as we all know the uk is a wet country so if you take your dtr 125 e on the dirt you have to get used to going through water. if my dtr goes through a few deep puddles or tractor ruts somehow water and all sorts of crap gets into the carb and i can not for the life of me find out where does anyone else have the same problem?

I have gearbox oil leaking from behind the flywheel I think? I cant be sure untl I get the flywheel off. Can this happen or is it more likely the sprocket seal or clutch? If it is the crank seal, how do I fix it?? I have heard it can be done in situ, but I have no idea how, any help much appreciated. Ed

I just got this bike from my grandpa. It was sitting up north for a few years since the last time it was used. Currently, it will start up and run for a bit, but after a few it bogs out. To me it seems like it's not getting enough gas. The carburetor has been cleaned out and I have checked pretty much everything else. My dad mentioned that the oil pump might not be working correctly, but I'm not sure how to tell. My guess is that it's just not getting gas though. Also, I messed something up, took off the crankcase to fix it and obviously lost all of the oil that was in it. I'm new to bikes and was wondering what kind of oil you put in a crankcase. Is it a specific …

hello there people, i have a 2003 yamaha dtr 125 and it has a problem. when i run the bike and reach to about 7000 rpm, the gearbox is spewing a creamy substance out between the crank case and the engine block. what im wondering is if the seal has gone, and if so, what kind of a job is it. and is the gearbox supposed to build up pressure? now go easy on me as im new to this club and do not have that much experience with fixing bike engine ect. cheers

Got these from eBay for £20, what a bargain. I fitted them today and they're brilliant from stopping the cold and rain on my hands.

  10. Does anyone know what this is called or have apart number? Its the clouded/white plastic clip that guides the front brake hose down to the caliper and holds it to the fork leg. I need a replacement and can't find it on the parts manual/ diagram.

Hi, Newbie here, Have recently bought an 89 DTR125R, which wasn't running too well.. I firstly cleared out all of the old fuel, filled the tank with a good semi synth 2T, stripped and cleaned the flatslide carb. and cleaned and oiled the air filter. New BR9ES plug slotted into place, hit the button and off I went,, But not too quickly, it was stuttering and mis firing, then clearing a little but would not go past 40mph, My immediate suspicion was the power valve. Taking off the cover i was confronted with a short length of threaded bolt but no head and the pulley floating about doing not much. I removed the (DEP) exhaust and, following suggestions found on this site, reset…

Hi, This is my first post having just joined. Thanks for the warm welcome DirtyDT. I am in the process of buying a DT175MX 1981. It is claimed to be a stock bike with a 15T front and 49T rear sprocket. However with this setup it only does 50MPH at 7000 RPM (Claimed by dealer). By my reckoning this means it will only do about 57MPH on the redline. The dealer is in the process of fitting a 16T front sprocket as I intend to use it mainly on the road. However surely the top speed stated by yamaha of about 65MPH should be possible with the stock gearing of 15T and 49T with out redlining it? Even if the 16T sprocket cures the issue surely it is just masking a problem elsewhe…
