    Hi all, I am looking at a parts bike1974 TX500. Said it was running but not now any idea for a price. I was thinging 200.00?

Ok so i finally pulled my old 1970 DT1 out of storage yesterday after 8 Years in the dark, i bought it blind back then, never started it just put it away for when i had the time and money to do it up, well i still have neither but its about time the old girl went back on the road so here goes! Firstly im not sure its all original, for a start it has reed valves and a dykes top piston ring, am i correct in thinking this could be post 73' top end? Also the air box has been scrapped making me think maybe post 73 carb too? The most pressing issues for me at the moment are, it needs a piston kit and con rod kit and i dont know what to buy and from where, if it is the …

    Hi dos anyone no where i can get replica info stickers that go beside the chassis tags its made of alloy but i need to get new stickers as im going to respray the frame cheers

    the xt500 i just bought seems to have a prob with the kickstart return, what controls the return position? the spring seems to be ok as it does return it only seems too far and melts on the exhaust. anyone had this before?

    Hi, I am rebuilding a dt 175 mx..it cost £370 and was pretty sound under all the oily mud My problem is the CDI unit (thats a square box with 7 wires coming from it, and has a rubber case) was where the tool kit should be..so i need to know where it should go as i can't see any obvious brackets. Any advice much apreciated..Thanks Pete

    Hello, I have a friend that purchased a 68 YR2. He is changing the oil and is unsure on the amount of oil needed in the crankcase. Also, I see on a parts diagram that there was a dipstick available for the bike. Does anyone have the dimensions of the dipstick? Or, can anyone photograph the dipstick next to a ruler?     hi all, new to the yamaha xt 500 scene after buying a 78 which i believe to be an "E" model. indicators came in a bag so before i begin a strip down over the winter i need to be sure that all is well with the electrics. so i connected them up but no power to the switch, bypassing the relay gives me power. when doing a search for a new relay i get 2 types, one cylindrical with bullet connections the other squarish with flat connectors, which is correct ?

    Hi everyone! Newbie here, and glad to be riding again soon! From 1978-80 I raced a YZ125 in motocross, then sold it for an IT 175 a few years later, which I had for 7 years....So it's been a long time! At 45 now, I wanted a classic Yamaha enduro to tinker with..... I just looked at a bike tonight that I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy. The guy said it was a 1971 125 Enduro that he bought for his daugter, but she doesn't like it! From what I can tell it's a 1973 DT125?     Cynic brought back memories of my KH125 I had in Devon and brought back to Manchester (after a crash) As I have a new printer, copier scanner thingumabob, I thought I'd share these pikkies with you! In Combe Martin where I lived in Devon. Its the blue one with my mates X7 and his son's MBX50 After he crash I rebuilt it and sray canned the paint on and made up some graphics (this was the late 80's mind) the pin striping was done by hand with a roll of pinstripe, just eyed it up and that's what I ended up with. nice flat paint.

    I recently fitted new ignition coils to my 1980 xj650. Bike now starts fine and will tickover at 1000-1200 rpm all day. Trouble is getting the revs to go any higher, it misfires and splutters when you open the throttle and when it eventually hist around 2000 revs the power kicks in really suddenly. nothing appears to be sticking but obviously something's wrong. I'm not sure it's related to the coils. it may be because the bike sat in my shed for 6 weeks before the new coils were fitted? any ideas?

  16. hate making a new thread for issues brought up before but I couldn't find the thread that all the info to reply to. anyways I converted my brake lights to led go here to see more about that and I thought it would be good now to put in led turn signal bulbs. well I ordered the bulbs from http://stores.ebay.com/wardenjp2002 and I knew it wasn't going to be as easy and plugging them and they would work.     Hello to everyone, My name is Nick and live in West London. I have been riding bikes of all types since 1978 and have just purchased a DT175 for a trip down 'memory lane'. Because of this purchase I figured I would join this forum for some like-minded people and some helpful advice. The little Yam was registered in 1979 and has a tubular monoshock swingarm not the box-section item - does that make it an 'E' or an MX?   18. My son would like a top case on his RD to put helmet, boots and cordura pants in when he rides to school next spring. I thought I better start looking early, since I suppose it's not the most common bike to put stuff like that on... Does anybody know if it's even possible? The main thing is that it's lockable, since he fears that they will steal anything that's not locked in, so a soft bag won't work.

    Hello, i was wondering if any of you guys know wether the exhaust of a DT 125 AT1 1973 can be used on a DT 125 E 1977? i have no chance to see one in person so i can´t check wether the connection to the cylinder are the same. thanks a lot michael
