    Heya, Happy Easter/Spring. I've kind of got an answer to my own question but maybe something useful for someone else in the process....... I've been looking for replacement spokes for a '74 ag 175 (pretty much the same as a DT) and for some reason I've found it difficult to get ones that are original or close to it. Is it just me? I was thinking I could just go into a bike shop and get them but as many would know, bikes from 1974 don't exist for most shops and spokes have changed a bit. I did some reasearch on having some made as well as getting a wheel/bike for spares but I wouldn't be able to get that through my Minister of Home Affairs and Finance. I did eventu…

    hi there! i have recently bought a 98 dragstar 650, and was wondering if there was anything i could do to make the standard factory exhausts sound better? I have been looking at the downturned replacments but really prefer the look of the standard ones but would like a little more noise from them! Thanks for any help Jon

    I Bought An Aerox From A Mate Its Been Sat In His Garden Over A Year And A Half Becuase He Lost The Keys.. I Didnt Give Alot For It So I Thought Before I Spend Anymoney On It I Wana Know It Runs .. So I Disconected The Ignition Barrel And Kicked It Over .. Took It Down The Road And It Then Got Hot .. Is There Somthing Eletrical In The Cooling System ? Any help on this would be superb ! thanks ryan

    Bought my r1 last week, its been stood for about a year, we've cleaned the carbs out ,checked and cleaned the jets, cleaned the airbox, coils all workin, anyone had similar probs or have any suggestion wot it can be ? cheers bradders

    Hi all i purchased a dt175 last saturday 3/4 of the way home it gradually died , i got it to my fathers house were we replaced the spark plug all fine with that , the next thing was the carb as the spark plug wasnt getting wet , so this weekend we stripped the carb which seemed clean we proceded to put back the carb and try starting as normal , at which point we noticed once the carb was full it was constantly overflowing ( had done this before) but writed it self . This time we noticed the spark plug was get fuel as it was wet a good sign, the problem is the fuel overflowing .     Recently laid down my 1992 Seca II. The end of the clutch handel and the rear footrest broke off. I removed the gear shift to get the bearings out of the footrest, and then reattatched it without the new rest (bikes still being repaired). I also removed the clutch handel and then reattatched it. Originally it made a clicking noise as this was being done and now it has ceased. The bike starts up just fine, everything seems to be in order, the engine murmers when i press the clutch down, and the gears shift fully when the bikes off. The only problem is every time i go from neutral to first while its on the bike dies. This is my only form of transportation for the next month…

  9. Hi, i have a mbkx-power same as the tzr50 and yesterday the battery went dead so i fully charges it and now the speedo dont work and it has the same amount of miles on the clock btw its a eletronic speedo what can i do to get this to work again cheers lee

    Hi. Does any one else have problems starting xj600 after 1 week of sleep in garage? I have fuel in that plastic fuel filter. carbs are cleaned. after 20 min of swearing bike starts and runs on 2 cyl. after one min and few backfires engine fires up on all 4 cyl. if bike is started every day it runs nicely. When fuel tap is on pri no fuel runs to 1st cyl. HEEEELP Tnx

    I just bought a 1983 virago xv500 and there is a wire that goes to the clutch lever on the handle bars that is broken off. What is the purpose/function of this electrical connection? Its a single wire that goes into a hole right behind the clutch lever. The bike runs fine and I dont see any funtion that this could be impeding.

    Hi people i'm new to the forum. I was trying to find help for my Rd and signed up but I couldn’t find anything using the search function so I thought I may as well post ! OK, so I have a UK MK3 Rd with working YPVS. However the bike is spluttering and backfiring at about 8.5k rpm. The power valve seems to work OK and I think the rest of the bike is standard. My first thought was the carb but I only have a workshop manual for the mk3 without working ypvs. So does anyone know the jet settings for this ? Also any more ideas why I am having this problem will be very grateful Thanks Truzo.

    I've seen one or two new riders come onto the site with YBR 125s, and they usually have a problem with the RUBBISH lighting. It's a pain, and it's DANGEROUS. I've tried everything, halogen upgrades (instead of the rubbish incandescence factory fitted rubbish), xenons, LEDs, al to no REAL avail. Halogens/Xenons are better, but you can still only see a few meters. I've recently fitted some H3 extra lights, and so I'm sharing my experience with others, so that anyone who comes to the site with a query regarding lights can consider this much safer option than standard bulbs.     Hi, xv virago 125 a question asked by my son, do i check the engine oil level in & top up with the bike resting on its side stand, or hold the bike upright (which makes it hard to see the little spy window on the side) not being sure, thought id ask the question here. Thanks Les

    Hi guys, I'm still working on sorting out this tail light dimming problem when the indicators are on. Had an inspirational thought and bought a LED bulb for the tail light thinking that it would take so little power that sould solve the problem. It didn't ! Now, being aware that electrics are not a strong point of mine, I've been thinking about the regulator. I know, but it's better than counting sheep to go to sleep! Could the regulator be the problem?   17. hello, you may not know me, ive been a member for about 12 mins now lol i came to seek knowledge of dragstars so i might make mine not be broken anyhow, ill try to keep this short i went to the us of a for a bike holiday, i bought a vstar 650 from canada for paperwork reasons rode it 12K (aprox 19000 km)miles around the us (well recamended by the way) and shipped my bike home (not recomended), but its imported, though not registed yet while out there i ran it almost dry of oil in 2 weeks, and from then on topped it up, but useing 10w40, as i couldnt find 10 30, i figured the wrong oil was better then none, anyhow i think i may have over filled it and it s…

    My bike is a 1981 yamaha DT175H ,the problem i have is i need to pull the magneto or flywheel off to change a oil seal and time the bike the manual calls for a yamaha flywheel puller part number 90890-01189 which online the cheapest was $56. bucks which is more than i want to pay for a external threaded nut with a bolt running through it, does anyone know if it is left or right hand threaded and what size the the hole the nut fits into might be,i'm thinking of just making the tool to do the job , a conventional automotive flywheel puller won't work in that tight compartment

  20. I do not know what happened but I noticed (or I am imagining) in the last few days of riding my YZF-R125 that it is as though it has lost some power. It's hard to explain but I can just feel it. The bike has started to make more noise than power. The revs go high but the acceleration is less than what it used to be. Nothing too dramatic of course but I can definitely feel it...and its bugging me! So my question is, should I change the air filter or could there be another underlying problem? Thanks
