I've done it! I am PX my 1996 600 Diversion for a brand new 600 Fazer on Saturday. Can't wait. But does anyone know of any decent cut-down seat for one or any reputable companies who would cut down the original seat in the North West. I'm only 5ft 3 and its a little bit tall. OK to ride, but wouldn't want to drop it if I had to stop at a junction with an akward camber. Had a test ride yesterday and I loved it.

I trying to get my 1981 XS400 on the road and I just cleaned the tank and petcock. When I reattached it, gas leaked from where the petcock attaches to the tank. I assume that the o-ring needs to be replaced and I ordered a new one; however, I wondered if anyone uses any kind of sealant, silicone or oil on the o-ring to help with the seal. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks, BrewTrooper

Hi, I am new to R1 although not new to bikes. I have been riding a R6 for some time now, but recently shifted to R1. The model is 05 (2nd hand )done about 3000 km's. I wanted to know from experienced people the following. 1- Why does R1 have more mechanical sound from the engine than R6. 2- Why is the engine of R1 so rough at low rpm's as compared to R6. Is the mechanical noise / roughness normal or there is something wrong with the bike. Best regards, Sanjay

  9. All, You were all kind enough to chip about my questions relating to the FZR600R, I have now passed my test and got the bike and love it...however I am finding it hard to find performance parts on the web due to the age of the bike. Anyone know any good websites or numbers of places I can call? Im after a grab rail and a tinted screen in particular.... Cheers in advance. Paul.

Hello, New here. Just been looking at trading my 1996 XJ600S diversion in for a Fazer. Looked at a 2003 model - then saw the 2006 model was offering 0% finance and only £1500 dearer! A now face a couple of problems and advise would be appreciated. 1. I'm only 5ft 3 and the 2003 model was a bit lower. 2006 may need the seat lowering about 1". 2. I have full givi luggage on the Diversion (went round Europe a couple of years ago and WILL do it again, with the 2003 model I can get a wingrack fitting kit. The 2006 model I can only get a tubular system and the indicators look like they have been attached with a piece of meccano! Does anyone have either o…

Your comments will be appreciated....

After many years of riding "conventional" bikes I recently bought an XV250 Route 66 cruiser but find I am not comfortable with the "sit up and beg" riding style. I love the bike otherwise and so was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to convert the handlebars, footrest etc to more conventional street bike settings. Or is that sacrilege ? !!

Hello, In advance of a new project, I am wondering if Yamaha has ever produced a factory model ID guide like the one Honda has? I am looking for a listing of ALL Yamaha street bikes produced, with their changes from year to year. Sales brochures are a good source too, so any assistance with this material would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Doug

I think I made an impulse buy... Long story short, I wanted to get a bike to commute to work. The kid from across the street had a friend that was selling one and he brought it over for me to look at. I took it for a spin and liked it... It has some problems that I was unsure of, but bought it anyway... It's a 1976 650 Special 2. It has 17,000 miles on it. 1. Gas was leaking out of the petcock on the reserve side. I tightened up the bolt it was leaking out of, and it has seemed to stopped for now. I think that just needs a new seal. 2. The battery is not charging. He said he put a new one on it. So it could be generator, wire, etc. 3. The gas cap does not lock do…

Big hi folks, I'm doing a usd fork and R6 swinger conversion on my RZ500 and was wondering if someone could tell me what the rake angle and trail measurements are on late model yamaha sports bikes (R1/R6)? Your owners manual should have this on the spec page. I'd like to get these measurements as close to current specs as possible as I'll be running wider wheels and handling will suck with stock rake and trail. Thanks in advance. Matty.
