im led to beleive that by using a smaller back sprocket i will get more top end speed,how many teeth do i need to go down on from the standard sprocket

hi there im new to this forum im at my wits end with my bloody xt 125 i have put 2 new speedos on this bike and all have blew a puff of smoke out of them after a few days i have checked all the connections and have recently found that i have no number plate light bulb in the rear.....could this be the problem ..... any suggestions would be appreciated .as i cant afford another 100 quid for a new speedo .....let me know people thanks again ....james........

Hello all, First Yamaha for this guy. Bought neighbors DT50 for my young one to learn how to ride/shift. Kicks over and starts/runs fine. Instantly goes to full throttle. Also, tach doesn't work and has a a couple broken lenses/stalks for signals. Are these easy to still purchase? Are any of these easy fixes? It is still using the Autolube system, which is working. Should I keep using it or bypass for premix. All of my other smokers are vintage and use oil injection, but are all Suzuki. Is the Yamaha system as reliable? Other than that, the bike is in solid original condition with only 1411 US miles on it. What else can anyone share on the older DT…

The bike is a 1973 yamaha ct3. The engine has spark, fuel, and compression. The timing is off by 90 degrees and I have no idea how to fix this problem. There doesn't look like there's any way to adjust it and these are all factory components...I must be missing something. Any help? Thanks.

Couple months ago I had a really good site bookmarked, but after a harddriver-crash I had to get a new one and lost that site. The reason to that I'm looking for the site it because they had plastic to Yamaha DT125R 2003, just like mine, and other "odd/old" 125ccs like CRM etc, not the newer one as WRR or whatever they are called. Front mudguard, rear mudgard, sidecovers and the covers for the tank all that for less then 200€, which is fairly a good price to be.. hi i recently took my bike to the garage as it wasnt running rite eg spluttering at high revs and not reving up though the rev range,they cleaned the carb,tryed upjetting it,checked the piston and powervalve all good it was still the same so they removed the airbox snorkal and now no spluttering and will rev rite upto the red line if need be but now its really hard to start ,sucking in to much air in now i supose would down jetting solve this the current jet is a 240,only mode is a big one exhaust.

hi lads my mate has given me his xt125r 05 to look at and It doesn't have any compression and won't start so i have started to take it to bits to check valves and what not but the timing marks on the cam sprocket don't match up with the mark on the case when piston is at top dead,Is the timing the same as an honda c50 like the o mark lines up with the v mark on the case,This is like 8 teeth out, Anyway if anyone can help me it would be great. thanks. ps i am new here and it looks good

Hi Folks Recently broke the rear light & a few other odds & ends on my bike, which I have now replaced, however there is a terrible buzzing sound coming from the indicator relay under the seat/rear mudguard area. When I turn the ignition key, the neutral & oil lights no longer light up & I can't hear the little whirring sound that I used to get. The bike will start ok & these lights then come on, however the indicators then will not work unless I am on the throttle, at which point they seem to flash with a strange rhythm. I tried removing the rear footpegs on my XT but couldn't. By the looks of it I will have to chop the off with a stihl saw or grinder. I don't like them, they get in the way and look shit. Any suggestions on what to do, or how to go about it?

Hi All, I hope someone can help me fix the electrical problem with my CT2. Brakelight works fine if I leave he headlights off. If I turn them on, brake light is permanently on and the other filament in the bulb glows faintly when I apply the brakes. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks, Adil

my dtr sm came with a standard exhaust and dep end can,i had a dep exhaust fitted and ever since my jacket and if carrying a rucksack smell badly of oil after a ride out wether it be for 5 mins or an hour.does anyone else have this problem with the full dep system fitted?

hi was wondering can anyone help me with the wiring of my dt?it would be a great help if i knew where the main electrical bits attach to the bike like the voltage regulator,flasher,rectifier etc.the bike had no wiring except for coil on off switch just enuf to have the engine running i want to put it all back on.i have all the bits and the hanes manual guide to do it,its not helping very much doh.the way the wiring is on the bike now is confusing me il try and explain it here ders 4 wires coming from the engine going to a black box which manual says is a fuse and the diagram shows it near the battery??but on the bike its attached near the coil that goes to spark plug the …

Decided to overhaul my carb today. wish i hadnt After removing the air box rubbers, the intake rubbers split as i removed them.. can you get um??? i cant find any for love nor money.. the only lead i have they are £100. I think i may go down the ali welding route and get some pipe welded on the collars and use silicone hose to join them up!!!!! to try to fix it , if it aint fixed dave
