    hi all,noisy erratic speedometer on 125 virago xvs changed speedo cable and ran speedo with drill knackered is speedo a sealed unit as ive taken it off but cant get get to the mechanism inside it .have seen simalar 535 speedos on ebay but no 125 speedos will these work do you know.cheers tony

    Howdy All,, i'm new to the forum and also new to bikes. I bought a yamaha xv500 about 6 months ago. Crashed bike so i have been fixing her up. The front wheel has a very slight buckle so when i drive her i can feel a bit of a shimmer. Not very confidence inspiring driving down the road at 50mph. I cant find anyone to fix the buckle can anyone tell where i can get it sorted.. Its a spoked front wheel. Dont think there is any problem with the frame or the frocks before anyone askes.     After noon people , have a query here regarding lights on the xvs 125 . I noticed during the week that the headlight is getting brighter at random points while driving, the day after I noticed that the clock bulb is doing the same thing at the same time as the headlight.then lastnight I noticed that the neutral light is coming on dimly while all the others are bright ? Any suggestions to why ? Cheers folks .

    I am looking for a few parts for my xv535 but have noticed xvs650 one's are much cheaper,floorboards for one,will the 650 one's fit my xv535? I can't really see why they wouldn't but have any of you good folks interchanged bits between the 2 bikes?

    hi, ive recently been given some highway hawk pipes (long story but quite lucky) and the front pipe diameter is 45mm and the rear is 35mm. i believe there off a dragstar 650 but im really unsure :/ any help would be greatly appreciated....OH! no selling in this section they dont fit my 125 haha

    Hello out there, For the past week, I have been trying to trace a problem with my XVS650. After replacing the front forks for a set off a XVS1100 (after a little machining) so I could have twin brakes up front, I got the bike out for a test ride and it started bellowing smoke out the rear cylinder. Basicly, I have done every I can think of without resorting to pulling the engine down for inspection (pity as it's only got 4500 miles on the odometer) Anyway, I have priced up a full engine gasket set for the bike and they want nearly £200 ($320+) for the set which is BLOODY expensive.     Hi all (again). I've had my 650 Drag Star for about a fortnight now, although its yet to make it out of the garage due to the rubbish weather. However, whilst showing family and friends my new purchase, I sometimes start the bike and have noticed when I turn the ignition on, i get maybe 20 or 30 seconds of a high pitched whining noise (definitely an eletrical rather than mechanical). It stops after 20 seconds or so but it's never done it before and if there's an issue I'd rather get it dealt with whilst under warranty. As I've not taken the bike out yet and dont have the battery on a trickle charger, i thought it might be an indication that the battery is running low, alt…

    Morning all. I would like to adjust the biting point on the clutch, but am not sure where to do that. Is it done at the point where the cable moves through 90 degrees on top of the engine casing? Ive undone the lock nut but it doesnt seem to release anything else to move ie the long nut doesnt rotate to give any adjustment . Or is the biting point adjusted at the lever end on the bars? Guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ray

    Hyya guys... I earlier discussed here about a gasket issue..I looked more closely into the engine heads and saw oil leaks from the top of each head..these are tappets right..? I guess they deal with the opening and closing of vents when engine running so am afraid of timing alterations that would kill the engine..both oil leaks appear to originate from exhaust ends..oil leak is more prominent at the left of the rear head..what should I do guys...is it possible for me to remove the head covers and see whts going on...the left right cover of the rear head was loose when I was buying the bike..and from that head leak seems to be high..do those nuts of the cover tightens…

Hi Guys, I've got steering head problem of my xv125 and I have bought new bearings, but these purchased bearings have similar diameter at the middle hole which is not the case with the originally fitted in the bike..in other words, the lower bearing in the bike required to have a higher diameter than the upper one..so few weeks back, I put a new macthing bearing for the upper one and let the old lower bearing to remain..but still I get dock dock feeling in steering head when I ride..so wanna get diameter of the left new bearing adjusted with some lathe machine guy..there is enough space on the new one to cut...so I want to know the exact diameter of the lower bearing…

    Hello folks,i have a 1991 xv535 and whilst the front brake is ok i would like to fit a better caliper.Does anyone know of an uprated caliper maybe twin pot that will fit? Cheers all.

    I know the 535 tank question gets asked everywhere a lot,i know you could get a bigger tank conversion for the 535's but it only fitted i think pre 1989 with the dummy upper tank.My question is can the bigger tank be adapted to fit a 1991 model with the upper and lower tanks?

    Hi all Only had my 650 custom a few weeks now but noticed the carb area seems a bit exposed underneath (just a flap of some heat resistant type material) Was wondering if mine had been removed or are they all like this? as couldnt find any ref to any covers in the work shop manual Cheers Pete

    Anyone know if theres such a thing as a larger / higher capacity fuel tank for the XVS 650 Dragstar? A mate of mind has a Bullet, and hes recently fitted a higher capacity tank to his bike. One irritation on my road trip around Italy last year was having to stop for fuel every 120 or so miles! H

    hi, i am new to the yamaha owners club as i have bought a 91 virago 535, my problem is when the bike has been run for a long while it revs really high, its fine when cold or run for short while. the carbs have balanced and cleaned, does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem? any help would be greatly appreiated, thanks, karen

    hi all been on the xvs today n dont like the k+n filter havnt jetted it or owt but am going to put original filter on.
