  2. REMEMBER: When you fill up from having used Reserve, turn the tap back to On before riding away!! REMEMBER: When you fill up from having used Reserve, turn the tap back to On before riding away!! REMEMBER: When you fill up from having used Reserve, turn the tap back to On before riding away!! When you're approaching about 100 miles, try and keep your riding close to a fuel station. You should usually expect to get 15-20 more miles on Reserve. and in case you missed it: REMEMBER: When you fill up from having used Reserve, turn the tap back to On before riding away!!

  3. Thanks, I was able to order one from a Yamaha dealer. Apparently the part from Yamaha is discontinued. There were a few in the pipeline though. I would have mail ordered it but it would take longer to get here. Not cheap but better than a long hot walk out of the desert. I got this one used also but years ago maybe 94 or so. Great bike very few if any problems, except this one and a couple of carb cleans and a carb boot replacement. My wife wants me to get a new one but not sure I want to part with her. The bike that is.

  4. Riding home through Reading and down the A33 last night. Bike pulls up next to me, rider in head-to-toe Cruiserboy gear, just like in the brochure. Bike chugging away with custom pipes on. I smile and recall when I rode one of those Yamaha XVS650 Dragstar Custom... Red & Silver with Orange accents, 1999 paint scheme, which I recognise as I had one myself... Except for one confusing detail. Every inch of this thing is a Dragstar... Except the tank has HARLEY DAVIDSON in stylised writing painted on the side... WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?????!!!!!

  15. I think the garage is open to paid members only. Please have a look at my signature. There is a link in there somewhere for more information. You also get access to more sections that are not visable to non paying members. You don't need to be a paid member to post pictures in threads. You will need somewhere to upload pictures to. There are many help threads around to help on this score but I can't remember the name of any of the main ones used - it is an age thing and I use my own server so do it slightly differently.

  16. I was in a shop on Sunday and noticed that they had a sign in the window for a weekend staff member vacancy. When we were in there a member of staff was talking to other staff about a call he had just had about the job. The bloke asked the person interested what days they could work. The person answered "I can't work Saturdays". Seeing it was a weekend job it doesn't leave much to play with. This is true and happened last Sunday!

  20. Started pretty easy..though finding the tank cap seems to cause an airlock. Thought I had a coolant leak until I noticed the barrel drain bolt for coolant not tightened properly. My main hassle is after checking oil, the dipstick has become cross threaded..so can`t get the bugger to screw in properly again. Here`s a utube URL of it running.

  21. That is a beautiful machine Sacha really must be pleased with your new baby, just gotta pay for it now!!! DT I had no idea what it was either just looked damned good tho. If you have to buy another one buy a Triumph now they are just as reliable as the Honda's and such. Plus Jimmy and Bippo will be pleased to have another big "T" on the site. PS to be fair to DT I had to go back and look a 2nd time and STAR is the same colour as the surround and BOLT is in fact LT at the end.

  22. Yeah that hose is wrong and unless you sort it it's going to let go at some point, is it just to short or the wrong shape? try a hot air gun on the bugger if it's just a tight fit. Looking pretty nifty tho, was one of your better buys I think. PS if the hose has to have a kink at the end to fit properly then look at a car rad hose, these are usually longer and stronger, and you can cut one down to fit, as I'm a cheap bastard I like to improvise where I can and paying £50 for a genuine hose as opposed to £5 for a car one makes more sense as far as I'm concerned. Others have the right to disagree (INCOMING!)
