After 5000 miles on my fz6 my head baring has broken. The warranty has expiered by a couple of months and iI now have a bill of around £170. I am not an aggressive rider in the fact I don't wheelie down the roads. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I was wondering if i was to put thicker oil (MOTUL FORK OIL EXPERT, MEDIUM/HEAVY 15W ) in the front forks would this give me less dive when applying the breaks therfore cause less stress on the front end? PLEASE HELP!

I am returning to motorbiking after a long break and have dived straight in with a 2001 R1 Can anyone give some advice on how easy it is to ride, how forgiving it will be, power delivery, things to look out for etc? I have seen the early R6 can be a bit of a bitch and not very forgiving, is that just because of the power peak whereas the R1 has a better torque curve? Thanks

I bought my 94 SecaII last October from a motorcycle enthusiast. This guy had bought it from a husband and wife and the wife rode the SecaII and her husband had another bike so I'm pretty sure that my bike was not abused (as it was ridden by an older woman). The guy I bought it from did some work to it such as: jet kit and carb rebuild (dunno what stage jet kit), K&N Velocity Stack intakes for each carb, he replaced the vacuum fuel pump with an electronic one that would normally go on an ultra-light aircraft - he said he matched the PSI of the electronic pump exactly (somewhere around 4 PSI) and also installed a Vance&Heines 4into1 exhaust. He only put about 500 m…

Recently purchased an '07 V Star 1100 Classic Silverado. This weekend my husband put new Yamaha Passing Lights on (not a fun job). I now discover my windshield has to be raised and the plastic chrome colored piece that previously covered the center of the light bar will not fit back on since this new light bar is not straight in the middle. Any solutions from anyone? I actually LIKED the windshield positioned low and the cover on the light bar hid some things that made it look clean and finished. Thanks! Kathie

Greetings all! I recently picked up a new Roadliner, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I was exploring sidecar options to expand the riding experience (primarily w/ the dog), but it was hinted at by one manufacturer that the aluminum frame wouldn't work well with a sidecar. Any thoughts/experience with this?

Hi Guys, Newbie here, hope you can help. Tonight I took my 2001 model R1 out which I have just purchased. After an hours riding the speedo went blank, and then came back on and then went off again. When I then slowed down at a junction the bike just cut out and would not start. When I got it back into the garage, I tried to start it again, but I am only getting a buzzing noise coming from a black box with two screws on it under the seat. I had a look and it has denso 12V written on it, next to the battery. I think this is the CDI unit or starter??? Any help appreciated. Thanks Ian

Just put my deposit down on a 52 plate Thundercat... so I'm just after a few pointers for living with it... Bike will mostly be used for commuting / distance work so I'll be racking the miles up. I'm thinking of either Pirelli Diablo Stradas / Bridgestone BT020's / Metzeler Z6's - any preference between these of Cat owners out there? Bearing in mind riding will include cold / wet / winter. What "quality" of oil do you guys use? I'm torn between splashing the extra on Castrol, or just sticking with Halfords as I've always used in the B12. Is it a motor that loves the cheap stuff or does it need to be mollycoddled? What kind of fuel economy / tank range …

I think I might have bitten off a bit more than I can chew - but the project has had it's first race rostrum. Please visit Gordon's site to find out more: Gordon's Alive Or the blog is more regularly updated: Gordon's Blog I just thought that Yamaha SZR owners worldwide might like to see what can be done. All the best. Mike.

Hi, Just passed my test a week ago and my 2006 R6 was delivered this morning with "0" miles :-D Anyway, to run it in the book says "no more than 8500 rpm for 1000 miles"... There still seems like plenty of poke AFAIAC nearly hitting 90 and nowhere near 6000 nevermind 8... Its all happys days BUT... just read the manual again, the Shift Change Indicator on the lower right of the console I understand can be reprogrammed which is a gucci idea... but someone missed a trick when it came to running it in in the first place... I thought that "why don't I change this level to 8500 so I know that I won't be going over it (too often for the min)" which would be okay, bu…

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 Views please. I am happy that it is from a dealer. The security I am not sure on the mileage. Would this be considered normal or high? Not all MOT and most of Service? Would you be concerend by this? Other than the fact it will mean a lower purchase price and a lower sale price pending that I can keep it shiny side up Thanks *EDIT* Just called the dealer going to call back in a couple of days and they will dig all the paperwork out for me. Also if anyone is in the Swindon area and could have a look round and a test ride for me. I am looking at comind down on sunday to have a look round it…
