Hello All, I am new to the forum so apologies if this topic has been covered. I have a DT125x 2004 with crank issues. I have managed to pick up a 2002 dt125r engine, in perfect working order, for less than the cost of rebuilding the 2004. The problem is the the 2004 has electric start, different stator, wiring loom, cdi, regulator rectifier, to the 2002. Is is possible to put the generator assembly and starter motor from the 2004 on the 2002 engine in order to keep the existing wiring loom, cdi ect thats on the bike? Is it as straight forward as it seems?

Gents. Im after diagram of the engine in my WR125r. Theres a couple of parts i want to find out about. 1st is a little black "valve" type with a airpipe from the airbox through this "valve" into my exaust (just down from the manifold) This is just a guess but does it blow Cold air into my exaust to lower emmissions? If so surely this will reduce back pressure obviously reduceing power. Also can anyone reccoment me a full pipe for my bike? Many thanks Paddy

Hi all, I dug my bike out today after it being in storage for 4 years. Yes i know. In this time it hasnt been started or turned a wheel. All the forward controls seem to be in working order, the lights are good and the brakes are working fine however, I chucked a new fully charged battery into, drained out the old fuel and put in some fresh stuff along with an engine decrudder. Guess what, no surprises, it aint running very well at all. It seems only to be firing on one cylinder with the other kicking in occassionally. Tomorrow, Im gonna be replacing the spark plugs and through in some irridium ones to see if this helps but, does anyone know if im gonna have to o…

I need to know what kind / type this light bulb is, not the main lighet .... the sub lighet (the smell one) can some one tell me what kind of light bulb is it? and where can I find service manual to XT125? thank you all.

hi i have had some great help from this site in the past and yet again i need help. i have a 1992 fj1200 abs and for some strange reason it will not start . crossed the starter and it fires up. i check connections as i had them some apart when i was doing some mods can any one help thanks richie

Hi, I have an 81 750 special with an engine that was partially stripped 4 years ago. Since stripping it I have moved about 6 times and have now lost the cams and a few other very top end bits. My question is this. Where can I get parts for it? I've tried eblag etc but am unable to locate them. I'm running at a loss now and am looking to have to buy a new motor. If it gets to that stage, will a 94 motor fit? What will I need to change? I'm sure there's something to do with the electrics that needed changing. Gotta re-wire it anyway so hoping it won't be too big a problem but would rather keep the original motor.

Hi, I've got an '88 750 genesis which i'm working on and i've fitted an uprated rear shock. This has amplified the fact that the front forks are soft as butter. Anyone know of any quick fixes or what other forks will go in? There's a set of R1 forks at my mate's place that are looking tempting!

Hello there, I have had my Dragstar 125cc for about a year. It is 8 years old. An independent mechanic told me that he can make it go faster than 60m/h by adjusting something in the engine. I am sick of being left behind when on Motorway and want to go faster. Would you recommend doing those adjustments or not? can this harm the bike in any way? Thanks anyone

Just a quick question, I am in the process of swapping a 5EB gearbox for a 5SL gearbox in my 200 r6 Jus want some one to confirm this is def going to fit?? Old gearbox is out, New one in the post. Would be nice to get a def answers from some one who knows!

Hi After nearly a year of my son riding his bike, I return with another problem that I hope someone can suggest something. The engine has wrecked the needle roller bearing on the gudgeon pin and damaged the surface of the con rod bearing, plus of course, leaving debris in the crankcase. I need to remove the crankshaft and have stripped down to the point of splitting the crankcase but the crank is holding tight in the bearing on the clutch side. The workshop manual says simply split the two halves by gently tapping! and shows the split halves such that the clutch side comes away from the crank. ive recently bought and put on the road a tzr 125 2RK and was thinkin of puttin a power valve servo kit on her could any one tell me where i can get a full kit from and if any other yamaha kits will fit?? i understand the harness is already designed for one and could anyone give me a rough idea how hard they are to fit

Hey there having a few issues with my 250.got the complete big recently for £100 as a no runner. I plan on using the engine on an off road buggy and selling the rest of the bike. Firstly does anyone know if there is a manual for this bike as I haven't found on yet, I have the manual for my fzr 600 genesis and there are a lot of similarities between the 2. Moving on to my problem.when i got the bike i stripped and rebuilt carbs,checked wiring,spark plugs firing order etc. So all was fine wIth that good spark etc. When I started cranking the engine over there was no life what so ever. I have a 1985 BW200 that is driving me crazy. It will run for 5-10 minutes, then suddenly die. No amount of kicking will restart it, choke or not, gas or not, nothing. If I shut the fuel petcock off, drain the carb bowl, then turn the petcock back on...it will restart immediately and run fine again. 5 minutes later...repeat the process. I've disassembled and cleaned the carb, no change. I've tried putting the jets, needle, etc. from a different carb in mine and it still has the problem. But if I put the entire different carb (from my brother's BW) on mine, it solves the problem. It almost seems like it is getting an air bubble somewhere that fuel can't get past.…

hi i have a xj 600s diversion which wont run it sparks fine has plenty of fuel , fuel pump runs fine spins over great just wont catch and run any body have any ideas ?

Help! Any assistence greatly appreciated. My YZF R6 '99 model does not want to start after the winter hibernation period. The bike is turning over but does not seem to have a spark. Bought new spark plugs (not fitted yet), battery ok, fuses ok, fuel ok but could it be anything else? Bike will not bump start either. Cheers

Hi all. i have a 2003 4pt xt600e didn't do many miles on it last year as it was a bit unreliable( starting probs and cutting out whilst riding) Decided I was putting it back on the road this year, found a loose connection on the electrical unit under tail plastic(secured this and bike ran ok for a short time) checked the rest of loom and found a bare wire on sub loom from positive battery terminal to starter relay(which has fuse and spare fuse slots) replaced this lenght of wire with new sub loom from yamaha,£7.13. bike turned over great after this so assumed it was sorted. fitted heated grips that mrs got me for xmas whilst loom was exposed and put all panels …

Hi all, I have tried to search the forum first - I would like to know what the FZ6 s2 fazer is like with a restrictor on - and how the restrictor works - is it throttle or in the exhaust? MAny thanks for your help Steve
