Not a Yamaha, but does anyone have any personal recommendations of wiring providers. I will soon be making a new harness for my Can Am Bombardier and will be buying all necessary stuff shortly. I have done a t'internet search and a multitude of providers show up. Before I just jump in and buy, I'm looking any recommendations. My plan is to strip down the auld harness and pin it to a board as reference to lengths required for the new one, but any tips and hints (crimping or soldering) would also be greatly received. Drewps*, apologies if this needs to go in the workshop thread, if so can you do the necessary Edit....Meant to write DDT

OK, time to make fun of Tasky... Do any of you good folks happen to know a UK shop that stocks the Custom Dynamics accent light known as Knight Riderz? Looks like this: I basically need this, or something similar to it, that runs off a 12V power supply.

Finished work for this week yesterday and today all I had to do was 2 quotes, luckily I already knew both the customers and figured it would be OK to turn up on the bike. All I needed was some good weather and it was as good as it gets for this time of year the bike feels better than ever, not only a great ride (about 60mls) but two new jobs as well.

Ok peeps I have just looked inside the FJs tank and it's a bit of a horror story lot's of surface rust and general crud and bit's of stuff floating around inside, I seem to remember many years ago you could pour sand (play type) and water into the tank and sort of slosh it around and that would get most of the crud out but was wondering if over the years if someone had come up with a better way than doing a maracas dance in the garage ?? Is there or have you heard of anything that gets the tank clean without giving the impression of doing a bad Dad dance in the dark of your garage, sorry just had a horrible picture of self shaking like I have epilepsy!! Someone MUST have …

I was browsing ebay is search of that allusive bargain that DDT always seems to find and I noticed a lot of american imported classics and nearly everyone has a masive hole in the seat so I was wondering (as yer do when your bored) is it something the American's are eating or is it something to do with exporting as spare's so they tear the seats ?

Ok people I would like your input please, I have the FJ and the XJ both of which are to say the least a bit heavy, the XJ weighs in at 220 kilos or 500 lbs and I am not as young as I used to be so find it difficult heaving these monsters about, I would like to get one of these mover things that you slide under the centre stand but can't decide if it should be the long side stand one or the smaller centre stand design. Have any of you got one of these and which is best, not really concerned about the cost, within reason, but more the ease of movement but I'm not to sure about using the side stand method as it puts a lot of strain on the mounts and I have never been a huge…

Routes to Your motorcycle / scooter Licence 19th January 2013 will see the introduction of the 3rd Driving Licence Directive (or 3DLD). The 3DLD will see several changes to the way the motorcycle licence system works, most notably the changes to age restrictions in each licence category, but more importantly the fact that licences WILL NOT automatically upgrade after a period of 2 years, as they have done in the past. For more details, see the table as below: If you have a full car licence issued before 1st February 2001 you may ride a restricted 50cc moped on the road without L plates (and carry a passenger), but you still need to pass your CBT test to ride any motor…

Hey guys! I'm looking at picking up a pair of riding boots, I've heard good things about the Cortech Latigo boots - I can pick up a pair for $180 shipped...seems to be a decent deal. They offer a nice amount of protection for everyday riding, and enough if I want to take the bike to the track too. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about them? Or any other recommendation for some good riding boots under $200? I ride a sport bike so take that into consideration when making your recommendations please! Cortech Latigo Waterproof Boots

Hi guys! I just picked up this pair of GP Pros for under £50 from a dealership in Ipswich. My only worry is that I'm not finding any others like it online, which is planting doubt in my mind making me think they might not be genuine. I know that there are ALOT of fakes of this sort of gloves around and I'd just like to put my mind at ease. Has anyone seen a pair of GP Pros like this before - without the plastic gauntlet?
