  2. Hey all, my furst poast on this forum, I'm the proud owner of a Yamaha SR250. It needs a little TLC, and seems like a good bike to get to know how the mechanical side is put together. I've got other experience in car mechanics, and a little in bike mechanics, but i've not replaced a chain/sprocket set, or the fork seals and oil. So the obvious question is: (1) does anyone have a manual for a 2002/2003 SR-250? Or know where i can find one? Hopefully in the manual, of if someone knows, i'm after a couple of pieces of information: (2) The volume of fork oil? (3) The fork spring length and acceptable limits (4) Distance of the fork cap to the triple clamp (…

  4. Good morning all, My friend gave me a 1976 600 (or so he says) I tried to call the local dealer with the serial numbers but they couldn't help me. I have yet to see the title to verify the size. The bike is in o.k. shape and does run. I had to clean and separate the points to get it to fire. It idles o.k. but wont wind all the way up unless I am very easy on the throttle. When it does rev up and I let go of the throttle it takes a long time to wind back down to idle. I am hoping the some one can let me know what the point gap should be. Also, I know that it would be a good idea to take the carburetors off and clean them but I am not sure if there are allot of hard to fi…

Hi, I have just registered here and just bought an XJ6 FA after being away from biking for...nearly 20 years! Great bike to get back on, loving it! My problem is putting air in my tyres!, should be simple? I went to my local petrol station and although the nozzle of their air pump is angled I had real trouble getting past the brake discs and the cast arms on the wheels to put air in. Am I missing something? Or do I really have to buy my own? Any help would be appreciated. Stefan

Hi all! Just picked-up an N-reg YZF750R, looking forward to using her properly... however, one niggle... the front brakes have no 'feel', no 'bite'... they work, but I don't like how they feel. The bike has had recent brakes front and rear (the rear feels fine, it's the front brakes I'm not happy with) and was MOT'd with no advisories just before I picked her up. I reckon it's the pads that have been used (no idea what make they are), maybe they just need bedded in... anyway, could anyone advise if this is 'normal' on YZF's? Or what make / type of front pads would be a good choice to get bite and feel? One member suggested bleeding the brakes (I asked this question …

hi all, i have a 97 thundercat and its been layed up for a little over a year and ran perfect when i parked it up but since resurecting her in feb this year its had a rough tick over and spluters when on low revs but seems to run perfect on over quarter throttle, ive had carbs to bits and could not see any dirt also changed both coil packs but no diference, checked plugs and swapped them around to see if any change but still same, it seems the problem is with cylinders 1 and 3 as leaving the bike on tick over and checking temp of down pipes they seem lot cooler than 2 and 4 and also when had carbs to bits i ran bike with no petrol tank or airbox and proceeded to smother t…

I'm being lazy here, sorry... ...however, I want to put individual cone filters on the carbs on my YZF750R (streetfighter project) and was wondering if anyone knew what diameter the air intake was e.g. 43mm...? Otherwise I'll remove the airbox and measure them, as I said, just being lazy!

As you can tell from my posts i'm new! I've just bought myself a 1992 Yamaha DT200WR Road registered with only 13000KM (mint condition) (theres a big difference between DT200 and WR btw) anyways i'm just wondering is there anything i can do to make it a little quicker Apart from FMF racing exhaust and reeds? I've heard of stan stephens but not sure about it. Is there anything i can do? (Any ideas if it can be supermoto'd easy?) Thanks to anyone that replys and i'm sorry if it's in the wrong place!

Hello! I have an YBR 125 cc '09 model. I want to change my classic turn lights into LED. I have bought the lamps. I saw on ebay that it's a turn signal fixer (a little black box with 3 pins), which with it you can lead your LED lamps. I have bought one, and put it on, but it didn't worked. What did I do wrong? It's a matter of A and Volts? Or Watt ? What is the right type of this fixer?

Hi All, i recently bought a YBR 125 and have just found that the front and rear wheel are not aligned properly. the rear wheel is ok, however the front seems to be over to the left slightly. i know the bike has been involved in a slight accident, but being a category C i thought that it would be straight. from what i have read, it should be fairly simple to fix this by slackening both of the fork clamps at the top and pulling everything straight then re-tightening. is it really this simple to fix or are there other things i should be considering too? i havent had a go at the forks yet, will do it tonight, but if anyone has any ideas on what else i should be lookin…
