Ok so not megastar or anything, but it was Tony Dron! Spent a substantial amount of money and shared some very good stories from his racing days!

Ok I love my Yammie and I would be loath to part with it, but when I was a kid 14/15 I saw a bike in my local bike shop window and really fell in love with it. Life got in the way and what with one thing and another I forgot about it and just plugged on with what I was doing, then last week I bought myself a new bike jacket from my local bike shop a Bering Oddysee, nice jacket and while I was there lo and behold there sat in the window was the bike I had seen nearly 50 years ago, you could have knocked me down with a feather and I could not believe that it looked so new! Then the salesman jumps in and says it is new for 2013, built in India and has all the mod cons we sof…

So I was just browsing ebay last night and came across this helmet light mod for $60.... it had 2 LEDs, a switch, and a battery....all of which, I already have, so I got to wiring and modifying and this is what I came up with! Cost me a total of $5, and most of that cost was the battery. Hello YOC! It's been so so long since posting on here I'm so sorry I neglected everybody; hope you haven't missed me too much! Really really in a pickle here. The garage where I work here are rebuilding an RD350 out of boxes. It's a lovely lovely bike and we feel it could benefit from a brand new wiring loom (not second hand - a new one!). Does anyone know anybody who makes these/supplies them for a decent price? Let me know if you do!!! Chris

For those youngsters amongst us without a full license, please see the linky which relates to a possible change in raising the age people can drive LINKY It is only going to get harder and more expensive to get a full license. I am sure a few of us on here didn't have to take a test and many of us - including me - just rode around the block to get a full license. Make getting a full license number one on your 2013 Christmas list now.

As we all seem to like a bit of banter on here, thought I'd start this thread were we can have a humerus pop at each other, not over the top stuff if you know what I mean Kev. I can think of a couple of people off the top of my head who I'd like to say get your finger out to, come on get it off yer chest and spit it out.

I had my moment today I had an accident on the ybr, I'm fine and bike seemed to be ok however I am now noticing after the accident at slow speeds I seem to hear a slight ticking or click, strange thing is if I just spin the wheel I dont here the clicking however the break seems to be rubbing more than before. The bike still runs fine just would like some suggestion on what to look at to possibly stop this problem. Jack

Dont know if this should be here or in the workshop, if its in the wrong place I'm sure Drewps will move it, anyway..... I've just bought a compressor and a spray gun from LIDLs and my first job with it will be to spray my Bombardier tank. Who's willing to give me a step by step blow on preparing and spraying this tank.......

Just some advice if you would be so kind, I want to change my grips and there are so many out there that it's a joke trying to make up my mind. I really like the soft spongy ones but not to sure about how well they will last but the ones on the bike at the moment, which are just bog standard rubber ones, make my hands tingle after a longish run, have any of you got a suggestion as to what might suit and what do you use? Also would like to put some bar end weights on so any thoughts you have would be welcome, NOT YOU FOAMY anyone who wears a mankini is pretty suspect in my book.

Back at work today after 4 days off trying to finish off my garage conversion (hence the reason for the big shed earlier this year). Anyway still waiting for the roof tiles to be fitted and with very heavy rain forecast I stapled a load of tarpaulin over the sarking last night. Obviously not enough cos I got a call from the good lady saying water was coming in and soaking parts of the newly fitted plasterboard, Pop into screwfix and get some more tarps says I. Half an hour later I get a call from the wife stating she had fell off a ladder and her hand landed on an upturned sawblade. I'm just back from hospital where she has been taken into theatre with suspected tendon …

Well here comes a true newbie question. What's the best way to clean a filthy bike? I recently bought an xvs125 and the owner obviously didn't take the best care of if cosmetically. I've cleaned it up the best I can but the underneath of the bike and the wheels are completely coated in black grease and road dirt, obviously a sponge and water isn't going to do the job. Would a pressure washer be a good idea? And also what are the areas to avoid when washing a bike? Cheers!
