Hi All, Been a while since i posted last, so here goes. I have this XT125 that has been an almighty pain in the backside, it wouldn't run properly so its been stripped and rebored and rebuilt. Second kick of th starter, and the end of the shaft broke off, which was frustrating. I have changed the kickstart shaft, but it seems the small lug in the crank casing that makes the starter spring back has broken off. I have found some casings online for sale, but the engine number i have doesn't seem to look like any of the others, ie mine starts X12V- rather than the 15E- or 10A- of the engines for sale online. So my question is this, โฆ

Hi. I have just split my casings and replaced all bearings, I have rebuilt the casings and all the bottom end. I have started filling gearbox with oil and after 1/2 litre it reads the correct level on the dipstick, the manual says the capacity is 1.1 litres. Any ideas on what ive done wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Graham

I have a 2 stroke oil leak coming from what looks like the reed block gasket (you can see a drop of oil on the bottom of the cylinder and one on the clutch arm). Does anybody know what's going on here? Do I simply need to replace the reed gasket or could there be a problem with the oil pump? Thanks,

First of all i would like to introduce myself i am George, i own this beautiful bike and this is my first post . Now to the point that prevents me to enjoy my bike. One day the bike just didnt want to start at all after a chain tightment i made my self. The first problem i noticed was that the fuel pump was not priming at all and it didn't do that weird "Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink" while the "checking" of lights on the dashboard was functional. It would crank over but no spark, no fuel priming. I teared apart the whole bike electrical system and changed the following: New wire harness with new diode/relays, new ignition key barrel, new fuel pump and still nothing. Of course fiโฆ

Hi all Its been a while. I have just 'completed' a ride from Ushuaia to Alaska on my 2009 Tenere. It died on me 25 miles from Hyder Alaska. A friend towed me in for the last stretch. It appears my battery is no longer being charged. The stator seems to be sending out voltage to the 3 pin plug so the problem lies between that plug and the battery. I found a small hole in the top of what i think is the voltage regulator. Maybe it got some water in it and shorted. The part number for that item is 5vk-81950-40.Does anyone know if this is likely to be the problem? I have checked all the fuses (unless there are some hidden ones somewhere) and looked over the wiring. I am now sโฆ

After my previous work on the bike I found the problem to be low compression and the cylinder was replaced. The bike now starts every time and idles at 1500, as i set it to that, but as soon as any play with the throttle happens and the revs go above 3k, it doesn't want to come down past that mark. Pilot screw is fine and from my knowledge there is no space for an air leak anywhere.

Hi All, Need some help please. Just joined you and impressed with info etc available. I have just dragged from a shed a 1990 (ish) XT350 which I was told is an import ? nothing to prove or back this up though. I had her running but had a terrible knocking which turned out to be big end wear, now rebuilt and I'm working through tidying her up. Issue is I have only a frame number (with matching engine no) for the bike, I want to register it but DVLA site is as good as the Yamaha ashtray !! can anyone firstly help me identify the year and also point me in the right direction to register the bike. Frame no 001181 that's all I have. โฆ

My spark plug is oily, I premix my fuel so that is not issue. I am worried it might be crank seal but I am not sure... And it produces some strange rattling noise coming from cylinder maybe top bearing?

so, after a lot of work and trial and error including valve clearances and more, i cannot get the bike to start with ease, it takes a while with me covering the air filter to form a vacuum for it to start up, and even then it kicks into a high rpm until a few seconds after, this problem is then resolved by a warmed up engine but when the throttle is twisted the rpm seems to stick for a longer amount of time. I suspect a carb problem but thought id ask a few more owners for advice.

I was wondering what is the size of the hub, axle and the rim i need and is their a straight fit from some other bike/model. I thing my rim is 1.85x18, but dont know the size of the hub and axle. Im new with motors so excuse me for the dumb questions and sorry if i have broke some rules. Thank you in advance!

Hi all, just won a couple of XTs on fleabag and need to get them on the road, they are not registered and are off road based. Googling round there is not a specific workshop manual but does anyone know if the XT600 has the same engine so I can use that one? Cheers Owen

Hello, I bought Yamaha YZ250F 2017. I have one question. I know that Starter knob/idle screw is for starting a cold bike, but when I put it back on original position and if I turn it clockwise, the motorbike stop running. In manual doesnt write anything about turning the knob, only to pull it out for cold machine and put it in again when is warm. And on knob is written "open" if you turn it anticlockwise. Can someone explain me what turning this button do? Can I have impact maybe on how much air runs into machine or something like that? Thank you and best regards, Matevz
