These are US colors and hence don't look as good as some of the eurospec models.

I have a Yamaha FZR600R and a month ago fitted little neon lights. No problems there. Recently had heated grips fitted too. It went fine for 20 miles or so, then cut out on the motorway. No warning, no spluttering, just zero engine power. I pulled onto the hard shoulder and tried restarting the engine. The starter motor was very perky and the lights were on full beam i.e the battery was not flat - it just wouldn't start as if I had no petrol (full tank before you ask). I called the RAC and the guy tested the battery. With the lights and hotgrips on there was only 12.7V at the battery which is one whole volt less than it needs. He jump-started it and it went fine (hot …

  5. Hi all, Just bought a Yam 2003 R6 last month after passing my DAS. It's my first bike (well, if you exclude swapping my Astra car for a mint Honda NSR 125 many years ago) after destroying the NSR over the course of a year and a half, I gave biking up. To be honest I didnt really start as I didnt have any proper gear at the time. Now, Im older, wiser and have a wifey who wouldnt let me get the bike unless I was kitted out in the right gear (leathers, boots, decent lid etc etc) I know the weather has been rubbish here in scotland recently but I did manage to get out for a few days, and I just wanted to say that BIKING IS FANTASTIC !!! cant believe I left it …

  10. Hello folks, I have a late 1994 M-Reg UK Yamaha FZR600R Foxeye Does anyone know what model number this is? I need a new swinging arm as mine is rusted to buggery and they're cheap on ebay but I need to make sure it will fit before I buy. Some on there say things like 3he, 4jh - what is mine? Will the swinging arm be the same as, for example, a 1991 FZR600? How can I find out? Also, anyone know where I can get a swinging arm as cheap as ebay? Cheers KaiBosh

I bought a 1997 YZF600R a few months ago. It still has the stock exhaust on it. I am sick of it sounding like a pissed off sewing macheine. Does any one have a good suggestion for an exhaust? Something loud and deep if possible. Thanks

I'm new to the road bike world but i've just started learning CBT on SAt and a few lessons then off for a 5 day DAS in a few weeks. i'm quiet stocky and looking fro my first real road bike. i did like the GSXR600 or R6 but seam too small for me, and i have been told a little too daft for my first bike. i was recomended a thundercat but i can find much out about them. would they be recomended as a started sports bike? are they that much slower that the others? i.e will it struggle to keep up with my mate CBR600RR? please help.. just got change of a cheap cosmetic damaged thundercat ... cheers

Ello peeps I was looking for a new pair of wheels and stumbled across this place - it's nice to see other bikers waxing lyrical about their pride and joy - makes me feel a bit less obsessive about my own little beauty. Here she is: DynoJet stage 1, K&N filter, Scorpion can; will consume for breakfast ANY other 600 I come across. I'm very much looking forward to picking all your brains for tuning tips and cheap parts! Peace KaiBosh

Hi. I wrecked my brand new 2006 R6 learning to ride it. To keep a long story short, I'm a huge idiot who made a 10,000 mistake. I can't take pictures detailing the damage yet, but I can describe a bit of the damage. The front end of the frame snapped off that connected the front wheel/handle bars to the bike and the windshield and side view mirrors are non existent. The middle and rear end of the body is mainly intact, including the engine. The only major damage to the rest of the bike/engine (aside from the plastic flimsy molding) it is a dent in my headers and I believe the oil pan was ripped open. The engine had about 10 miles total on it. I can either try …

Ive been looking for a set of throwover panniers for my cat so i can whisk my better half away for the weekend, but in all the pictures ive seen the positioning seems to cover or severely restrict access to the rear pegs for pillions. Is it possible to carry pillion with soft panniers or do i need to buy the hard ones? Also any recommended brands?
