by say 500 RPM. Has anyone done this before? see the local support is well not what it should be as here in South Africa there are not many of these bikes. I know that this is a "Trial and Error" exercise but as you know, money is the problem. Looking forward to your suggestions. Trevor

1990 FJ1200 Do I need to use an impact wrench? My service manual doesn't say how to remove the bolt. I don't want to do any damage, but the damn thing doesn't want to come off. What I am worried about is that it may be a clockwise bolt. Any ideas?

I bought a Yamaha Aerox 3 months ago. I had to brake the engine apart due to having to replace the crank bearings. It put it back together now i am getting a squeaking noise from the flywheel which could possibly be rubbing on the dynimo and whatever is squeaking seems to be slowing the crankshaft down which cuts the engine out. I would be glad of any advice on what this could be or how i could find out the problem. Thank you in advance Tom G

Hi I will be looking to change the tyres on my TDM 850 for the new season (once weather finally improves). The bike currently has Bridgestone Battlax BT45R tyes front and rear 110/80-18(front) and 150/70-17 on the rear these tyres are old and worn and brick hard to boot. I have also found the bike to be guilty of tram lining quite badly and wondered what my options would be should i go for a wider front to cure the tramlining and a softer compound for grip etc . If anyone could reccomend a tyre size /type and manufacturer for this type of bike i would be very grateful.

Hiya all, Been having a read through a load of posts to try and find some info, but thought itd be worth posting to see if anyone has any ideas.. Story is: I Have a 1991 XJ 600 (pre divvy), its been stood for a few weeks with all the crap weather weve been having, so went to fire it up yesterday without any joy. fully charged the battery (its only a couple of months old anyway, but flattened it trying to start for too long), blast of easy start in the airbox and vrooooooom, sure enough it starts..... After about ten minutes or so, it cut out, no stuttering or spluttering, just died like flicking the kill switch. Lights still on etc. Tried to fire it back…

Hello! Just registered here, and wants to check if anyone knows of any good tricks to tune the Yamaha YZF-R125. Well, I have already fitted the Power Commander 5 and Devil slip-on exhaust for performance, but still it only does 135km/h.. Anyone know of any good maps for the power commander or any other tricks to make it go any faster? (Except new cylinder). Will add some pictures aswell! Would also appreciate any links to sites where I can buy performance parts and accessories. Thanks! Greetings Kim

The gas tank on the bike I'm restoring has a bit of rust on the interior. It's nothing major just enough to make your finger a little orange if you run it inside it. I've heard all sorts of ways to clean it ranging from BBs to Muratic acid but I'd like to get some proffesional advice from you pros! I'd like to keep it as simple as possible and not coat the inside with any plasticy material. Edit: Upon searching, I came across this site: http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Removing_rust_from_a_gas_tank It's for mopeds but the amount of info here is great, deals with just about any way you could think of cleaning your tank out.

Hey Guys, hope you are well. I bought an FZR 400 from an auto jumble in september. had to change the carbs but managed to get another set off another fzr( both are italian imports)which seem better as the replacements have metal inlets/outlets. The bike was running but didn t actually ride down the road as it was pretty ceased from standing for a long while. When my friend and i had spent time working on it, it was finally time for a test ride. I rode out onto the road and straight into an uphill, where the bike lost power and cut out, it did this a number of times before i got to the top of the hill, it went good on the flat until i hit 80mph when it lost power and died,…
