Hello everyone, another question from sunny belgium... I was thinking of getting my drag star painted (matt black). Now i saw a few examples of cars being wrapped, and as i understood it also possible for bikes (i thought fuel tank would be a problem because of the tight curves) Now my question...the label on the side of the fuel tank..how do i get it off? Is it glued somehow, or attached with screw or other means? So will there be a hole when i take it off? thanks Peter

Because my bike is 10 years old, the paint is starting to show it a little (scuffs, chips, what looks like running in the paintwork. I was contemplating a respray job in matte black. I have no experience of the sort of costs involved, and am after a ballpark figure for a dragstar in staffs and cheshire (a proper job). Thanks if anyone can help me.

Hi there, So I come to use my 94 virago 400 a month or so back with the weather being nicer. After some failed starts the battery dies on me. No problem, I recharge the battery, pop it back in and the bike roars to life. I balance the bike up getting it off its kickstand and it dies on me. I fiddle with the battery again, it fires up, I drive off a few seconds later it dies again and has never recovered. What I know is (which to start with is not alot I am a computer person not a mechanical person ) The battery is charged and connected fine. The 20a fuse blows instantly when replaced. No wires look visibly wrong. I am assuming my problem is eit…

Hi, When I fill my 650, I fill to the level of the plate forming the lower end of the filler funnel. inside the tank, about 2" below the cap. Is this getting the full 15 litres in? I find the pump nozzle has to be entered into the hole otherwise the fuel splashes back. I know there has to be room for fuel expansion but It always seem to leave a lot of tank space above this point.

I had to replace the rear tire today...it was a bit tough to find 15- 130/ 90 tire here since all the tire stores were flooded with 17 size Indian tires. I bought a Korean tire which cost me almost 80 USD and had no option to chose from. It was a tubeless tire and the shop guy asked if It was ok to make rear tire tubeless, I had this feeling it would be something superior so I said yes..now the rear is tubeless. I read some advantages on the internet. What do you guys think, tubeless over standard? Have I been dumb?

I am quite new to the Dragstar Classic 650, and am looking to add a transparrent alternator cover-only ever seen one of these on a streetfighter, but want to know if they exist for custom bikes. Anyone else know where I can get one? Or if they are just a custom made part?

I am looking for some highway pegs on ebay. I found some I like, but I don't want to buy them without knowing if they will fit or not. I am not at work and can't measure the downtube on the frame. Does anyone know what size the downtubes are on the front of the '05 1100cc Custom? I am thinking they are 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" but not sure.

Hi I have the Sachs 125 Roadster, from diagrams the exhaust system looks identical to the xv 125 and possibly even the 250 XV. I have seen this in ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Virago-XV250-XV-250-Black-Colour-Pipe-Exhaust-2-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e4e87546QQitemZ360322725190QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Does anyone know if the xv 250 is the same as the 125? Paul White - Do you happen to know where I can get a replacement exhaust for my roadster? Have checked some usual avenues with no luck..

Hi There I have the xv 125 engine in my Sachs Roadster.. The bike's electrics are shorting out somewhere (battery goes flat quickly without use, tingling feeling from metal on bike when other hand on ground) In my troubleshooting I want to know what the 3 wires are coming our at different points of the mikuni carb? Does anyone know? Would be great to find out.. One of them is not attached to it's socket (makes no difference to shorting issue or performance). All in all the performance is shoddy and can't help but think the shorting issue is sucking some power out of the sparks and could have something to do with it.. (along with hole in exhaust which I'm sorting …

Hi guys, Like I told you earlier I should change my gaskets..probably tappet O-rings etc. I have found some gasket sets here on ebay. I have some questions. in these gasket products, there are sets compatible with both 250 and 125 cc models. I think 250 engines are bigger..so buying a 250 gasket for 125 engine wouldnt cause issues? Can someone help me with this please? I badly should replace gaskets as oil leakage seems to be getting worse... Am sure at least one of you've had replaced gaskets..of your xv125.

Hi all, hope you are well. I am an all-weather rider, and have been used to riding with headlight on no matter what, but a couple of months ago bike rugularly struggled to start while headlights switch was on...after switching all electrics off and trying again it would find it easier to start but still not how it used to be. i had a new battery put on may 2010. a week ago, i noticed that when i was stationary at a junction ticking over with indicator on, it would play havvock not flashing in time and going mega fast. Strange?! THEN 2 days ago 16 miles from home with a full tank while riding she was slowing down, revs the lot. after pulling over i managed …

I'm looking for a full tank cover for my Dragstar Classic. I've seen loads of 'covers' that cover the speedo area, front to back, but I really want one that covers the entire tank? Anyone got one, and if so, where from and how much? Has to be genuine leather too. Cheers
