Hi. Posted for a friend: I've got an 05 plate FZ6, which earlier this year I took in to the dealer for the recall to fix the Throttle Position Sensor. Apparently a fault in some machines meant the engine could just cut out with no warning, not something I'd ever experienced before taking it in for the recall work. A week or so ago as I pull away from a roundabout on to a dual carriageway the engine went dead just as I was hitting speed, drifted on to the grass at the side of the road, waited a bit then got going again. Put it down to a fuel blockage or overheating or something (I am not mechanically minded). Roll on to the M40 this morning on my way to work and what …

I have a 1988 FZR400. I'm looking to get some crash mushrooms for it, but as is often the case, parts are hard to find. Does anyone know where I could find a set that would fit my bike. Maybe the same size as an fzr600 or something? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking @ a second hander for a quick first bike then stepping up into the Fazzer. It's a "1994 YAMAHA FZR400 (GREY IMPORT) ROAD" for $3700 Aus, which is 1,507.60 GBP or 2,206.80 EUR. It's got 56000km's on the clock. Think this is about right? I'm new to the buying bike market so trying to get feet stable before i make decisions. This does look good though and if it is dont wanna miss out. But i aint gonna rush out and buy it cause it's the first ive seen. More Details

Afternoon all, after many years away from bikes i'm going to take the plunge and i'm very interested in a v twin virago 750 or 1100....i'm doing as much reserach as possible to find out, pro's, cons, service, parts etc...not to worried about servicing as i've been rebuilding lambrettas and vespas foir the last 20 years so not to bad on the mechanic side of things. I'm 6 foot and would be using the bike for work and pleasure during the summer months and the odd ride out at the weekend in the winter...all your thoughts, views and opinions on the subject greatly appreciated

I'm not new to bikes, and am active on the RD websites, but this is my first whack at working one on these triples. I'll be watching Ebay for a manual. Not sure of the year - it's a barn find we dragged out into the light the other day. Looks like 91 is the last time it had paperwork, so probably been sitting for about 6 yrs. It feels like it has fairly even compression in all 3 cyl, and the electronics look unmolested. Besides the normal carb cleaning and attention to gunk in the petcock and installing fuel filtes, is there anything in particular on these bikes I need to be aware of before attempting to fire one up ? Are there common problems on these that I…

Hi all, This is my first post. Been checking over the posts to see what's there. Lots of great stuff. Name is Ric. Live in Central Ohio. Been riding for several years now and love every minute of the wind in my face experience. Even the bugs......LOL I just bought my second Yamaha. First one was an old 82 Maxim 750. Downsized to a to 500 Kawasaki but missed my Yam. Traded the Kaw in for a V-Max. All I have to say is OH MY GOD! I got it up to six grand on the rpm's and V-boost kicked in. It was everything I could do to hang on to that rice rocket! It gets horrible gas mileage, but I don't care one bit. It's well worth the extra gas to ride the b…

All, Would anyone be interested in riding out with me? Have a Fazer 600 and just bought the MT 03. I usually ride out with my bloke but he was a bit over ambitious 2 weekends ago and has his leg in a cast. Not a happy chappy and obviously not much good to ride out with! I'm based in Norwich so anyone within a 20 to 30 mile radius would be good. Let me know Cheers

Had my first ride out on my new Mt with my mate on his fireblade. Left Leeds then went across country to Whitby, Scarboro and Brid before heading back to Leeds via Stamford Bridge. Thoughts: great ride out very happy with bike. Comfortable and not as much vibration as I was expecting although my right hand had a bit of numbness after a while. Glad I fitted mirror extentions so I can see to the rear!! I am seriously think about a decent screen tho quite a bit of buffeting above ** mph. and possible that I might get a tank bag of tail pack for the water proofs. All in all a good day out cant wait till next time!!!

Hi, I just bought a 2007 Yamaha Virago 250 a couple of weeks ago. I'm getting back into riding after 25 years away. It's a nice little bike for getting back into the swing of things. I do have a bit of a question. After about 20 minutes of riding, my hands are numb. I'm not gripping too tight and I am wearing gloves. Where would one go for a set of better grips. I was thinking of just putting foam grips over the top. Other than that, I am very pleased with the machine. It appears that not many aftermarket items are out there that are Virago specific. Thanks for your time.

Hello, I recently acquired a 1987 Yamaha FZ600, I'm still waiting on the title though, so I might wait to work on it anymore. Anyhow, it leaks oil from underneath, couldn't this be dangerous if it were to drip on the rear tire? Or is there something to prevent that from happening (splash shield?)? Anyways, the previous owner says the engine is from a 1991 Yamaha grand prix or something, it's supposed to be a race motor. It sounds like it's got an exhaust leak at the manifold, I may fix that or just drive it for now as I plan to convert it to 100% electric later. Also the clutch slips on harder acceleration, but I've read in the manual how to adjust it, it's probably j…

Hello all, I have a 1987 FZ600 that was in perfect condition. I was deployed overseas last year and while I was away it was parked in my parents garage. My dad accidentally knocked it over while trying to move it around in the garage. It just has a small crack in the fairing however, this year when I went to get it ready for the spring season here no headlights work at all. All of the other lights on the motorcycle work except the two headlights. Any ideas on where to start looking. Any relays? I checked all the fuses I could find and they look good. I find it hard to believe that both lights would be dead at the same time however, maybe they are but, they don'…
