i would like to build an 18 inch front wheel for my DT to use some road tyres I have, and was wondering what rims would fit, I have learned that you cant just chuck any old 36 hole rim on because the angles are different due to hub diameters etc. Does anyone have any ideas?? Cheers Ed

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I recently picked up a 2002 DT 175 in great condition and with only about 5,000 kms (3,000 miles) on it. Mainly bought it for my wife to learn to ride on and for us both to do some trail riding in the nearby hills and forests ( I run a DR 650). It's been years since I owned a 2 -stroke. I did run around on a DT 175 as a teenager in the 70's but can't remember much about any wrinkles it may have had. Despite low miles the bike sounds like it has a rattle, which I have a very half arsed idea could be the little end. The rattle worsens as motor warms and is in time with increase or decrease in revs. It could be of course be that this is just …

Hey all and thanks for looking! Im in some need of some help with a 1980 MX 175. The story goes, the previous owner ran it and loved it, but then the premix pump when out and he burned the rings/Sleeve. So its been sitting in a storage unit the last couple years. Theres also a couple mm's of play in the connecting rod at the crank, and he's not sure whats acceptable. He seemed to know what he was talking about, and he also had a bunch more projects going on.i went to take a look at it and its not too bad, but ive never rebuilt a bike before so i need some help. Im also trying to keep it as cheap as possible, sub 300, with 100 spent on the bike. Its not a race bike, but jus…

Hi Guys Recently my bike has started making a crunching/grinding sound all of a sudden as I'm just riding along. I think it is connected to the gears. Also when I set off in first gear it makes a clicking noise and like bounces. It has got worse and today it did it when I was going down hill. The best I can describe it is...... As though your riding along in top gear at 50 mph, then all of a sudden you drop it in to first and let the clutch out.???????????? Please can someone help me, I don't have a clue about mechanics and I don't want to ride my bike until it's sorted in case I make it worse. I thought it could be the gear oil needs changing, but I can't find it,…
