so i just purchased an 86 fazer last week as my first bike. it needs some work but i really like it so far. as of right now, i know it needs the carbs tuned, a headlight lens, and a front tire, but other than that, its good to go. ive been riding it as is so far. ive ridden it over 400 miles in less than a week already, i guess im addicted. i have a few questions. i know it is running very rich. the guy i bought it from said the previous owner put stage 2 or 3 jets in which i think leads to why it cuts out at 8.5k rpms and gets horrible gas mileage (about 30mpgs). so i need to get the carbs tuned. also, it has a very erratic idle. sometimes it idles perfectly at abo…

I just bought my first bike, which I have already gone through a few hoops to get legal and on the road. I want to know if there is anyway to get more power from my xs500. It feels like she wants to go but I can't seem to really get going over about 50mph. any help? Cheers, AD

I have a 55 plate (2006 on the log books) TZR50 with the am6 engine and the revs seem to max out at 9k or just under. I have seen posts where people say they are getting 10k-11k+. So I need to know is the standered coil pack restrict the revs or do they all do the same job. I have seen 3 differed shape coil packs availible all saying there for the am6. So i don't know if one does a better Job than another or if a coil pack is just a coil pack. Thanks

Hey guys, So I tried to take my front calliper off today, followed all the steps in the manual but to no joy. When I undo the bolts and slacken the pad retaining bolts the calliper is meant to "slide" off. Well, mine doesn't. I think the pads are sticking or something. Anyway, I have no idea what to do now. Hit it with a hammar? Until I get it off I can't do anything though. What's your advice? Thanks.

hi Have a weak spark on all 4 could it be the regulator/rectifier. it was running fine then started to miss fire and stalled i bumped it and it ran for a few minuets then did the same again and now it wont fire up. Fitted a new battery but still the same. Cheers

so, this morning - put my leathers on, and my waterproofs - due to normal sunny aberdeen weather - looked like there was a waterfall outside my window !, and unpadlocked my bike - key in the ignition, choke on and press the starter! . . .click. . . .click . . . . seems the water must have got into my starter ??solenoind?? / ??relay?? pushed her down the road abit and booft - she fired up nicely. Bikes been under shelter at work all day and im just finishing - so i hope its dried out cos i cant be bothered bump starting it again

Picked up my 86 radion a couple of days ago and love it. Its a proper old school bike and I can't belive how lite it is. Are there any other radian owners out there as mine is the only one I've seen And if there is what tweaks or mods have you done.

so, here i was driving back to aberdeen, when BOOM! bike revs fly up, and my bike loses power. luckily i was able to coast into a parking place at the side of the road. anyone notice why i was so pi$$ed off ?

Guys, some advice needed, requested from Belgium (small European country)... Recently bought an XJ6 (clocked 2000 miles) and have 2 questions. 1. Gearbox. When accelerating hard going from 1st to 2nd gear, the gearbox tends to shift in neutral gear. I've tried quite a bit, pushing the clutch pedal harder with my foot, closing throttle sufficiently, pulling clutch lever sufficiently, though the issue still stands... Any one already experienced the issue? Any solutions? Thinking of switching clutch lever (TITAX), cause that might be the problem... 2. Exhaust. Willing to replace my exhaust (just the can). Which one would you advice? Thinking of Leovince or Arrow…

hi I dropped me bike on a roundabout the other day. thanks to the bobbins it saved me further damage . it was cool and damp and the front just went. i passed during summer so this is the first time riding in cool weather. any experienced rider advice will be much appreciated to help build back some confidence on leaning into turns . i dont want to just ride in warm summer . i also dont want to drop me bike to gain experience. any advice will be much appreciated

any fzr400 owners out there that i can come to for opinons, help and advices? particularly on r6 shock for 400, where can i get adaptor for it and from what year r6 shock can fit? and what the different from the original 400 and r6 shock.

hi can anybody help me. I was taking of speedo cover of to have a look at indicators etc and when i came to put back the cover i threaded to plastic thread. Me being me i was heavy handed. any help on what i could do to fix this problem. cheers

Hello everybody, I am new to this site as just got myself a new xj6n. I am having a few issues regarding upgrading some things on my bike. Can anybody tell me how to fit a tail tidy, plus i also need to know if i can fit after market front indicators to my bike. I have been told that i need indicator plates to make them fit. Hi Guys, Wondering if yous can help me . . Im looking for a new exhaust system for my bike as the silencer i have on is beat up to bits and leeking where it joins the down pipes. only problem is, i dont know what i currently have on, to be able to buy a new exhaust that fits. It has a 4 into 1 systyem, rather than the origonal 4 into 2 but the silencer doesnt have any branding or numbering on it that i can see, ( might have to rip it off and have a good look ) has anyone else got a 4 into 2 on their bike ? and what kind of can do you have on it ? i was thining if i can find out what i have on at the moment it would be easier to get a link pipe, and then buy…
