Sup guys! First time here as a memeber.. Got a Yamaha DT125R from 2003, last couple times I've turned the ignition on I heard a really wierd sound from YPVS. Its like *Sound, pause, sound* but a quite short pause there. What did sound from at the beginning was the sound at the end, but now it all just sounds completly fked up to be honest.. : So what shall I do, may I record it and upload it here so you understand what I mean?

Hey guys' Need a bit of advice with my DT 125 R '89. I've recently rebuilt the engine and I've done over 1000 miles but I've fiddle a bit.... I've replaced the Rees valve with a racing reed and before I brough it, it had a DEP down pipe and a Big One End Silenecer... So to the point should I change the jet at all? Thanks, Zimbo

I just bought a 2003 wr450 that has been sitting four the past 4 years. I bought a new spark plug and cleaned the carb and jets. I kicked this thing all day and only got it started 4-5 times but couldn't keep it running. The electric start doesn't work. I've read up on in and was told by the previous owner it is z factory defect in this year and model. Is there a trick to stating this thing. Every time it did start, it was shortly after I messed with the red knob on the bottom of the carburetor. I think its the hot start knob. But I think I have a jot start lever. I don't know. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It may sound kinda bumb, no punn intended, but has anyone installed one of these air horns on the ole xt? I use the bike for a few things and one is transportation while camping. On some of the more traveled roads there are a few people that don't bother to check the mirrors before they pull out. Anyway has anyone put one of these things on their xt and if so where did you put it and how did it work out? thanks

OK, folks, newbie here. On the site, not to bikes. I recently acquired the pictured(if I can get it posted) 78 dt-e, at least that's what the title shows. However, I don't think it's a 175, as IIRC the 175 dt's had the exhaust routed on the right side of the bike and this has it on the left. As you can see, it's had some strange owners who had uniqe ideas of paint, etc. WIP, believe me. Anyway, anyone got an idea of what engine I have? It's been snowing and I haven't been out to check the cylinder cc's, does have a six-speed box like a dt. Hmm, can't find any instructions on posting a pic, some help there would be nice. Ray

just wondering realy if a 150/70/17 tyre fit on my dtx? as the standard is 140/70/17, did it to my cbr 125 made it alot more stable at higher speeds, cheers

Hi, can anyone give me any more info on de-restricting my wrr. Im pritty sure theres not much i can do after a after market exhaust without big boreing it. Electricaly are they similar to the late dt's? Cheers Paddy

I'm 90% there on buying a used '99 WR 400. ANy problem areas I should look for? I had a friend that bought a used CRF 450 and had quite a bit of work with the cylinder head. Without taking the thing apart, any good way of assessing how worn the engine is?

I am just starting to put the engine back together and when I went to put the clutch basket on I noticed that there is play between the gear and the basket. It moves about an 1/8 of an inch. Is that normal? It doesn't seem to me. I have a spare engine for it and on that clutch basket someone has welded the gear to the plate that is riveted to the basket.

May have outsmarted myself here. Just finished a resto on another 74 DT360A. Sold it on ebay last week ($3200) Had it running like new but noticed a slight leak around the shift shaft and decided to replace the seal. After replacing the seal, I had trouble getting the circlip in the slot - no clearance - had to pull on the shaft to expose the slot? When re-installing the shift lever, I had to tap on it to get it on the shaft. When i started it for a test ride, the shifter would not engage. I pulled the shaft out about 1/2" and was able to shift into first, but it won't upshift into any other gear. It was getting dark, so I rolled it in for the night. Any thoughts? Did …

Hoping some carb guru's can help me out here. I have a '74 DT175A I got last fall from a friend, along with a bunch of spare parts he had been buying on Ebay. I posted a question here back in the fall introducing myself and to find out the standard carb settings. Since then I've also come into some PDF manuals. Last fall, I got the bike to start and run, but the original petcock leaked so I wasn't able to check out much. Having watched the winter go by without touching the bike (daughter's wedding this April) I finally got a new petcock installed on the bike to replace the old leaky one. The little Yamaha starts and runs at first with choke (enricher) plunger…

Hey guys was going for a ride on my DT 125 2000 when half way through my trip the bike just died. and after removing the spark plug and replacing it there is no spark. I have replace the ignition coil and regulator but still no joy the the dash works etc..... but bit strange how the bike just died. any ideas?

I have had my 1979 DT250 MX in the garage and I am finally getting round to sorting it out. I cannot find anywhere in the manual where it tells you where to connect the autolube oil output to. I have a photo of my Carb here http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l503/roffster/Yamaha%20DT%20250%20MX/carb2.jpg But the obvious looking nipple on here is listed as a breather in the manual. Can anyone advise where the oil feed connects please?
