Ok, so I picked up this 81xs400......head tube numbers scratched off. Is there any other vin number locations? Also, theres a number on the case (4T5-000561) Whats it for? What does it mean? Thanks in advance!

So which fueld do you use and do you notice any difference? When i picked te bike up tuesday it was gilled with Total excellium. A day later it was filled up with cheap supermarket 95ron. I noticed a drop in power low down in higher gears. It seemed very flat around 4K. Went out for a ride tonight just to burn this petrol and have again topped up with some 97. I will report my findings tomorrow. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Hi all i am new member and i am just about to do my DA course hopefully i will pass first time.I am wondering what bike to purchase once i pass i have ridin bikes for years on and off the road but this was when i was younger bout 7 years ago to be honest god just made feel old im now 29 got a senseible head(so i think). I really do want the new R6 2007 model BUT NOT SURE IF THIS IS WISE i really am looking for some good ADVICE and hope to make some good mates to I have not seen any other bike i like but i not sure what is out there. BUT COME ON IT IS A NICE MACHINE!!!!!!!

I recently bought my first motorcycle. I am planning on replacing the tires in about a month and a half and was seriously considering road slicks. Has anyone used them or can anyone make any recommendations on a brand? Also, is it a bad idea to use slicks and why?

Which is the best... My opinion: I have to say i came off a thundercat and onto a 2006 gsxr 600 - WOW! I tried other bikes - but this one was astounding! I'm sorry to have moved away from yamaha and i am not biased to either model - i just thought this was the best overall 600cc i tried and i am very impressed with it in all aspects compared to other 600's - I will obviously remain a yamaha member as i am a great lover of their bikes - but this year the gixxer kicked serious ass! Just wondering what other experiences you may have had comparing or test riding other 600's as the market for them now is so competitive..... Cheers.....

I've been looking at getting an MT-01, after all... it LOOKS and SOUNDS fantastic!!! I ended up taking a demo out (with stage 1 exhaust upgrade). My first impression of the massive throbbing V-twin was similiar to riding a cattle grid! (fun at first). Also, the torque was emense, to the point i was gripping on with my knees to rest my wrists as i attempted to 'gently' ride through stationary traffic (wasn't til i remebered I had a clutch, which again was quite an odd sensation, but the only way to stop to popping-engine-lunge). Hey guys, i got a XJ 750 as a project. I have the engine working fine and the bodywork just needs painting. I have one problem and thats the tank. There was dints in the tank, so the last owner cut the petrol cap out and knocked them back into place. My question is, how do i put a new one on? Can i just buy any cap and drill the holes needed? i got a 95 fzr600 and i was wondering what the gear / shift pattern is eg. 1 down 5 up or what not. my bike is extremely sluggish taking off untill about 4k rpm doon know what it could be bike has been sitting for two years just flushed gas changed plugs and oil and used carb cleaner. any ideas i just thoguht i could have the wrong gear set up ni my head and was shifting wrong. also my bike seeems to run exc. exept the taking off part idles right and everything.

Hey. I'm brand new to this forum. It seems to have alot of users with alot of great info. I'm looking for new or used, full or partial exhaust for my 87 tzr 250. I'm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Local places would be incredible but of course online i'm sure is my best bet. I'm also looking for a carb rebuild kit or ideally if anyone offers new replacement OEM spec carbs that would be golden. If anyone has any advice on where to find either please let me know. I currently ride my GSXR but my girlfriend is getting her license this weekend so i'd like to get the TZR in full order for her to ride soon. Thanx.

Hi, back in July 06 I had an accident. (can no longer ride a bike) The engine just decided to die as I dropped the throttle off during an overtaking manuever, when a car was coming the opposite way. The motor cutting out made the rear wheel slide (as if siezed), I managed to bring it back under control but to late and clipped the oncoming car. Anyway I know that since my accident and after 23+ complaints in the USA that Yamaha did a recall saying the throttle position sensor (TPS) needed replacing under warranty and that this was not dangerous.... tell me and a few others that!! I have recently bought a 1999 R6 with some minor body damage and I have decided to change the look of it when I respray it. I am having trouble finding information on the sponsors/colours for when the bike was raced in the late 90's and early 2000. please could someone help. I dont mind which championship, I just want the bike to look good, and even colourful. Thanks!

Hi, I have not long had a Yamaha TZR 50 53 plate. When you rev the bike the oil and temperature warning light get brighter. they are not one when the bike in on tick over. should this happen?? ALSO is there a manual for the bike?? Cheers Chris

Hi I just got a digital gear indicator from GPT. Has anyone put one on there FZ6S ABS? I could use a little help on which wires to connect it to. In the manual the wire diagram doesn't match the color that there instructions says. Can anyone tell me the colors of tacho and speedo pulce wires? Hello One month before I bought 2001 Yamaha R6. First three weeks was everything all-right. But couple days before I stopped. And it's look like he don't wanna charge battery or somthing with Electric part. I Purchased the new battery. It was riding again, but after 15 miles its stop again. Maybe somebody had the same problems or know what it could be? I would be appreciative.
