Hello, I have a 1975 Yamaha RS 100, and I have trouble on this simple 6v system for the turn signals, Turnsignals are all mounted and grounded, I bought a new relay switch, When I start the bike and turn the blinker switch to the right or left I hear one click in the relay then I notice that the blinker lights stay on but dont flash, my battery is fully charged, I dont understand why it is not working. If anybody has some info that can help me, please let me know. Thank you, Brendon

What color wire goes to the pulser and coils? Reason why the bike runs backwards ( for real) check the manual color codes and still nothing. Any ideas?? (charging coil is brown and black and the pulser is red and white and green and white) it doesn't show which wires go were? The bike was in parts and someone taken the coils and wiring apart put back together wrong. that is why I am puzzled. We timed it (2.7mm before top dead center, pulser lined up with the mark.) Didn't start just back fired. The pulser when we got it the wires green/white was on one side and the other side was grounded. Ran backwards??? So if anyone has any ideas about the wiring. I have a yamaha M…

Does anyone know if there is a dedicated owners group for YG owners anywhere online? I'm talking about the YG1 and YG5 Trailmaster 80cc bikes of the '60s. Not sure if there were other models in this series.

My son's going to drive his 125 DX a bit more in speed than I thought, he's gotten himself a summer job with a commute on a highway with 100 km/h speed limit. And without a fairing he's acting like a parachute in that speed! So does anybody know of a type of fairing that will fit a DX? Not a full fairing, of course. Just a headlight fairing with a bit of a wind screen on it. I was thinking about something like this, but I don't know if it will be any good: It's from the US eBay and not that expensive either: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f16400a03 It says it's for a 7" headlight, and I measured the headlight on the DX to around 16 cm, which is 6,…

On my RS200, and I assume most front drum-braked '70s/'80s bikes that used the same front brake lever, the righhand mirror has a lefthand thread and the lefthand mirror has a conventional righthand thread. What's going on here then? Anyone know the reason for this? It can't be so that wind pressure at speed does not unscrew them, as they both have the wrong handed thread for that, so what can be the design reason for this? It buggers me up a bit as I have a very nice pair of chromed mirrors to put on the bike, but both have righthand threads. I think it's going to be a case of drilling, sleeving and recutting a righthand thread in the righthand brake lever.

I just bought a bike and need help with the vin. No one can tell me the year so I can get a service manual and parts. Vin number is 9663vca04m0006378 the engine number is 3bc006378. Motor verse says its a 91 from brazil but that's all. Other forum people tell me that it's an 80s model but that's all. I need to know so I can start this project. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please help. Thanks.

Hey all, I am in the process of getting my 1970 R5 on the road after a few mechanical improvements but am looking for a little help with the electrical, hoping you guys might have some thoughts on this. I've purchased some turn signals for her, but am not sure of their installation. In the rear, bundled up in the stoplight bracket, are a few wires, and I think only a three of them should be there, the others look like they might go to the turn signals. To the stop light, there is a yellow, blue and black, that all go to the stop light socket. Those three look like they belong there. There is also a brown, and two black there, with wire nuts on them (nice). I think o…

Went for a ride the other day and we noticed my turn signals not blinking. They were solid. When I parked the bike, the flasher unit (metal cylinder under the tank) was buzzing audibly. I turned off the bike and it stopped. Sprayed the handlebar switch with wd 40 and changed fuses later that night. Checked and removed the flasher unit. Now there's no lights at all with it reinstalled. Flasher does click once if I use signal switch, but lights don't come on at all. All bulbs test fine for continuity. 1. Battery charges up to about 12.22 on trickle charge. Bike starts fine. 2. Swapped old flasher unit for new one, heavy duty three prong flasher 32cp max. Not sure …

Heidi, The DT is doing pretty well these days, just a few issues. One of these is that under leisurely acceleration, she kind of sputters along, always increasing revs but acting like I just woke her up and she's reluctant to respond to my gentle carress. Ooh. If I insist and dial on the throttle, she responds willingly, indeed, voraciously with no hesitation. Clean, smooth, robust acceleration. The original carb died from varnish cancer, so the one I have now is one of those ebay $40 specials, ostensibly for my model. I did install the correct slide and needle, which survived the old carb and the clip is in the correct position. I wouldn't think my woes are ele…

Hello lads, Doing electrical on a 1976 xs 360. I may need to replace my coils. They're both showing around 9.2 for the primary coil (orange wire to plug lead), but showing zero for the secondary coils. (orange wire to red wire) Also the voltage regulator is way out of spec. Instead of showing 10.5 ohms resistance, I get 112.3 (red/black to brown wire) ohms. Another wonky number for (green wire to brown wire) measurement. 111 ohms. If I can only find 1977 coils or voltage regulators, will they do as well? Cheers, Drew

Just bought a 74 DT175 soaked the carbs, sparkling clean now. Replaced spark plug and fuel line, coated tank, new oil. Getting good spark, fuel into carb, oil to cylinder from pump, can hear throttle work properly, set air mix screw at 2 turns out and idle screw at 3 turns out. With choke out starts right up but idles at 8000 rpm. Put choke in immediately dies. No air filter in, I don't know if that would cause any of this. Any help would be great. Thanks Problem solved. Was leak at crankcase to carb joint.
