Well guys....i have a new problem with my rebuild...i need to change the headlight bulb and cant figure out how to get it out. I had to take the glass lens out to get to the bulb and when I tried to pull it out...just the glass came out....the bulb body stayed in there. I doesnt seem to unscrew or anything. I mangled the bulb body trying to get it out and it wont come out. Do I have to replace the whole assembly where the bulb goes in or is it just the bulb that I can replace. If anyone has had to replace the bulb on their rt1 please let me know how to do it....Thanks!!!!!

I have a 1975 xs500b. it is running and driving, The original paint on the headlight, tank (one dent) and the side covers is all good (original orange with white and gold striping), It needs a little tlc, a few parts, seat cover and tires. It has 17,000 original km. I was wondering what this bikes value is restored to original condition? I cannot find a lot of information on the internet of its worth. Debating turning it into a cafe racer please share your knowledge thanks!

hi,i have a 1989 exup 1000 sat in my garage that i have owned for 3yrs-ish,have probably only ridden it a dozen times or so,its in standard condition, pearl white & red,std single seat cover etc, very nice condition, think its done about 16k miles,i bought it off a pensioner who had given up biking,it had only done 15mls since he last motd it & that had expired over a year.i motd it when i first got it but its basically sat in my garage since, its probably only done 50-100mls since i have owned it.i am toying with the idea of selling it but am unsure of what a realistic price would be.im sure that there cant be that many around in as good condition & it runs like …

Okay guys, I have a 71 RT1 360 that I just got running after a 7 year slumber and a new top end but i cannot get the clutch to work properly. When I pull the lever the cable pulls up which turns the push rod actuator in and out. Now when I put it in gear and I pull the clutch lever, the clutch doesnt disengage so the bike can roll freely. I am not 100% sure on how to check this to make sure its working properly. If I take the clutch cover off and pull the clutch lever what should I see happening? What do I need to look for? Since the push rod is not moving am I damaging the push rod actuator when I pull the clutch lever? HELP!!!!!

So, I show my pretty little "Maxine" to my buds and they promptly say "you should get rid of your seat cover", "You need to paint it blue or red". "You should get one of those windshields and saddle bags", "It'll really look good if you had those handle bars that stretch your arms and lowered the seat like a harley". Like a thousand suggestions/critiques about what I should change. Then finally one of my best buds pipes in and asks "So, what are you gonna change about it" to which I say "um, it needs a tail light so I'll add that . . .yea that's about it". They bust out laughing . . . am I the only one who's fallen in love with their bike "as is"? I like a bike that l…

Hi everyone! I encountered hard starting with my DT even when the engine is warm. Everytime i check the plug, it's wet. Replacing with dry plug will easily start. I observed a weak spark so i replaced the source coil (reading is 150 ohms). The new source coil has a reading of 420 ohms. Now, i can easily start her but the problem is, she give me a little bit rough ride especially on 3000rpm and rough deceleration from 4K rpm and up to 3K rpm. Idle is ok but unstable. At first start, she gave me 2K rpm idle but after a test run, it will drop to 1k rpm so i need to adjust again. I cleaned the carb, even replace the pilot jet and main jet but it's still the same. It's like a …

Hi All. It's been quite a while since I've posted here, but last year I had a running good day/bad day chronicle of when I took my old CT3 out of mothballs and got it on the road again. (See "CT3 175 Runs but then Doesn't" from last summer.) I'm no expert, but consider myself more of a slightly experienced amateur. My background is in engineering, though (which my brother the mechanic never ceases to give me grief about - something about a tendency to over-analyze things). My hope is that by documenting my errors and discoveries, that I may help others. I have lurked here once in a while, but unfortunately haven't had time to do much work related to motorcycle…

My father in law passed and left me this motorcycle in his will. Its got ~10k miles on it, and needs some work. It runs alright, though I did have to replace the battery as one side of it had caved in a bit and it wasn't holding a charge, i was able to jump start it, but the lights would go out it would then sputter and stop as soon as i removed the cables. Anyways, new battery fixed that problem, but here are my first couple of issues and I did a bit of searching, but am having trouble finding the direct answer. 1. I need a new gas cap gasket, mine is all cracked and very dry, and the bike is stinking up my garage and hallway as it sits in 100+ heat every day, a…
