  1. Last night I changed the plugs in my FZR 600. I tried to start it this morning and it wouldn't start. I killed the battery trying to start it so I hooked up my charger. I finally got it to start running but it only ran for a minute before it stalled. I could not restart it. The RPMs were very low when it was running. Usually (with choke on) it revs up after a few seconds. But it ran around 1K rpms for about 60 seconds. I had the bike out a couple weeks ago and it ran fine. I'm positive I have the wires in the right positions. I reseated them this morning but it didn't change anything. I have it on a float charger today and I'll try to start it tonight when I get home. Any…

Hi all, I am new to the site and need a bit of help. I have been offered a XS600 by my a relative. It has not been run for over four years and is belived to have a battery/alternator problem. She can give me no further info and as she lives a considerable distance away, I could do with finding out what the bike is. I.e. is it a sports, a cruiser, a vintage modle or what? Are spares available for this model? Sorry for being so vague. Where can I download a photo? Thanks ChrisK

I have a XS 400 E 1978, running pretty well. It has a Mikuni carburettor. I am thinking of buying a carburettor of 1981 XS 400 Speical. Is there any difference between these two, it look like both the bikes have same carburettors. Hope it will fit on 1978 XS 400. Invites your advise. John

Hello everyone got my bike test very soon (Direct Access). Have Been looking at the R6 for my first bike, awesome looking bikes particularly in blue. Am new too bikes but not fast machinery as own a Mitsubishi Evolution but I am inexperienced in riding bikes, but the way I see it the bike will only go as fast as you want it . Is there anything in particular to look out for in buying an early R6 (99-02), whats involved and at what mileage is a major service and most importantly what are they like too ride any comments would be great thanks.

Hello to all, I have a 2006 Yamaha Roadliner, great bike. What I am looking to do is to bring my RPM's down when cruising on long trips. Looking to bring them down around 300 to 500 RPM's. I will be do this by using a small rear belt pulley since I don't' have any room for a larger front pulley to put a bigger one. Can anyone help me out as where to find a smaller rear belt pulley for the Yamaha Roadliner. Or does any know if the other Star belt driven bikes might have a smaller pulley that would work on the Roadliner. Thanks Dave

Hi guys, I'm planning to put forward controls on my 2004 V-Star 1100 Custom. I'm blown away with the cost in doing so... $500 - $600. I came across some forward extensions on Ebay today. These are made in either 4" or 6"; the pictures on Ebay are the 6" version. Do any of you have these, and if so, what are your thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-V-St...sspagenameZWDVW Thanks, Tom

Hi Guys... I just bought a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Custom. Love the drag style of the bike but I really dislike the look of the stock bars. Have any of you installed an aftermarket drag bar? If so, what did you go with? I see that the stock bar is 31" wide, a height of 7.5", and 12" of pullback. What height and pullback would I be able to use WITHOUT changing the stock cables? There is a bar made by MILWAUKEE TWINS that is sold on the JP Cycles website. It is 30" wide, a height of 8", and 7.5" of pullback. What do you think of this bar... would stock cables work okay? http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?...0C-3D5E3D271640 I appreciate …

  14. I just bought a 02 v-star 1100 for my second bike and want to put on a set of slip-ons. This is the first time changing exhaust on one of my bikes so I have a few questions. First any suggestions on a set of slip-ons? I am looking at the Roadhouse Brand Moto Classic Slip-on Muffler they are a 3.5" dia. slash cut. Second do you have to rejet with slip-ons? I have heard people say you do and don't. Thanks for the help.

The pull rod has play in it, like it is floating in no-man's-land. So I install the cover, slide the pin down the slot, and it hooks up to the pull rod in the clutch. When you rotate the pin to hook up the clutch cable, it will only rotate a little bit, just like the pull rod is only moving about in the no-man's-land area. It's not springy. Now with that said, here's the background...I was riding home the other day and the bike wasn't shifting right. I get home and found that it had developed an oil leak, and was low on oil. The low oil idiot light had not come on though. So I fixed the oil leak(crank seal), and started up the street. However, it was now nearl…

Hello there ppl, I've just purchased one of these little FZ750 beauties, its a 1991 model, this was to be used as a second bike to my Vmax, thing is, I can't keep off it It's one one hell of a ride and well underated as a serious contender to some newer plastics. After doing all the major checks It took to the road with a mate who has an R1, I was astounded by the performance and on a clear road opened her up and she went well past the 150mph clock, my mate was along side on his R1 and told me he was doing around 160mph, I had to shut her down as we ran out of road and it was still pulling. Now I'm not sure if people still use this forum regularly, but if they d…
