    Well I got myself a nice 73 dt 360 but it has a little problem, when you try to kickstart it,it wants to kick back and break your leg {allmost kicked myself it the head when it kicked back} man that hurt. So whats the deal? do thease have a compresson release or what? is it the timeing? help please!!!

    Hi to all , i have a yamaha fzr 400 and i took off the engine and i put a yzf 600 thundercat (2000 year)engine with its harness , but it wont start , the engine is turning but no spark is coming ... any ideas?????? I have checked the pickup coil and the ht coils and the trottle postion senors , they are good...

    hello, ive recently bought a 2003 DTR125...it hasnt got any clocks, im wondering does anyone know which clocks go on it (speedo/temp, speedo/tacho/temp etc) as ive never seen one on a 2003 before...i was hearing it has the speedo/tacho/temp, does the speedo run off a cable going into the drive in the gearbox?? and if so what powers/runs the tacho(rev counter)?? i was told it runs of a cable drive aswell, but i cant see anywere else it would connect to...then i was told by another person the tacho (rev counter) will be run of a wire receiving signal from the cdi???...this the first time ive had a road legal dt...and havent a clue lol...PLEASEE HELPP!!

    I'm renovating a DT125R and had to replace the rear wheel. Now I have done that I CANNOT GET ANY PRESSURE FROM THE REAR BRAKE AND THE BRAKE DOES NOT OPERATE. The rear brake caliper is fixed to the wheel spindle, so when I removed the wheel I (probably incorrectly), I disconnected the rear brake cable from the caliper so that the caliper could be removed connected to the wheel spindle. I have now read that I have made some errors in the way I removed the wheel and in particular the rear brake caliper. The rear brake cable that I disconnected from the caliper has obviously leaked some brake fluid whilst the wheel was replaced. Now I have replaced the wheel/caliper…

    hi just got a 2001 dt 125 r as project bike its just had a top end rebuild at a garage just before i got the bike. problem is now is that i have to bump the bike to start it and once it is running, it runs like a dog and overheats, i have changed the coil n plug i dunno whats up with it can anyone help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Had problems passing emissions test on both my 750 and now the 400 (both 1983, both Maxims). Any ideas out there how to fix this? These carbs don't allow to change air/fuel mixture and timing seems to be pre-set. Thanks.

    Hi, I bought a brand new 11 plate Yamaha YZFR-125 (2010 model I think) on March 1st, lovely bike, had no trouble with it, until around 3 weeks ago I reckon, when it began "burbling" in 1st gear, it didnt stall, but the engine didnt sound like it was doing many rpm, yet my idle rpm said 1.5k, it sounded clunkier. Well I rode it Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd washed it, started it up, it was below the 1.5k rpm, got up to it, and then went down and stalled. I tried again, got it fired up and stayed at 1.5k. Turned it off. Monday 23rd it doesnt start, the ignition is making the grgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgr noise but it just wont open the engine and get it going, the one time it did it…

    Alright guys, My ignitor unit has burnt out on my FZR400 Genesis 1WG. Im struggling to come across a new unit for the Genesis 1WG. Would a 1WG EXUP ignior unit work? They have the same plugs as i can see from the pics the only difference is the EXUP unit has the extra plus for the powervalve. Will this work, Thanks any help will be appreciated. Billy.

    when i first got my bike it didnt run right at all i put it down to water in the fuel an a mini moto throttle an cable since replaceing the above it runs ok when not in gear the engine will happily rev an when riding in first an second it seems ok however when in 3 rd it sems to take ages to pick up an then cuts out could it be a faulty coil that is breaking down under load

    hi i got a dt 125 r as a project all going well top end rebuilt runs well apart from now its started leaking fuel out the over flows on the carb i striped it down and it seems all ok can any1 help please

    hi i have done a few top end rebuilds in the past and never used gasket sealant but i have never rebuild a top end on a dt i have just ordered "Athena Italy top end gasket set" http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/DT_125_R/01-03/picture/Gasket_Set_-_Top_End_-_Athena_Italy/ i noticed a lot of people use some sort of gasket sealant on there dts should i ??????

    Evening all! Yesterday I considered changing the oil in my forks as I am experiencing heavy steering when in traffic. Out comes the manual and when I have read it I go to the bike to weigh the job up. Now then, the manual tells me that both tubes should be exactly at the same level and level with the top yolk.My query is this. My o/s tube is about one inch above the yolk, and my n/s one about half an inch! Can anyone suggest why this might be the case? The bike is a 1997 with 7000 miles on it and from documents I have has been regularly serviced. Thanks chaps!

    Hi Everyone, I bought a 1982 Yamaha DT50MX for a first bike (as a 16 year old), and seem to have a reoccurring fault; It starts fine (1st or 2nd kick) and will run and rev normally, until after about 6-7 minuites (after the engine becomes warm it seems) it will start to stutter and eventually die. It then cannot be started again until cold, unless bump started. So far, we have made sure there is sufficient petrol and 2 stroke oil. Taken apart the carb and replaced the pilot jet, and adjusted the carb settings multiple times. I also cannot seem to find a similar problem in the haynes manual. Any advice will be much appreciated, cheers

    Changed the oil on the Virago 125 today, including a new filter and new sump plug and washer. It's the first time it's been done since I bought the bike last year, as it was allegedly done the week I got it, and I'd hazard a guess that it had been as the filter I removed wasn't too badly off. Can't comment on the oil as I've been topping it up due to a bad seal on the drain bolt (hence the new one and washer) caused the bike to leak a small amount of oil over time. Anyway, aside from leaving it far too long all went okay apart from the frontmost bolt for the oil filter cover (well it's more a big screw than a bolt really ) had it's head stripped. Had to use molegrips…

    my bike passed mot but got an advisory for having no brake pedal return spring ( click pics to enlarge) the garage gave me this spring an told me to fit it Uploaded with ImageShack.us however i cant see anywhere that it can fit to , an there already seems to be a spring coming from the brake light switch Uploaded with ImageShack.us also i d like the brake pedal to sit lower how do i achieve this do i need to adjust the bolt in the pic Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    hi all just thought i would share my information on my wr125x headlight . i bought the bike 5 weeks ago new and when out in the dark the headlight was rubbish when been passed by another vehicle i couldn't see so i decide to go and get hold of some xenon max bulbs 60/55w(h4) these are made by ring i fitted these to my bike and tested all the wiring for any excessive heat (signs of excessive load) and they was fine Ive been running this light for the last 2 weeks and have had it on for periods up to 4 hours on both beams and the wires are taking it fine . the only thing i will say is that the headlight lens does become quiet warm (not red hot tho) but once u get going down…
