Hi, new poster here. I've been having some problems with my Yamaha XT125x. It is a 2009 and it has an arrow exhaust system. I've found recently that the bike will not idle/tick over very well at all, I'll put the choke on for a bit and leave the bike to warm up but when I come back and turn the choke off, the bike will slowly deteriorate down to about 1000rpm, and then to 800 and it will die on me. It even happens sometimes after I have been riding for a little while for example. If I get stuck at traffic lights, the bike will sometimes just die on me. The other issue I've been having recently is that when I'm riding along, I will change from 1st to 2nd, ride for …

My bike has had the same spark plug in for over a year. I have decided to buy an iridium one. The prices vary from £6-£13. I have read that they're are a lot of fakes going about, how do you tell?

heylo folks, i have a rough idea of how to strap down a bike in a shipping crate and thought i'd double check by having a quick browse online but i get the impression that there are several views on the subject with no real clear definitive consensus. anyway, thought i'd narrow it down and find out if you good people have a system you prefer or can advise on. havent had a bum steer in here with my endevours to get my bike back to the UK so far! using a steel-framed skid which is forklift only (cant be suspended by straps) and i have plenty ratchet straps to spare.

Hi Guys, did anyone ever noticed that the front cylinder exaust sounds very different from the rear cylinder? Also while adjusting the intake valves clearance , I forgot to take out the sparks and noticed that the compression (when moving the crankshaft) was escaping trough the timing sprocket case is this normal? Should I be able to move the camshaft without removing the plugs? Sorry for these questions. but I'm not used to 4 stroke engines.

does anyone know at all how you can get a idea if a bottome end of the engine is ok like the clutch and gears when the engine is not in the bike or running , it does turn freely and the piston goes up and down and it seems to engage gears and rotate is there a procedure for checking it at all or is it a case of putting it together and then testing it ,

I have purchased some crash bobbins from a company in Italy. They fit directly to the Engine one replaces the brake fluid bolt and the other (gear side) is mounted on a tab in front of the crank case. I am really not sure that these are going to help or worse still transfer the force directly to the engine casing. If anyone has any experience of this design I would appreciate your advice.

I have a few questions and would appreciate some advice from someone that can point me in the correct direction. The Bikes the police and ambulance service use have a swich fitted wich allows the bike to keep running whilst the key is removed, for the purpose of powering the lights that they leave on, as soon as the bike is dropped into gear it automatically kills the bike. my questions are; Can you buy premade kits, if so what are they called? if not is it possible to make it happen yourself, possibly using a transistor from the neutral light? I only have a basic knowlege on electrics/electronics and would appreciate any help. thanks, kyle.

hi im a bit confused with what spak plug to put in my bike it has in it now cr6hsa which we think has been in their since new and it need's replacing. i was told that their are a number of spark plugs avalible for the ybr for example the one i have in it now is apparently meant for slow inner city driving (or its better at it), but i was told their is another spark plug that is better for higher speeds e.g. A roads. from what i could find on the internet it pointed to the NGK C7HSA for this so i went and brought it but now it comes to putting it in the bike and i am worried that it will cause it damage. if annyone could clear this up it would be greatly appreciated. …
