Hi all, I have just switched over from a 2009 Kawasaki VN900 Custom to the 950 Midnight Star. I am looking for options to protect the paintwork on the tank, I don't think that the traditional "Tank Protectors" are going to cut it and I'm not sure if they are in keeping with the Cruiser looks. Does anyone have any ideas on possible products? Thanks, Andrew.

Been lurking on here for a while and thought it was about time to sign up. I've been searching for a big bore kit for an XVS 650 A, I don't know if one exists or if anyone could share some insight or direction. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Ok......Just looked at the wear bars on the rear tyre of my XVS650 and I think it's about time I changed from slicks to intermediates. At present I have a Bridgestone 170/80/15 G702 R on the back which I'm quite happy with. What does everyone else run/recommend? I seem to have a choice between........ Bridgestone 170/80S15 BS G702 R = £ 112.04 Bridgestone 170/80S15 BS G546 R = £ 112.04 Avon 170/80HB15 AV VENOM R TL = £ 98.41 Continental 170/80H15 CO CM2 R TL = £ 116.48 Dunlop 170/80S15 DU D404 R TT = £ 123.12 possibly some others but my head's starting to swim now. Whad'ya reckon?????????

Hiya folks I'm after a tank from a dragstar 650 or 1100,i have found one but the seller doesn't know what size bike it's from says could be from any 125 - 1100. Are there any ways to tell just by looking at it? I have searched the web and the only dragstar's i can see the same colours as the tank are 650's but i don't want to get it then find out it's for a 250.There is a number on the tank apparently which is 97030111.Help please guys Thanks Al Mods,i have posted this in the workshop section too,if you wish to delete one or the other please feel free,i just wasn't really sure which section to post it in.

hey all, iv got a problem with my dragstar. im getting no spark to both plugs, the engine cranks and fuel goes into the cylinders but im getting no spark. it came about when i was riding home, the chain fell off and the bike cut out (does this on the regular when i pull up on the drive and let the gas right off, revs dip and bike cuts out, so i assumed nothing, it was normal for me) i pushed it up the drive and could not get it going, check both plugs, no spark. tried new plugs, still no spark. i dont believe both ignition coils could die at the same time. thanks for your help.

I'm looking at a set of Vance and Hines short shots, and they are reccommended for 04-onwards 650 Dragstars. Mine is a 01 Dragstar. What's the difference, and are they workable onto a 01? Got my heart set on these babies.

I want to put forward controls on my bike but I don't want to pay that much for them. I think I found a good alternative with these and wanted to see if anyone used something like them and if they work well. What do you guys/gals think?

Hi Guys, Im slowly but surely customizing my Yamaha Dragstar XVS125, Im missing the rear exhaust heat shield. (Previous owner said it fell off, this seems to be a common issue) The exhuast on there at the moment sounds great, but i want something a little meatier. Just wondering if there are baffles i can remove, or if there are other exhaust systems that are available to me. Im aware of the Highway Hawks Slash Cut's. They were MEANT to arrive today in-fact, But i got an email informing that they were out of stock. Dissapointed, but it gives me a few extra days to reconsider my options. Cheers in advanced.

After discussion with another XVS 650 Dragstar owner, I ordered these pipes 6 days ago through Ebay. The advert stated an estimated delivery time of 11 - 23 days, but to my suprise they arrived today. An hour later they were fitted. Not as straight forward as I'd expected but as you can see, they're on. Stealth mode off! The originals came off easily enough, the old gaskets were prised out of they're recesses and new ones fitted. The new pipes were offered up and I found that A. the front pipe was a pretty good fit, but the R/H foot rest and brake lever assembly had to be removed to allow access. The reg/rectifier had to be moved a 1/4 inch forward of its o…

This afternoon I are mostly been making new brackets to fix the angle of the exhaust from this.... To this.... Looks better don't it? Since fitting the new pipes (without re-jetting the carbs)I have noticed that I get about 15 more miles per tank of fuel, with no real loss of power, and only a slight discolouration of the chrome.
