Hello From a not so warm New Zealand. I would like to convert my STD indicators to LED's. For my 1991 DT 50 LC I have 7 LED's connected in parallel. used the link below to calculate the OHM required to power the LED's. I have connected them and the indicator work fine BUT as I have limited knowledge of electronics, my problem is the indicators do not flash now. So temporary measures I have connected one normal bulb and one set of led's to get the flashing effect. So I am hoping there is a electronics Guru on the forum to give me so advice? Thank you Hector http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/h405/hectic007/

I am now stuck looking for new parts, i have my new stanchions and have removed one of the old ones but when looking at the mess that is left behind after the last person to do any work on the front forks leaves no doubt that they must have used the hole tube of tread locking compound putting the old stanchions in. What is left of the fine thread of my up-side down forks leaves me in no doubt to replace the bottom part of my forks that the stanchion gose in, now here is where i keep getting a blank, to me there wheel brackets that the spindal gose through holding the wheel in place but when i look online find nothing! so i must be wording it wrong, i know what i am lookin…

Ive got a 1976 TY250 and the throttle cable has snapped at the twist throttle and at the oil injector. I havent been able to find an exact replacement but i was told that it is possible to bypass the oiler and just run straight to the carb. But i was also told that this would starve the main bearings of oil as just a premix fuel will not deliver enough oil to it. Suggestions?

Hi There, Sorry that this is only my second post here and I am already asking for help. I will try and return a few favours based on my limited knowledge where I can. I have recently purchased an XVS125 Dragstar and am having problems starting it. It is ridden every day and when I go to it first thing in a morning I have to turn the engine over for maybe 30 seconds or more before it fires up (this is with full choke on too) - when it eventually does it doesn't roar to life immidiately, but splutters as though only a tiny mount of fuel is getting through. It helps if I hold the throttle in the full on position too. It is like the fuel has gone back down the pipe and …

But if I have the head light on and use the indicators all the light go dim and brit. Please can you give me some pointer as to what the issues could be? Thank you. Hectic.

Hi all, been having some problems with a 'flat spot' on my bike for a while now and it's really starting to annoy me. The bike is a Yam XT 125 R carbourated 4 stroke, ~4500 miles on the clock. The bike runs pretty much fine, has plenty of power, can reach 60mph no problem. Just when the engine is warm, ticking over steadily about 1500rpm (as recommended), and I'm at some traffic lights for example. If I leave the engine ticking over for any more than about 10 seconds and I apply ANY amount of throttle, the engine 'bogs' down a little, sounds like its going to stall, then picks up again. I've replaced the plug, checked spark (was blue when plug was new, gone yellow…

hi all im cracking on with the xvs bobber got the v5 back from the dvla with the engine change and all is well my question is a bit of a weird one but how many engine mounts do you need? im asking cause at the moment mine has 2, top and bottom at the back, there made out of 4mm thick steel (that stuff that is fookin solid and needs to be professionally machined as it will eat up any commercial tool bits) they hold the engine perfectly to the frame and if anything, the engine will snap before they do but would it pass an mot with only 2 mounts instead of 3? iv only got a little 125cc 14bhp engine so in my eyes it wont cause a problem.....but im not sure…

Help please, I think the Fuel pump on my bike is knackered, its been stood for a while and I had trouble starting it, eventually when I filled the tank right up it started on full choke, but was rough, would not idle and stalled when the choke was taken back. I could not hear any Noise from the tank when the ignition went on. I have removed the fuel pump and connected the pump unit directly to the battery (black to neutral and blue to live) and there is nothing. I guess from reading a number of the posts on here that the fuel pump is broken. Its the internal type. I have another on the way from ebay, but that one is also faulty, although it is described as having a wirei…

hello everyone Im new to this forum stuff, but in the past few weeks i have had growing frustration because i cannot find anywhere on the internet and aftermarket exhaust for my XT 125 to improve proformance and sound. A couple of nights ago i was browsing the internet for information on my newly purchased XT and i read that the 05 model (XT) has got 12 BHP and that the 06 (XT) 10 BHP. This is because Yamaha have replaced, or done something to the exhaust to limit it. So i was wondering if anyone can point me in in right direction for such an exhaust or web site, it would be much appriciated. thanks alot …

Hi all, new to the forum but here goes; I've just lashed out another £90 to have the carb rebuilt on my girlfriends XT125 buy a yamaha dealer who spent 5 hours (he's a good bloke to only charge me for 2) getting the bike to run fairly smoothly but still with an irratic tickover. So far the choke plunger has siezed, the float chamber has stuck twice Bideford high street has been flooded with my fuel and the jet has blocked once. It's done 4500 miles, been serviced regularly, never pressure washed, treated with exotic perfumes such as AC-F1. Yamaha UK deny any design faults or recalls and blame low quality fuel, but I'm not convinced. Have any other owners had similar pro…

Hi! I was just playing with the idea and wonder if its possible to convert a XT125 to Fuel Injection? Since the YBR125 has the same engine but with fuel injection wouldnt it be possible to take the "injection part" and put were the carburator sits in the XT? And ofc the electrical stuff needed. What would you need to do to make it work? (if even possible) Would there be any benefits? Thx in advance
