hi, ive recently been involved in an accident on my bike and it has been written off but i am hoping to repair it myself as i am a mechanic. the bike is a 1992 fzr400rr and im having some trouble finding parts for it. does anyone know if all fzr400 parts are the same or can i only fit 3tj parts or would anything from a 600 fit. the main parts im after are forks, clocks, foot rest and gear selector, bars and subframe. any ideas will be appreciated.

I got my 08 R6s last month and went to get the 600 mile service done. It seems to me that it was a high priced oil change. What does this service entail? Im pretty good with the care and service of my car, I do my oven repairs and service. Could I do the same with the bike?

do they make radars for bikes? if not, are police more or less likely to pull over a bike for speeding?

Hey all. Well I'm 15, turning 16 on 1st January, so have decided to get a motorbike. Now my Dad has a Kawasaki ZX9R so I am not exactly a complete novice lol! I know the basics of turning it on and off, changing gears etc... Anyways, so I'm thinking of getting a TZR 50 and I just wondererd what you all think of them? How good are they for beginners? can anyone help my r6 has started to lock the front brake on when im using it the pressure gets more and more until its fully locked on and i have to bleed it to release the pressure!!, ive stripped the calipers and no problems there could it be the master cylinder? also anyone go a exhaust bracket to the frame for a high level scorpion exhaust ive had to bodge one.

I have been reading some reviews of bikes with underseat exhausts like the FZ6. It seems some people have problems with the exhaust fumes being sucked back on to them while riding . . . resulting in fumagated riding gear. Does anyone on this forum with an FZ6 or other bike with underseat exhaust experience this? Greg

Hello, my name is Ryan and ive been a alcoholic for 4..... errr whoops, wrong forum I recently purchased a 2007 yamaha C3 and have enjoyed the whole 2000 miles i have put on her. I am just using her for my training wheels and wanted to pick the brains of all those that reside in the Yamaha forums. I am waiting anxiously for the summer months to come around in Oregon so i can get a decent trade in value for my C3. Well anyway, what would you say is the most reliable bike, that is both good in midrange RPM's but has good revability?? I have not put that many miles on two wheels so something that isn't too difficult to ride would also be nice. I want to stay under $9,00…

ive just brought a fzr250r and the tank has got crap on the inside of it i was wondering if there was ant way of getting it out without cutting the tank in half

Hello All, I am a brand new member, who just put a deposit down on a 1976 Yamaha XS360. I had been looking at new V-Star 650's, but I decided to go with this first as the insurance is $750 less for the first year, and if I drop her I am not going to break into uncontrolled sobs. I am purchasing the bike from a reputable, established dealer and it comes with a safety certificate. The purchase price is $1000.00 Canadian. Straight away I am looking for an owners manuel and a windshield. I welcome any comments, congratulations or otherwise. Mike

I have a 1977 xs360 w/ drum fronts and rears which kind a suck. I also have the spoke wheels, and am willing to swap over to the spokes if I have to. I have found some master cyl units, brake lines, calipers, and disks on ebay off of a 80 xs400. I am wondering if anyone knows if this year would swap over or if they know of any other years. If I could get a list of bike years that you know would swap over would be perfect. Thanks in advance.

Im am currently in the market for a 520 chain and sprocket set up for a 07 yamaha r6s I am adding 2 teeth in the rear and dropping one in the front which would put my bike at a 520/15/50 set up does anyone have any experiance with this set up and if u do was it worth it! And what brand you think is best!

Hi all. Can anyone help I am loosing oil from the gear box and i am seeing small puddles of oil around the side stand, what is likely to be the cause of the leak and how easy is it to fix? and can you tell me what oil goes in the box? Cheers, Nick.

I have a 1977 Yamaha xs 360. If it sits in the garage for about a week I can hop on it and go like crazy with it for about 20 minutes or so, then it will start backfiring on the left cylinder and start to run like crap. When I get back to the house it will only idle with full throttle, so I pulled off the left spark plug wire and the engine did not change at all but the plug is sparking. Just wondering if anyone else have had this same problem? Maybe when the engine gets that hot the valves are out of whack and will not create enough compression on that side, or might be a carb issue on that side.

I have a 1977 xs360 with a leaky exhaust valve on the left cylinder and I found a good used 1979 xs 400 cylinder head on ebay for $30. I am just wondering if anyone knows if this swap would work for me. If this can't work does anyone know where I could find new valve seals, I am hoping I could pull mine apart and just clean up the valves and seats.

Ok im 16 about to turn 17 this coming december. But my step dad and i are getting 2 sport bikes. He is getting the gsx 1000 and i am getting an r1. I have never ridden a bike ever before but im pretty sure i can ride this because i will be going slow when i first get it. Just a little bit of tip for me

Hi, Sometimes when I put the bike into first gear the neutral light stays on, slightly dimmer but still on. Then I noticed that everytime I changed gear while the clutch was pulled in the light came on, but as soon as the bike had warmed up this did not happen. Dry switch ?? where is this switch anyway ??

I am new to riding a street bike and was wondering how often one should change the oil? The dealer seems to think 5000 miles between oil changes it just fine? Any thoughts? Also do most bikes burn oil and require topping off?
