Hi Y'all. I have an aged and loved T80 (1983) still going fine BUT I needed a new exhaust. I found loads listed on ebay at around 35-50 quid and got one- fitted poorly (too short) but went on after some fettling! However its really noisy- MOT inspectors commented on it although only as an advisory. I see the look of disappointment on the faces of teenage girls who clearly expect something more spectacular from the tjroaty roar that announces my arrival and as a cheap runaround this is really not meant to disturb the peace. I don't want to get another pipe in case its just the same- so does anyone know a good source of an exhaust that does actually silence the engine? T…

I'm having problems with my '81 sr250, I had had it running great and then I had problems with it starting, I can push start it OK after a few tries, and I do not have a kickstarter installed, the last time I had it running from a kick start it was running lean, and I figure this would be due to a problem with the mixture screw which I have yet to mess with. When I try to start the bik it wil turn over but will not fire, I was wondering if this would all be due to a problem with the mixture screw or wat else it could be any help would be great!!!

Hallo there I just bought myself a Virago 535 and it came equipped with a pair of ancient Bridgemans. I've heard varying stories of the quality of this brand. Has any one any suggestions as to what tyres I should buy for this bike? All the best Dave

Hi All, wonder if you might be able to help, took the lump out for a spin in the sunshine and had to brake hard for some muppet in his car who couldn't make up his mind which way to go and had a LOUD clang from the rear brake drum, pulled over to see what was what and the rear brake linkage was wrapped around the axle 3 times, now I KNOW it was not like that when I left home thought I and further inspection showed that the torsion bar bolt had sheared off which meant that the brake pivot spun around the rear axle before the bolt on the linkage broke off, lucky I didn't go over the bars really as the brakes were locked solid. Now I have it back in the garage I can't get th…

Well, at the side of the road again. just south of Jocks Lodge if anyone's passing..I was heading into Edinburgh andI had a bit of vibration whilst cruising so I down shifted and slowed and all was fine, I though it was actually the road surface. I pulled over and checked as much as I could and all seemed fine so I carried on my way. Bad choice. About a mile into town the bike got really rough and sounded like a bag of spanners then died. I put it into neutral and started it, sounded just as bad. So now I'm sitting in the lovely sunshine waiting for the RAC. I've just noticed some oil sepage from cycl 4 but other than that everthing seems fine. There was no smoke etc and …

Wondering if anyone can help - I've got an XVS650 Dragstar and on returning to it after winter, I've noticed that the gearshift pedal is loose (ie moving from side to side) and its difficult to change gears as a result. Its probably been knocked by someone/something as its on the street most of the time. Its been garaged at a mate's house so I can't get to it easily but I'm going there this weekend to try and sort it out. Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there something I can tighten easily, or does it need me to fit a new circlip? If so - I;ve never done this before, is it easy? Can I get a circlip that'll do the job from anywhere or only from a bike dealer? So…

As usual HELP!!!!!! my yb had just passed its mot, then it began missing at the top of second third and fourth. Then throughout third and fourth. it slowly faded from there. Now it just won't start. I have checked the spark and it looks good, I have looked at the fuel system and again looks good. Spoke to someone who suggested the condenser. Is this possible and how would I check. I appreciate that you guys have much more knowledge and experience with these (usually) great bikes, so any input is appreciated

Hi guys, Im in need of getting paint matched for my xj900. i dont have the color codes as the bikes been triked but the bike still has its own body and the frame needs touched up along with new handle bars to match the frame. so its a 94' XJ900s Div'. see the frame is not the same color as the body, the body is dark pearl #2 i think. you know that greeny color and the frame is a lighter turkwisy color.. these are the orignal colors of the bike too. frame is what needs matched. 19. Greetings, I am in need of some of your divine knowledge. Long story short, I'm trying to get my Yamaha Sr125 back on the road, it was knocked over by the local Muppet (not the Bert and Ernie type), whom out of the kindness of there hearts decided to knock the crap out of my bike. When I tried starting her up and released the choke, the bike idled ok but when I applied the throttle the engine died. I think it was flooding. I am wondering if this could possible be a carb related problem and if so could you please advise me on how to set up the carb. Also a few hours later when I tried to start up the bike. I would get this loud thumping sound but t…
