Hello Peeps, Long time no post. My bike is running really well, now I have sorted out the compression (silencer had a crack in it). Now thats she's up and running properly I'd like to modify it a little more. I've got some Boyeson reeds and a ramair pod filter in the post. I'm planning on re-jetting too obviously but wanted to know a little more about the carb in my bike first. My research says its a Mikuni TM28SS but I cant find out whether this carb is a CV (Constant Velocity) carb or not or even if its the right carb at all!??! Do any of you guys know? Cheers $t0F

My new bike is now officially run-in and serviced, so today I braved my first trip into work. The reason I hadn't done it sooner is because: A. I live in Glossop, and work in Leeds. So for those of you who don't know, that's a 50 mile one-way trip when I drive on the motorway and a 38 mile trip on back roads with my CBT and a 125. A total of 100 or 72 mile round trip, depending B. It's a hilly ride so with a 125, revving can't be avoided and I didn't want to over-rev a new bike C. It's taken a while to save up and buy clothing suitable for a cold ride over the Pennines in the morning D. I'm new to riding, so I've been focussing on building up my confidence on two wh…

Folks, what all is needed for chain and sprocket replacement? Do I need any special tool for this job? Any DIY thread etc?

Ive got a 77 xs360 thats having trouble stayin running. It wants to start when cold first kick, but once i start driving it and pull the clutch in to down shift it shuts off. It will jump start up again when i dump the clutch but if i dont it wont start until i give it time to cool down. Idk what it is maybe it just needs a good tune up. Any ideas?

O.K chaps i,ve been riding for about 3 years on and off,mostly a 125 and then a cbf500 for about 3 weeks,now i want to get a bigger bike,i,m no youngster and would be called middle aged by most.I have been looking at a fz6 but have been told that i would soon get sick of this bike with having to change gear to often when touring doing the motorway journey,s they have said get the fz1 but do you guy,s think there would be too much torque in this bike having only ridden what i have or would you think i should be o.k. PS i have no desire to be a boy racer at my age,just want to be lazy as to not have to change gear when overtaking on the long journeys. Regards Ady

I have a 1972 Yamaha 360 RT2. When I was taking the motor apart there were metal peaces falling out of it and i cant find where they go. So I'm coming to the conclusion that the motor is toasted. I don't think it helps that is been siting for close to 12 years in a barn. And when it was park the guy i got it from said it was acting weird.. So I was wondering if anyone had a spear motor they would like to sell for a descent price and lives in Michigan. Or can I just put any kind / style of motor in it??? thanks for your help

Not been on for a while and missed loads of posts... Been in and out of hospitals etc many times thanks to the National waste my effin time with no regard to your Health Service... But... SR engine completely stripped down to nothing, crankcase rebonded, all gaskets replaced, everything cleaned to a shine and oiled, and she runs!!! Annoyingly, doesnt like idling again, which is the problem I had and rectified before... Then took it to pieces again :-S I have noticed though if I apply the tiniest mouse fingered throttle, it idles like a dream... Throttle cable has a wee bit of play too, so should I just tighten it a little?

Hi All, Perhaps you can help me out, just got the head back on and trying to attach the exhaust but all the old studs are knackered, but having real trouble getting some new ones as the bike is over 30 years old and no one seems to have any in stock , I was wondering if studs off of some thing else might fit , they are M6 studs so fairly standard size but the length has to be the same or slightly longer. Do any of you have an idea where the best place might be to get hold of some, I need 8 of couse plus the nuts. Thanks or any advice.

Well the odd handling at squires wasn't just the wheel loose. When i got home i had a quick look and could see nothing drastic and after softening the susp back up it seemed fine. Well today on the way home about halfway back the back end gets all squiffy like i have a puncture. I stop, no puncture. Gently ride home at about 25mph and once on the paddock stand, dadah Rear wwheel bearings have gone, wheel moves a good 4-5mm when you grip top to bottom and give it a pull. Bugger. Ah well Dt was coming out anyway.......

Hey all! So I've finally done it - gone out for a weekend ride in the glorious weather! Since picking my bike up a couple of weeks ago, I've simply strolled down to the shops or gone out for a local jaunt for practise seeing as I've never ridden before. Anyway, around family commitments, I had a few free hours today, and how could I resist this weather?! So I've just come back from a 90 mile ride around some glorious roads. For those who know the area, I went over Woodhead Pass and around Holmfirth / Penistone and then back towards my house, out over Snakes Pass, down to Castleton and over Winnats Pass before ending up in Chapel-on-le-Frith and back up into Glossop.…

Hi there, i've got me a kitch little blue YBR 125 and i'm not overly fond of the cornering, i have Michelin pilots on, but it's just not enough. I'm considering swapping out the standard wheels for that on YZF R 125 but i'm not sure what i'd need to attend to; comparability with the front brake callipers,, spindle diameter, forks as well as getting rear brakes from a YZF to fit the rear wheel. Has have they done it before or could anyone shed any light on this? Thank you -Kash

Hi i have a 2001 Yamaha fazer 600 which i have only just bought, the problem i am getting is that when i am driving and open the throttle quickly... i get a jerking through the bike as if something is making it hold back. i have replaced the coil packs anlong with the spark plugs so i know it cant be a misfire, it is as if it is coming from the front sprocket area. when i put the bike on the centrestand, and put it into 1st.... the chain seems to jump about and make a horrible noise like a banging. there is also a clicking noise when i spin the rear wheel. i am really stuck for ideas. Well back to the DT this morning, wow. Back to drum brakes and wobbly knobblys and 60mph flat oot. Took a few mile to dial back in with the wobbles and the (lack of) braking. And of course, the headlight. Best bit, i know the old girl can handle ANYTHING. I have ridden that bike through hell and back. She has been underwater, in snow 3 feet deep, dropped on sheet ice, salt sand and sh1t and had me as an owner for the last 25 years. She has never had it easy, she was used for proddy enduro before my 'care'.

Hello all, I want to give my ybr yamaha a little bit more topspeed, is that possible with a K&N or other filter? The ybr does 55mph i want it to go 60mph. I just gave it a new maintenance with fresh Castrol juice and iridium sparkplug. I did also the valvejob and placed a new airfilter (original one from Yamaha) the reason why i want a little more topspeed is because it is now very dangerous with the trucks. Thanks in advance
