Hello all, I am a new member... and as you here with most new members I have an issue. I am a new rider and a new bike owner. I look forward to hearing from everyone. I just bought a '91 FZR 600 with 19k miles. The bike is in good shape, but it had not been riden for a couple years... so I wanted to get the carbs cleaned out because idle was kind of rough. So after reading several good things from users about sea foam I gave it a shot... and I got myself in trouble... please read through and help... The way I used the foam was running the bike for a hour or so then letting it sit for a day, and repeating. I did this three times... the last time I let the bike…

Hi all, i'm new here. I've just passed my test and i'm all set to buy an R6, I'm a little confused when it comes to insurance quotes tho, There are 2 choices.... YZF R6 Extreme performance (2000 - on) and..... YZF R6 - 599cc (1998 - 2001) Can anybody tell me the difference between these bikes? The bike i've seen is a 2001 but the difference in the insurance between an "extreme performance" and the other model is massive! Thanks chris

Sorry if some of this doesnt all make sense. New to the bike world. had a top end rebuild on my TDR 125 a couple of weeks ago. After this it began to leak water. Got the barrel and head skimmmed and put in a new gasket set. Bike ran perfectly for about 250 miles after this but yesterday it started to over-heat really quickly. Checked coolant level seems perfect, not airlocked and isnt leaking water from anywhere. Noticed a black oily residue on the bracket near the chain. I cleaned this off to see if it was a fresh leak but after driving there doesnt appear to be any more leak. Pipes around the radiator are hot which i think means that the water is circulating!? Any …

Action shot - PLJphoto Gordon loved his run out at Pembrey taking a 2nd in the 5th round of the championship - however it wasn't all plain sailing... Check out his blog Gordon's Blog I am not just pleased with the result though, with all the hard work of his 'special friends' he is now a 'good bike' to ride, and with a couple more tweaks, will become a 'great bike' for the track. Don't forget £60 will get you a 1 in 100 chance to win him. Bloke.

Hi. Guys. I have just bought my first road bike, a Yamaha YZF-R6 1999 model with just 4,500 miles on it. I have just passed my test and I live on the Isle of Man so I have the TT course to my disposal now Being a resident of the Isle of Man since I was 3 years old, and my father being an ex racer, I have grown up riding off road since I can remember but have never got round to getting my licence and getting a road bike so my handling skills are pretty good but I was wondering if any of you guys have any tips about the handling on the R6 that may help me out on my first few runs out on it, being a road bike rider novice. This is my first post, I thought I sh…

I thought it might be handy to have some areas where people can put their own reviews across on certain parts that relate to Yamaha Sports bikes. I thought i would start of on tyres as my rear is almost shot and about time to replace. I have used the Dunlop 208's that came on the R6 originally and the Dunlop rear as used on the 2007 model but they just dont seem ot wear too well. I have now switched to a Michelin Pilot Power on the front and going to try one on the rear and so far the front has performed amazingly they give loads of grip and confidence that i never got from the dunlop front. Am not sure about wear yet but we'll see how long it lasts! Ive a…

Hey everyone! I'm new to the site and have been riding my 2006 Yamaha FZ 6 for about a year. It is a great Bike. I absolutely love it! In the first 6 months I put over 10K on it commuting and riding the canyons on the weekend. Unfortunately I laid it down about 5 months ago and after a broken wrist and foot I'm just now putting it back together. Between the healing time and family time it's taken a while. The front fairing is jacked and not usable. The guages and lights are usable but it looks like its going to take more than $1000 to replace all the broken plastic. Fortunaly the frame is straight and the motor is perfect. I think I like the naked look and I'm tring t…
