  1. I have a DT1F-36948 with matching engine and frame. Has 21" front wheel. This number does not come up in my research. Does anyone know if this is a 1971 or 72? Is it high compresion? MX? Also the piston is marked 7050, I assume that's .50 mm over standard 70mm bore. My question is how many over is this? Is this a 1st over, 2nd .....what incriments are the overbores? And finally any idea where I can get a piston ring for this. (it is a single ring piston). Thanks for taking time to reply....This is my first post. greg

I keep my bike outside under a cover. Even though it is getting covered it is still getting wet with damp and condensation. I plan on getting one of those metal sheds, providing my landlord allows it! But in in the mean time is there a spray or something I can apply to my bike to stop it from rusting?

Hello. I've been using the Garage Forum, but not had much luck. Quick question; I am sure that there used to be links to parts manuals on this forum, but I think that the links have been removed. I'm building a DT125LC enduro hybrid, using a 12W frame (Mk 1). I've picked up an engine, which has come from an RD 12A. Does anyone have a parts manual for a 12W?, or know where I can get one? I've a rolling chassis, but need to kit it out with a 2 stroke oil tank, and various other bits and wanted to avoid buying the wrong bits. I've a parts manual for the 35A but this seems to be a different beast.. (albeit cosmetically it looks pretty similar.) Any help would be …

Hey guys - and gals, for the politically correct out there Back in the saddle after too many years of being subjected to driving those darned 4-wheel vehicles - give me two wheels any day. First rebuild project is a 1983 Yamaha XT125 (sad I know, but you've gotta start somewhere) - it's sound and in good 'nick. However, the exhaust downpipe/silencer/muffler is looking tired and will probably fall apart as soon as I touch it. Does anyone out there know if any of the later/still available model 125 systems will fit? Originals from 1983 are as rare as hens teeth or rocking horse manure (being polite there). Or maybe you have one kicking around in the shed/gar…

Hi all, I want to change a few things on my bike as they have either worn or been damaged. However I am having a bit of difficulty finding the parts on the internet. So if you have any ideas on where to get them from, it would be greatly appreciated. Both tyres on my bike are the stock ones it came with. I am able to change the back wheel but am less confident doing so on the front due to the disc brake. So I will go to a garage for the front wheel. So I just need a single back tyre, but do not know of the best places to get this from? My foot pegs are on a single bar bolted to the underside of my bike, and I am struggling to find the single bars for sale. I am onl…

  15. Hey folks, I love my bike, but I hate it's highway range! I was looking around and found that you can get a 13L tank for my bike but the only place I could find the part was in the UK and it was out of stock (http://www.customcruisers.com/Custom2005/customshop2005/contents/en-uk/d635.html). Anyone have any luck putting a bigger tank on this bike, because the 8L makes trips out to the Alberta Rockies a little challenging without strapping some extra gas to the bike. Cheers!

Im using the stock exaust of yamaha on my chappy...at the end of this exaust there is a small silencer whitch can be removed.....by removing this im getting my motorbike louder.... My question is by removing this small part of the exaust im i causing damage to the engine in the long run??? REMEMBER IM NOT REMOVING THE EXAUST IM JUST REMOVING THE SILENCER AT THE END OF THE EXAUST! My bike is a 50cc bike thank you very much hope you can help :jossun:

Hi All, small problem that you can perhaps help me out with, I have (as some of you know) an XJ750 and a Midnight Maxim, the Maxim is in the middle of having it's head repaired but my problem is getting hold of the right head gasket. Both engines look identical externally and the XJ gasket (ebay) looks identincal to the one off of the Maxim but the guy who is selling it does not know if it will fit. Can any of you tell me either do they have the same gasket or a part number for the correct one. Any advice you can offer would be gratefully recieved. Thanks all.

Hi. My bike is a 96 model with 21k on the clock, as i gradually increase the revs at a standstill it seems rough untill about 5000 then rapidly leaps up to max like its just hit its power band. When riding it also feels rough in that rev range but when twisting the throttle it pulls like a train and feels great. I have replaced all spark plugs, an ignition coil(suspected problem), stripped the carbs cleaning all jets and adjusting pilot screws and visually checking all the butterflys are in the same position(no vacumn guages) and float bowls also in the same position (sounded so confusing checking them didnt bother) Bike does have a scorpion can on so im wondering …
