    hi all iv got a stubborn xv 125 that refuses to start up on its own (i have to give it a push down a big hill ) iv done the usual checks, carb, battery, plugs, coils, ht leads, starter motor, ect ect. and im stumped! it started ok if i bumped it but then when riding hard it would bog down and die (think it was too lean )so i re jetted it, still had to bump it but it road allot better. but now i cant start it at all! after 4 attempts and nearly having a heart attack iv given up and decided to seek help plus the bike would run and start fine when warm but if i left it for 10 min or more then id have to bump it again to get it going! i just dont know whats up with it …

  3. Hi all, right I am in need of new sprockets and chain but dont know what to go for These are the choices I have )-Rinf or X-Ring Chain ?? O-Ring Chain (never heard of) 1st Choice 2nd Choice or ....this one and.... an AFAM Set sprockets and Chain (520 Race) ,,,what does that mean?? Whats best for my bike. Soooo many choices.. Also.... the OHLINS Preload adjuster (which way do I turn this) Thanks

    Hi everyone small problem with the Tcat,bike was stood for only about a month but now when striking up it runs but misses,so took for a run and at high speed (80 +) runs smoothly,have changed plugs and air filter and now thinking of striping carbs unless any one has any other ideas. cheers

    I have an Aerox R 50cc 57 plate ive had alot done to it for speed and it gets between 70-75mph but it has no acceleration and wont go up hills well, does anyone know what i can do. Also im getting a new exhaust should i get a leo vince zx or a pm tuning exhaust and im getting a new variator should i get malossi or polini?

  6. Mate of mine is shoehorning a FZR 1000 EXUP motor into his FZX 750... Engine fits OK, but the problem is the exhaust: QUOTE: "i just been offered a complete exhaust with power valve,vance and hines can, and servo, cdi,cables, etc, for £100 i am just thinking buy that ,it might save me some hassle, i wonder if its just a case of putting power to the servo and wire to the cdi, or if there are any relays involved, any one know ?"     Hi, i have a tdr 125-1998y.JAPANESE W. i was told that the barrel on a 1998 has a nicasil sleeve and that it useses a flat top piston.It has 33,000 and i want to change the piston and piston rings,can anybody help me since i cant find enywhere a servis manual for tdr 1998,i bought the bike when it had 30,000.please exuase me for my english I come from bosnia ,the guy that i bought the bike didnt change anything,i would also like to know on how many kilometers do i have to change the piston and rings again 10,000 - 20,000 ? i would be wery thenKful if anyone can help.

    Hi there, I'm looking to buy my first bike and don't have a great deal of knowledge in the area. I have seen a YBR125 advertised, 2 years old and £750. The guy advised me that all the bulbs (i.e. headlight, indicators, tail lights) needed replacing. This just screamed electrical problem to me - and the price for such a new bike almost seems to suggest that the seller is aware of this and has possibly even tried to fix it himself with no success?! Could anyone give me some advise on whether this bike is worth the risk if the body os in good condition etc?! Many thanks in advance!

  9. This bike is doing my nut in !!! Ive had a few problems but this one has only just come to light as ive only just got my cbt. The bike starts and idles fine, but when its riden for say a mile or so, the engine bogs down and cuts out. As if when it gets up to correct temperature, it cuts out. It wont start again staight away, but after leaving it for 5 mins its starts but it can only be riden for a short distance before it cuts out again. Ive tried setting the fuel/air mix as described in my haynes manual but it still cuts out, Then again to me a haynes manual seems its written in a foriegn language sometimes so a human explanation would be great. .     Today on the motorway, I overtook a car and pulled into the middle lane, eased on the throttle but the bike only kept on increasing the speed...twisted the throttle a few times and it did not respond..it was getting very dangerous... pressed the clutch and the engine was revving like mad...I managed to pull on the hard shoulder and switched off the engine. Checked the throttle cable and the linkages....it was all ok so I started the bike again and it started screaming at maximum revs....Any ideas anyone....arranging for the local dealer to pick the bike and have a look at it....once done it has to go..and also I was told they have discontinued making the Fazers...

