Hi there, I'm relatively new to these pages so a big hello to you all. I've got a 2009 XJ6 and was interested to know what others have done about the exhaust. To date all I've done is drill a hole through the end and this has made a slight inprovement to the sound. What have others done? Anybody out there used 2002 R6 down pipes and worked from there? What about some of the full systems on offer? What have you had done and how much did you pay? Really keen to hear about others as I'm I'm going crazy trying to decide what to do? Thanks KW

Hi all I am a new member. i have a problem with my 10 reg Yzf-r 125 the bike is using alot of oil there is no leaks that i can see i ahve looked all over the engine there is some times blue smoke this only last 1 to 2 sec`s when cold. i could use 1 L in 100 miles the engine don`t sound right. i have done just over 7000 miles on the bike and i have took the bike back to the dealer many time and got told this is normal and the bike is ok has any one els got the same problem or could help, i have got told Yamaha knows there is a problem with the yzf-r 125 engines but don`t know if this is true.

Hey all, Ive recently picked up an older 1998 600 Fazer mostly for commuting duties and a bit of scratching around the twisties. I've already got the front forks sorted, however I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do with the rear shock. Are my only options something expensive like a Hagon or a Ohlins? Or is there other model shocks that fit? (ie Thundercat/R6/FZ1) Cheers, Lurch

I have bought a yamaha tzr 50 2004 plate, the speedo is stuck at zero! i have took it apart in the front wheel and cleaned it out then greased it back up but still no luck, im completly stuck. I would really appreciate some help, thanks

Hi, I've just got a YBR-125 Custom and there's some scuffing on the chrome trim on the exhaaust. It looks like quite a cheap bit to replace, but I can't find anywhere that does parts. Any ideas? I've googled, but no luck. Cheers, Graham

Hi guys, I recently purchased an X-Max 250 around 4 months ago. The bike has been great so far and I have had my 1st service with no problems. I was using the bike as normal this past Saturday and when it came to start up the bike, it did not start! Instead of making a standard start noise, I just witnessed a clicking sound everytime I pressed the ignition along with holding the brake. Quite a large sounding clicking sound. The oil light always used to flash everytime I tried to start but again, just a clicking sound! I even held the ignition pressed with the brake for a good few seconds and nothing happened, I heard no starting noise. Is this a battery iss…

Hi, I'm looking for some possible causes of why my signals work perfect sometimes then sometimes dont work at all, or need to be held in the direction i am going to stay blinking. I just replaced the signal unit this morning after ordering a new/used one off ebay and it is still doing the exact same thing. the bulbs look great also. could it be something with the ignition? anyways, if anyone has had a similar issue or can just think of a possible cause i would appreciate any guess. thanks alot!

Hello all, I have just signed up to the Y.O.C. I am thinking of buying a Yamaha YZF-750R which is a 96N plate. Just taking my full bike licence after over 20yrs off a bike and coming back from the dark side of cars. Can anybody recommend a cheap method of checking up on a bikes history as I did an HPI check and it came back as a Yamaha Cherokee and not the YZF I was expecting. Thanks for listening, Si

Sorry to seem really dense but I have returned to biking after a long break. My old bikes were all singles or twins. I now have a new XJ6 naked. The 4 cylinder engine is great after a large 500 single! But any advice on gear usage. Around town I think I am short shifting a lot using 5 th and 6 th too much. The bike pulls well but I think j should be using 3 rd and 4 th in the 30 zones. Whats the best rev range for town riding? Also has anyone fitted a devil end can on the original exhaust? Hi all, new to the motorbike scene so be gentle... I've just bought a 1999 Fazer 600 after passing my test in Feb with 34000mls for £900. It has full history and looks to have been well maintained though it does look like it has been used as a commuter. After riding it, it seems ok and very quick(for me anyway). My question is about the cooling fan and what temp will it kick in as yet i've not seen it working but not knowing much about bikes not sure if they come in as often as a car's cooling fan.... P.S it doesn't have a temp gauge just the warning light on the rev counter which hasn't came on and hope it never does. That's assuming it works...

hi, i've just finished restoring a mk.2 rd125lc it's all standard apart from a micron period exhaust, i replaced the the standard 195 jet with a 210 as a starting point but it seems really sluggish before getting to the powerband i.e at low revs it doesn't want to pull unless you drop it down a gear or two. does anyone have any ideas on the correct jet size?

Hi There, As requested I have now added a newbie thread in the correct section! Anyway, I have my Xj6 now! YES!!! I wanted to get to work on the tail tidy tonight but have found that I cannot remove the indicators. Has anybody else done this? I expected them to just be bolted on but they dont seem to be...not even sure if they will actually go on the new tail tidy since it has just one hole drilled. Any help would be great? Adam

Hi, was wondering if someone could answer a couple questions for me. 1. Do i drain the oil where the oil filter is or is it another nut? 2 How much oil? and why no dipstick? 3. Under foot shift small hole that in unthreaded and I can reach up into, what the heck is that? is it missing a plug? thanks very much to anyone who can respond!
