Just some advice if you would be so kind, I want to change my grips and there are so many out there that it's a joke trying to make up my mind. I really like the soft spongy ones but not to sure about how well they will last but the ones on the bike at the moment, which are just bog standard rubber ones, make my hands tingle after a longish run, have any of you got a suggestion as to what might suit and what do you use? Also would like to put some bar end weights on so any thoughts you have would be welcome, NOT YOU FOAMY anyone who wears a mankini is pretty suspect in my book.

Back at work today after 4 days off trying to finish off my garage conversion (hence the reason for the big shed earlier this year). Anyway still waiting for the roof tiles to be fitted and with very heavy rain forecast I stapled a load of tarpaulin over the sarking last night. Obviously not enough cos I got a call from the good lady saying water was coming in and soaking parts of the newly fitted plasterboard, Pop into screwfix and get some more tarps says I. Half an hour later I get a call from the wife stating she had fell off a ladder and her hand landed on an upturned sawblade. I'm just back from hospital where she has been taken into theatre with suspected tendon …

Well here comes a true newbie question. What's the best way to clean a filthy bike? I recently bought an xvs125 and the owner obviously didn't take the best care of if cosmetically. I've cleaned it up the best I can but the underneath of the bike and the wheels are completely coated in black grease and road dirt, obviously a sponge and water isn't going to do the job. Would a pressure washer be a good idea? And also what are the areas to avoid when washing a bike? Cheers!

Remember the Transatlantic races Gary Nixon etc..Well Mallory Park Race circuit is under imminent threat of closure due to proposed noise restrictions from their local council. Motorsport and Motorcycle enthusiasts need to unite to prevent this from happening all over the country. Please take a moment to consider the heritage of British Motorsport in both two and four wheel formats, where it's been and where it's going, if we don't we could easily lose more. An e-petition has been set up which requires 100,000 signatures to trigger a government debate and preserve what is still a fantastic circuit for racers and spectators alike. Make your voice heard by signing petition …

Nicked from south west bikers , I know Pilningas and a few otehrs are from bristol area so thought theymay like to know Looks like the local police might have a new weapon on their fleet. Just turned onto the A358 after coming back across from Wheddon Cross and a mile or so up the road towards Taunton we seen some blue flashy lights. As we neared it was two bikes, and the one with blue flashy lights was a plain grey BMW GS 1200 kitted out with aluminium panniers etc etc. A plain grey GS isn't going to arouse too much suspicion if it creeps up behind you and I'm the blue lights were in the same position as DRL's. Play safe out there boys and gals ETA. Looks l…

Out on the bike today, got a good run up through the Cotswolds and out in the sticks and going to my favourite bit of road, 3 bends that seem to go on forever and you can really lean the bike into them and it feels fun when you get it right, worth the journey just for this bit of road and at the end in the layby there's a van that sells cups of tea, so bung it into the first corner and feeling great when I glimpse something in the road no time to swerve or move just grip the bars tight and hope for the best, anyway turns out to be a bloody hub cap off of someone's car which I run right over and makes the bike do a sudden shift to the left and I find that you can put your …

I have just got a snottagram from Lambeth council that I rode my bike in a bus lane. On the Westminster Bridge road (camera 138 it any have matching ones), wrote back to say that bikes are allowed, they say not this one! The signage is pretty poor, the same sign as all the now legal ones in the rest of London. Not local so would not have known which were except from the scheme. The reply looks like a standard letter so may not have even read my intial appeal. Any suggestions or wisdom to share? Many thanks Billy