    hiya, i was working on my yzf600r it started and was running fine, but then two hours later i tried to startit and nothing happened then it did a massive back fire. so i got to work first i charged the battery incase it didn't have a strong enough spark to ignite the fuel and then a weak spark did and caused the backfire. chraged it and still the same problem. so i moved onto the carbs i cleaned thenout i found that the vacum holes were blocked with grime so cleaned them and everthing else till theywere shiny. put the carbs back on and tryied to start it nothing but the huge backfire was totally gone now so one of the carbs must have been over fueling. sinc…

    Hi I have a Yamaha Dragstar 650. I've only recently started riding it regularly. Yesterday I had trouble getting the steering lock off, but with wriggling the key a little I managed to do it. I had the same problem this morning, only I couldn't get the key to turn at all. Someone came out to help, and managed to get the lock off, but had trouble turning the key to get the ignition on. They managed to do it, but I have not gone into work today in case I can't manage to do it myself when I am trying to come home! Is it likely to be a faulty barrel? Can anyone help? Thank you

    Help, can any body suggest where I can get a set of inlet rubbers for a 1989 xj600? Tried find a part, and all my local breakers nothing Yamaha want £230 for a set!!! Wemoto want £102 a set Will the rubbers from another model fit? As a tempory fix I have superglued rubber inner tubes around them to seal them but don't how long it will last ? Thanks Tony

    I've had the Er-1 fault appear on my 57 Reg Fazer. The engine and the temp light came on, rev counter and speedo stopped working. Checked all electrical connections...now the light is intermittent...had the bike serviced at Xmas. The local Yamaha dealers are shut on Mondays. Any idea what the fault may be...the engine runs perfect..

    Hello, I have a 1986 FZ600 and it was running great for awhile, but it started acting weird when I came home this weekend to ride it. I started it up last night, and it ran fine, but after a few minutes it just went dead, even all of the idiot lights and tach/speedo lights went out with the key still in the "on" position. I then turned the key off and back on again and the lights came back on and started right up again. I then go to ride today and it does the same thing where it just goes dead, and I tried turning the key on/off again several times with no luck. There is just no sign of any power to anything when the key is turned on. Can anyone please help me or steer m…

    Hi Guys, I bought a rather sorry looking 1992 SR125 last year for a sum of £150. Its been off the road for around 2 years, it drove when I got it but no tax and needed re-testing (over two years without tax - no mot on the isle of man) and it needed a new clutch lever, cable, break lever and front brake cable. I replaced the two levers and I'm in the process of fitting the cables back on but I'm having a little difficulty. I removed the front wheel and repainted the forks as they were badly corroded (also wanted to tidy it up for test time) but I seem to have lost the front castle nut. Does anyone know the size of the nut or a link to where I can buy one? I…

    Checked EVERYTHING !!! Still can't get this thing to run at high revs. Checked reed valves and I've found a massive difference between the two stopper heights. I don't have the EXACT manual for this bike as we've yet to determine exactly which model this is. It was sold to us as a 2001 TZR 125R but we have since been told by our local agent that this is actually a 1995 TZR 125???? I presume the stopper heights are the same as the '93 model and that the two stopper heights should be set the same? Stopper height in the manual I've got is 8.3mm (0.327") Can anyone help?

    HI all Just starting out in the biking world and i have purchased a TZR 125. All was well but with bike, running nice and everything as normal as could be. However, I returned to the bike next day to discover that when turning the ignition on and attempting to firing it up via the start button, nothing.. i did however manage to jump start it and being a new, that was a pig to do.. I checked what i could, battery - fully charged, horn and indicators - both worked fine. Then moved onto head lights, nothing and the both foot and hand brake nothing.. as well as the igintion start button.. I've looked at the wiring diagram in the hope that i could make sense of w…

    Hiya all. I have a 77 DT-400 This is the first 2 stroke bike I've ever owned. It has 8k miles on it and it looks to be in pretty good shape. I want to get it looking and running great. I would like some help in locating repair manuals or repair procedures so I can start getting it in tip-top shape. Right now it starts great (now that I learned the trick to a kick start) and runs strong. When I'm driving it, unless I'm actually advancing the throttle, it makes a banging/knocking sound and it kind of jerks forward (like when you don't know how to drive a stick).
